Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

255: ArmoryThe sound of dragging chains came, followed by the ancient bronze doors opening to both sides.

Hearing this noise, one might think everyone was robbing tombs underground, if they didn’t know better.

Oh, right, this world has always developed underground, with many buildings below the surface, sometimes even excavating mountains to build. So, there shouldn’t be many tombs left in this world, right? If there were any, they should have already been dug up.

I wonder what they do with these excavated tombs?

Thinking of this, Xu Bai couldn’t help but search through his original body’s memories, wondering if the original owner knew.

Memory fragments flashed continuously.

Got it!

Indeed, it’s still the museum; everything was sent to the museum.

They protect the cultural relics and send them to the museum, but they don’t protect the underground tombs.

Perhaps it’s because in this world, most people might only live in one or two cities their entire lives, so they aren’t interested in visiting tombs.

Few people in this era think about traveling, or perhaps the tourism industry hasn’t developed yet... My thoughts are straying; I need to pull them back.

The scene before them made everyone take a deep breath.

Inside, it was as bright as day, and everything was clearly visible.

Displayed before everyone were various weapons. Because this was a weapon exhibition hall, not an armory, each of these weapons was unique, and it was precisely this uniqueness that made the interior even more magnificent.

There were all kinds of weapons here, not just guns, but also shells. The guns were all hung on racks, with two cardss on each gun: one was the cards for this gun, housed in a small envelope-style pouch, and the other cards listed the weapon’s serial number, name, manufacturing date, function, advantages, and disadvantages, and so on.

The large shells were displayed in the center, accompanied by dedicated information stands.

Whether guns or cannons, they were all locked behind transparent ”glass.” Xu Bai guessed this was probably made from the remnants of used star energy stones, as some defense was still needed.

The Administrator, with a large ring of keys hanging from his waist, walked a few steps forward, the keys clanking loudly as they collided, a sound particularly noticeable in the quiet exhibition hall.

If anyone thought of taking the opportunity to snatch the keys, open the cabinets, grab weapons, and rush out, then one could only say they were too naive; the weapons inside were not loaded with bullets or shells.

One can only say, it’s better to be safe than sorry; keeping weapons and ammunition separate was also to prevent such situations from occurring.

The Administrator took out the keys and handed them to the armory’s Administrator, who unlocked the displays while explaining.

According to him, all existing weapons in the Tianlong Republic could be found here.

”Wow~”

A sound of admiration rose.

It wasn’t Xu Bai who made the sound. Although Xu Bai was shocked by the scene before him, he was also someone who had seen grand spectacles and could remain composed.

However, the research assistants behind Xu Bai couldn’t remain calm; it was their first time seeing so many different kinds of weapons.

Not everyone could come here; usually, only product creators entered to catalog their created weapon cardss into this weapon exhibition hall.

Their presence here today was an exception made for them, currently for selecting weapons that could be mounted on drones.

Of course, some of these weapons might still need optimization to make them more suitable for drone aerial control.

Everyone was like mice in a rice jar, scurrying through it.

Xu Bai was specifically here to broaden his horizons. After seeing the star energy stone door opened by the Administrator, he stepped forward, examining each weapon’s description cards one by one. Reading these descriptions, he gained a deeper understanding of the weapons in this world.

Weapons in this world are rated by how many levels of star beasts’ defenses they can break. There are no specific numerical values, so the deviation in weapon power values is relatively large.

As he walked, Xu Bai suddenly saw a Sniper Rifle. Looking at the cards, he found his name on it, stating that Xu Bai had proposed the concept of the Sniper Rifle.

This could be considered his first participation in weapon research, even though he only researched the scope.

Although there were many weapons, after seeing too many, Xu Bai actually couldn’t distinguish good from bad. Before long, Xu Bai felt bored.

Xu Bai looked around, wondering if there were any novel weapons.

From afar, he only saw the Administrator standing in front of a weapon. Xu Bai walked over and stood with him, looking at it.

Looking left and right, this weapon didn’t seem particularly different. He then checked the time; this weapon was researched quite early.

”Is there anything different about this weapon?”

Xu Bai’s voice brought the Administrator back to his senses.

”No,” the Administrator replied to Xu Bai, but seeing Xu Bai’s face, he seemed to remember something and still explained to Xu Bai.

”My father died by this weapon.”

Upon receiving this explanation, Xu Bai was momentarily at a loss for how to react.

Should he offer condolences?

Or should he explain that weapons are innocent, and the fault lies with the person using the weapon?

No, wasn’t it said that he was killed by an exotic beast?

How is it now said that this weapon killed him?

Which of these two statements is true?

Xu Bai was a bit confused. If he couldn’t figure it out himself, he would just ask.

Isn’t a mouth for speaking? He didn’t want to keep guessing.

”Not an exotic beast?”

Hearing this, the Administrator didn’t retort but spoke ambiguously.

”Both.”

Xu Bai: ...Since he didn’t want to answer, then so be it.

There might be many things he didn’t know about this, but so much time had passed, and it didn’t concern him much, so Xu Bai didn’t intend to get to the bottom of it... The others quickly entered work mode after a brief tour.

They split into pairs, began examining and recording weapons, and wrote down the serial numbers of weapons they deemed suitable for drones in their notebooks.

These individuals were all talents in weapon research; most weapons they could tell if they were suitable with just a few glances.

At the same time, many weapons there were ones they could all produce, and they were well aware of their characteristics, so they directly wrote down improvement directions for these weapons.

If Xu Bai had to look alone, it would take him several days. With these assistants, the process was greatly accelerated. In just two hours, they had compiled the list and submitted it to the Administrator.

Next came the selection of ammunition and specific weapon improvements. Xu Bai bid them farewell and returned to his research lab alone.

He had divided the previous research team into two: one team to work on weapons, and the other to continue researching drones.
