Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

265: I am afraid--While they were searching, Shi Anguo, the park’s director, also arrived. He had just been shopping nearby with his female companion and rushed over after seeing the park’s news on his communicator.

Upon arriving, he learned the identities of the two children from the teachers.

At this moment, a wave of regret surged within him. After all, if he hadn’t lent the park to the kindergarten for this outing, this incident wouldn’t have happened.

Alas!

Hindsight is 20/20... Half an hour later, Xu Yuanyuan returned to the park again, wanting to confirm if the children had been found.

Unfortunately, the two children had not been found.

”The two children haven’t been found, but have there been any other discoveries?” Xu Yuanyuan asked breathlessly. She had rushed back from the kindergarten after dropping off the other children, so her breathing was still unsteady.

”No.”

”No.”

”No.”

”I found a clue here.”

This sentence stood out prominently amidst the many ”no”s, and it reignited a spark of hope in everyone’s hearts.

”What clue? Don’t dawdle, speak quickly!” Shi Anguo had no patience left, his tone extremely agitated.

The other party didn’t get angry upon hearing this; after all, everyone was in the same boat now.

Although there wasn’t a system of collective punishment, one couldn’t rule out the possibility of others making things difficult for them. So, if something happened to the two children, their park might be shut down, and if the park was gone, their jobs would be gone too.

”I found a shoe in a patch of grass. It’s a child’s shoe, probably belonging to one of the two missing children. I also saw signs of a struggle near the patch of grass where the shoe was found, I’m afraid—”

The other party didn’t finish the sentence after ”I’m afraid,” but everyone already had a guess.

Kidnapping!

It was likely the two children had been kidnapped!

In fact, when they hadn’t found the two children for so long, they already had a bad feeling. The park was only about the size of a playground. They had searched everywhere, every tree, every patch of grass had been turned over. If the children were still there, they would have been found long ago.

So they thought the two children were either harmed or kidnapped, but considering the children’s identities, they felt the latter was more likely.

Now, hearing what this person said, it further confirmed their thoughts.

Xu Yuanyuan felt like she was taking shallow breaths and getting dizzy. She also thought, if she fainted, would she not have to face the subsequent situation?

Unfortunately, reality didn’t allow her to faint. After all, she was the lead teacher for this outing, and no matter the outcome, she couldn’t escape responsibility.

”Teacher Xu, what should we do now?”

Shi Anguo, the park manager, actually felt a little relieved at this point.

Because the accident involving the two children wasn’t due to the park, but was man-made, which meant that when responsibility was investigated, his park’s responsibility wouldn’t be too great.

At this moment, he even felt a bit like watching a show, and a little schadenfreude.

Actually, he initially wanted to send his son to this kindergarten, but who would have thought that going to this kindergarten required an exam? Not only did the child have to take an exam, but the parents also had to.

The questions in this exam were also very strange. They asked him if his child didn’t sleep during nap time, and the teacher made him stand facing the wall in another area to reflect, would that be acceptable?

Of course, he said no. If his child didn’t want to sleep, he wouldn’t sleep. Why should he face the wall to reflect? If the child wanted to play, he would play; if he wanted to sleep, he would sleep. He was still young, why demand so much from him?

Then, because of these reasons, they said that he and his child were not suitable for their kindergarten.

As a result, he could only hire a nanny to take care of the child at home.

Thinking about it now, Shi Anguo was still a bit angry.

Actually, when the kindergarten wanted to come here for an outing, he initially didn’t want to agree, but his elder brother’s child was also in this kindergarten, and his refusal might displease his elder brother.

One had to know that most of the money he spent now still came from his elder brother, so he could only agree.

Because of this, his elder brother even gave him a sum of money, which was why he could go shopping today... ”Now?” Hearing the park manager’s question, Xu Yuanyuan perked up.

This was not the time to consider fainting or not. It was necessary to immediately inform the children’s parents and also the Guard Team. The current situation was beyond her capabilities.

Xu Yuanyuan sighed and quickly assigned tasks.

”Teacher Lin, Teacher Yu, the two of you take public bicycles and go separately to the two children’s homes to inform their parents. Teacher Zhao, please go find the Guard Team and ask them to come over.”

After Xu Yuanyuan assigned tasks to everyone she could, she then said to the park manager, ”Hello, please have your staff guard all the park entrances to prevent others from entering. Also, have the staff member who just found the shoe take us to the scene, and then we’ll wait for them to arrive.”

Shi Anguo immediately replied, ”Okay.”

Although Shi Anguo wasn’t very eager to help, he still had to keep up appearances. He couldn’t afford to offend the Ji family and Thunderbolt Company...

”Li Yue, please pick up Xu Le today. I have a collaboration to discuss this afternoon.”

Li Yue nodded, indicating that it was no problem.

Ever since Xu Le started kindergarten, one of them would always go with the auntie sent by the Yin family to take care of Xu Le to pick him up.

Xu Le was Xu Bai’s brother, and his only brother at that. His importance was self-evident.

At the same time, after spending this period with Xu Bai, they also knew what kind of person Xu Bai was. In Xu Bai’s eyes, Xu Le was definitely more important than money, so they also regarded Xu Le as more important than the company.

Checking the time, Li Lan and Li Yue planned to change clothes. One needed to go out to pick someone up, and the other needed to go out to discuss business.

”Ding-dong.”

The doorbell rang.

Li Lan looked at the clock on the wall in confusion, confirming the time was correct, while Li Yue walked towards the door.

Opening the door, Li Yue saw that the person standing outside was Xu Le’s kindergarten teacher and quickly asked, ”Teacher, why are you here? Did Xu Le get into a fight with another child?”

Forgive her for not having much experience dealing with teachers; her only experience was when her brother used to get into fights and their parents were called, so her first thought was a fight.

While Li Yue was talking to the teacher, Li Lan also walked over. His intuition told him something had happened. After all, teachers generally wouldn’t come to find parents without any prior notice.

Moreover, Xu Le was still at the kindergarten and hadn’t returned. If they were looking for parents, they should have brought Xu Le along.
