Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

290: cheers!Xu Bai felt no dissatisfaction at being interrupted; he had already remembered who she was. Her previous name indeed hadn’t sounded particularly pleasant, and it seemed someone in their class had mocked her for it back then. Since she had changed her name now, perhaps she wanted a fresh start. He decided it was best not to bring it up and reopen old wounds, so he changed the subject.

”Of course I remember. You look just the same as before.”

Wu Zijin said, ”Xu Bai, why don’t you introduce us?”

Liu Mengyun chimed in, ”Yes, yes! Fate brings people together from a thousand miles away; we should all get to know each other.”

There was nothing wrong with what the two beside him said, but Xu Bai caught their expressions and helplessly covered his forehead.

How to put it? The original owner of his body did seem to have liked Ji Yun, but he never confessed, so it could only be considered a secret crush.

”They are both my classmates from Higher Academy.”

”Oh.” The two knew when to be discreet; although they weren’t satisfied with this explanation, they could only nod silently.

Xu Bai introduced both sides to each other and then invited the two in front of him to eat together.

Ji Yun and Wang Shanshan gladly accepted, simultaneously sharing the alcohol and food they had bought.

Everyone was young, so as they chatted, they quickly became familiar with one another and started discussing the latest trending topics.

Apart from the recent meeting, the latest topic was, of course, the surveillance card.

Ji Yun asked, ”Does everyone know about the recent surveillance? I specifically installed one outside my home. With it, I feel much safer.”

Wang Shanshan certainly knew about this surveillance card; it was very likely because of this surveillance that her friend had been caught by the Guard Team.

At the same time, so many people from the cult had stumbled because of the surveillance. Now, many in the cult despised this surveillance; in their eyes, this surveillance was a demonic creation, and touching it would lead to corruption.

Although Wang Shanshan was quite curious to see the surveillance, she wasn’t bold enough to apply for one to be installed at her doorstep, as her activities sometimes couldn’t be known to others.

What if, despite what the newspapers said about only the owner being able to see the surveillance, the Guard Team had a trick up their sleeve? If they could see the privately installed surveillance, wouldn’t her identity be exposed?

”I haven’t installed one at home; I’m not used to having such a thing.”

”Many public areas have installed these surveillance systems, and because of them, crime has decreased significantly. So, whether you install one at home or not is up to personal preference.”

Although Liu Mengyan hadn’t been active outside much recently, she knew from newspapers how many criminal incidents the Government had prevented; crime had definitely decreased compared to before.

”It is still very necessary to install surveillance. With cults running rampant, surveillance serves as another form of protection for us and can help the Guard Team capture more cult members.

Although the surveillance has only just been developed, it will surely be upgraded in the future, making it even more convenient. Perhaps by then, every household will be able to install one.”

Xu Bai also affirmed the surveillance card, expressing an optimistic attitude toward people installing surveillance in the future. After all, he was the one who created the surveillance card and proposed the Skynet Project, and he had also experienced life where surveillance was everywhere.

Liu Mengyun chimed in, ”Yes, yes! I heard some academies have installed them too. After installing the surveillance, many troublemaking Students have become much better behaved.”

Regarding this matter, Ji Yun, being a teacher, had the most authority to speak.

”Indeed. After all, many Primary Academy Students are in their adolescence and are easily impulsive; some even climb over walls to go out and play. With this surveillance, we can notice these situations in time.

This surveillance has also sparked the Students’ passion for card-making. Many Students are thinking of studying hard to make cards, hoping to create things even more powerful than the surveillance card in the future.”

Xu Bai was very satisfied with the positive changes brought about by the surveillance.

However, he felt that while there were good sides, there were naturally bad sides too, and he wondered if they had appeared yet.

”So, after having surveillance, are there any downsides?”

Does it count that it’s very bad for the cult?

Wang Shanshan muttered to herself internally.

However, she certainly couldn’t say this out loud. If she did, wouldn’t she expose herself as a cult member? Although she had long wanted to leave.

”It’s all quite good. After all, most of it is regulated by the Government now, and many private surveillance systems have fixed installation locations. Now, there are many more people out at night than before, which also shows that the public feels it is safe outside.”

Wu Zijin put forward a different idea.

”There are more people at night, and while surveillance is one aspect, the other reason is, of course, the existence of the electric light.”

Ji Yun nodded; that was indeed correct. If it were pitch black, who would still come out to stroll?

Except for those wanting to do bad things.

”By the way, Xu Bai, didn’t you create this Glaze? Many electric lights and surveillance systems now use Glaze. You must have made a lot of money; you are developing quite well now.”

”You created the Glaze?” Wang Shanshan looked at Xu Bai in surprise. Wasn’t it said that he had returned to his hometown to inherit his parents’ Card Shop? How did he create such powerful cards?

Xu Bai scratched his head and smiled.

”Yes, I made it.”

If you knew that both the surveillance card and the electric light card were created by me, you might be even more surprised.

Of course, Xu Bai was not a showy person and did not boast about this.

Wang Shanshan said sincerely, ”You are so amazing; you can just lie flat now.”

If only she could create such commonly used material cards as well.

Forget it, she wouldn’t think about these things anymore. What she wanted to do most now was to investigate the truth about the Divine Blood, expose the cult’s scam regarding the Divine Blood, and if possible, leave the Divine Cult.

”It is still very boring to have nothing to do every day. Right now, I am still researching card-making, and the three of them are researching with me.”

Wu Zijin, Liu Mengyan, and Liu Mengyun nodded; they did not overstep their boundaries by saying anything else.

Hehehe!

When they find out tomorrow that Xu Bai is Bai Xiaobai, they will definitely be shocked.

They were waiting to see a good show.

Ji Yun said, ”That’s great, to be able to do what you like. I just hope I can become a teacher at the Higher Academy as soon as possible.”

”Having dreams is always good; what if they come true?”

”Yes, yes! My dream is to become a Card-Making Masters; I feel I will definitely be able to achieve it.”

Wu Zijin confidently patted his own chest.

Xu Bai said, ”Let’s have a toast. I hope everyone achieves their dreams.”

”Okay, cheers!”

”Cheers!” x 5

Well, having dreams is always good; what if they come true?
