Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

283: New nameSanya, no, she now has a new name, Shanshan. A new name actually represents many things, the most direct being that she has a new leader.

She was originally an outer member of the Divine Card Sect; now she’s considered to have entered the middle ranks.

She hadn’t expected the cult to be so short-staffed now. Because she could make cardss, she accidentally became a subordinate of an Elder, which was something she never imagined.

Previously, her job was to investigate the reason for the mass arrests of members, but then news came that no investigation was needed as the reason had already been found. So now she was idle.

Bored, she sat in her spot, looking at the decorations around her.

On the shelf in front was a large stack of newspapers. These newspapers didn’t seem to have accumulated day by day, as they looked brand new and untouched.

Next to the shelf were locked cabinets, and inside them were cameras, which were their work tools.

If no one mentioned this was a cult member’s workplace, anyone who came by would simply think it was an ordinary newspaper office.

Indeed, her current ordinary identity was a newspaper editor.

”Shanshan, let’s go down together. The Elder is going somewhere.”

”Okay.”

Hearing this, Shanshan adjusted her glasses, put on her backpack, and followed another colleague out. Both of them were subordinates of this Elder. The other person had always been, but she was new, so many things were communicated to her by the other person.

When they arrived downstairs, the Elder, dressed in a black robe, was already waiting. Seeing only two assistants come down, his face darkened.

But he didn’t say anything. There was nothing he could do; many cult members had been arrested recently, and several of his subordinates had been captured. He applied for more people, but they only sent him one.

Forget it, this matter was quite urgent, and there was no one available recently. It would be too weak for him to go alone, so it was better to bring two people; better than nothing.

So, the three of them walked towards the underground passage. Entering the passage, it was pitch black. The Elder picked up a kerosene lamp from the side, lit it, and walked forward.

Shanshan touched the electric lamp cards in her pocket, thought for a moment, and still said nothing.

She was new; it was better not to cause trouble. Who knew what their original customs were.

After walking for about half an hour, they finally went up the stairs.

Shanshan saw the light and breathed a sigh of relief, wiping the sweat from her forehead. Although she could walk for so long when she was abused by her family, she hadn’t walked for this long in a while, and her stamina was a bit lacking.

She looked at the other assistant beside her and found that he, too, was sweating profusely. Neither of them had good physical fitness. She wondered what matter required them to come together. Perhaps it was because they were too weak that they weren’t sent out, so the current matter wasn’t important.

As Shanshan thought, she continued up the stairs. The light in front of her grew brighter and brighter. Gradually, she saw the scene before her: a forest.

This is?

Could this be the Demonic Beast Zone?

Shanshan thought to herself, her heart thumping uncontrollably.

She had almost been killed by a demonic beast before. If this was the Demonic Beast Zone, wouldn’t the three of them be killed by demonic beasts in minutes?

Perhaps her expression revealed her panic, and the other assistant quietly told her.

”Don’t worry, those demonic beasts won’t hurt us.”

He wasn’t here for the first time; of course, he knew the situation.

Shanshan’s heart tightened, feeling that she might learn something incredible. She only hoped that this matter was the same as what she wanted to know.

With apprehension and questions, Shanshan followed behind the two, walking forward.

The Elder led his two assistants to an open space and then stood quietly, waiting.

They didn’t have to wait long before three people walked out of the distant forest.

These three people gave Shanshan a strange feeling. She didn’t ignore this feeling and observed them more carefully.

The three were wearing pure white short-sleeved shirts and shorts, walking through this forest without any tension. Although they were expressionless, Shanshan still felt a fierce aura from their faces.

Right, the temperature was already very low now, and most people would be wearing jackets. Were the three in front not cold wearing short-sleeved shirts and shorts?

...Elder: ”Is there something you need from us?”

”Aren’t we in a cooperative relationship? I just feel that your demand for divine blood has decreased recently. Is something wrong?”

The Elder thought for a moment; this matter was not a secret.

”Indeed, something has happened. They have developed a surveillance cards that can detect the actions of everyone within its monitoring range. As a result, many of our people have been arrested.”

Hearing the answer he wanted, Hutou felt relieved. However, the two sides were still in a cooperative relationship, and if the other party’s actions were not smooth, their own actions would also be affected.

”Then do you need our help?”

The Elder was waiting for this exact sentence. He immediately replied, ”It would be even better if you could provide us with more divine blood. After all, divine blood is very attractive to them, it can promote their actions, and also quickly transform a group of people.

Also, our numbers have decreased, and this divine blood can attract some people to join our Divine Card Sect.”

”No problem.”

Of course, Hutou didn’t mind this. In its view, the more people who drank their blood, the better, as they would then be able to control many people’s actions.

However, it was a bit regrettable that the other party’s high-ranking officials did not seem to drink the divine blood they provided. Perhaps they also suspected that they would tamper with the divine blood, so they didn’t drink it themselves.

Forget it, it’s fine if they let their subordinates drink it. They can just have the subordinates kill them later.

Thinking this, Hutou’s lips curled into a smile.

Afterward, the two sides exchanged some materials, then said goodbye and returned.

Although they were in the Demonic Beast Zone, Shanshan never saw a single demonic beast come over from beginning to end.

She also heard about the transaction between the two parties and learned that the divine blood was not discovered by the cult itself, nor was it produced in a laboratory; it was provided by ’others’.

Why did the cult cooperate with those people?

Who were those people?

And why did they say demonic beasts wouldn’t harm them?

Why were there no demonic beasts in the Demonic Beast Zone?

...Although many questions arose in Shanshan’s mind, for now, she could only bury these doubts. She had just learned about the divine blood, and she felt that the cult would definitely send people to observe her. She couldn’t make any abnormal moves that would arouse the cult’s suspicion of her.
