Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

271: not simpleThe other end of the walkie-talkie was Liu Tianshi.

He was a general in Province B’s army, and he had already prepared his men, waiting for Mr. Number Three’s instructions.

After receiving the command to act and the location, he began to arrange his personnel.

After learning that Xu Le had an accident, a large number of people entered Province B to stand by.

Although they now knew the opponent’s lair, they certainly couldn’t act in a high-profile manner, as the opponent still held hostages.

Feng Bao and his team had just returned from a mission not long ago, and they didn’t expect a new mission to be assigned to him so quickly.

At first, he wanted to send his subordinates, but when he heard the mission content and the people to be rescued, he was also very surprised.

He didn’t know Xu Le was on the train during the previous train incident, but now it was clear that two children, Xu Le and Ji Tao, needed to be rescued.

He knew Xu Le and knew that he was Xu Bai’s younger brother, so he accepted the mission without hesitation...

Spreading out the map, Feng Bao communicated with Province B’s staff to confirm the situation of the buildings next to the target building.

This included, but was not limited to, the height of nearby buildings, their prosperity, who they belonged to, and their architectural style.

Why was it necessary to understand these things?

That was because they needed to select suitable sniper locations.

First, they needed to consider avoiding direct sight from the opposite side, using curtains, walls, and other coverings to block the opponent’s line of sight, while also avoiding reflections; the opponent would certainly have people constantly monitoring outside movements, and they could not be discovered by the opponent.

Secondly, they also needed to ensure their own clear vision, avoiding interference from billboards and lampposts to increase the accuracy of the sniping; also, although it was still visible now, after the sun set later, night vision would be poor, so they also needed to ensure lighting, mainly the nearby streetlights.

Another thing to consider was the people; the place they chose was best a place that closed at night, with few people; luckily, the kidnappers chose a half-built construction site, with almost no one nearby, making it less likely for them to accidentally injure others.

After considering multiple factors, Feng Bao chose two locations; he would lead two people, and Ding Fei would lead two people, and they would communicate via walkie-talkie.

They first drove to a place two streets away from their destination, then got out and walked.

While walking, they also had to be alert, observing their surroundings to avoid being discovered.

After the sniper team arrived, they observed the situation inside through the scope of their Sniper Rifles.

Feng Bao and Ding Fei communicated and confirmed that they currently observed 4 people and two children inside; at the same time, they also confirmed the line of sight of the two patrolling personnel, and then reported to the other action team.

The action team leader, upon hearing this, informed his team members, then designated one person to act.

”Sun Yanwu, you can act now.”

Sun Yanwu was very skilled at concealment, so often tasks like gathering intelligence were given to him; he now needed to quietly approach to ascertain the specific personnel situation, as the people outside had limited vision, and if one or two people were missed, the two children would be in danger.

Sun Yanwu quickly approached the building where the kidnappers were, avoiding blind spots, without making a sound.

He certainly wouldn’t use the front door, so he chose an angle and climbed up along the water pipe.

Through the dim light, he first noticed the person near the window observing outside movements; he hid his figure, then entered the house through the window.

One, two... seven.

Sun Yanwu counted the number of people and reported it via walkie-talkie; at the same time, he was now on the ceiling directly above the two children.

He listened to the words coming through his earpiece, waiting for the right moment to act.

At this time, the light gradually dimmed, and the people below needed to light lamps.

Perhaps to avoid being seen, they dared not turn on flashlights, only lit candles.

Since the discovery of electric lights, people seemed to have grown tired of the darkness of night, and the demand for electric lights was for them to be as bright as possible, so basically, once the light was turned on, it could illuminate an entire room.

And this was a half-built construction site; if light was emitted at night, it would be very conspicuous.

What’s more, they had kidnapped two children with prominent identities, and the Guard Team would certainly be searching at night; they didn’t want to be found.

The moment the candle was lit, Sun Yanwu saw a glow in one kidnapper’s eyes, but soon, this glow disappeared.

Was the glow in the opponent’s eyes emitted from his eyes, or was it a reflection of the candlelight? Sun Yanwu closed his eyes and recalled.

Something felt wrong.

He dared not ignore it; realizing this anomaly, he immediately quietly reported his discovery to the leader.

The action team leader, upon hearing Sun Yanwu’s report, felt a tightening in his heart; he first paused the planned action, and the others, of course, followed orders immediately, staying put.

He knew a bit more information than others, so he took out his communicator and contacted Mr. Number Three.

When Mr. Number Three heard this news, he made a decision.

The mission’s priority was to protect the lives of the two children; secondly, to capture the person whose eyes glowed alive.

”Yes.”

The action leader obeyed...

After giving the order, he took Xu Bai to another room, needing to talk to him privately.

”Xiao Bai, I need to tell you something: the kidnapping of Xu Le is not simple.”

”Has something unexpected happened?”

”Currently, there have been no accidents, but we found that one of the kidnappers is not simple.”

”Not simple?”

Xu Bai was a little puzzled; what could be not simple? Could it be that the identity of the group who kidnapped Xu Le was not simple? And Mr. Number Three was communicating with him now to seek his forgiveness?

Thinking of this, Xu Bai’s face tensed, then he asked directly.

”Does he have some prominent identity? Or is he a very powerful Card-Making Master?”

As he spoke, Xu Bai’s face grew darker and darker; he was thinking if Mr. Number Three would hesitate and cause an accident to Xu Le, which he did not want to see.

Mr. Number Three also understood the meaning in Xu Bai’s words, so he directly explained.

”You’ve misunderstood; it’s not what you think; the other party might be connected to an exotic beast.”

”Exotic beast?”

Xu Bai was a little surprised, as in his view, exotic beasts were like animals, without much intelligence, unable to communicate normally with humans.

However, exotic beasts and animals were also very different; as far as he knew, exotic beasts had greater destructive power and were more numerous, posing a very great danger to humans.

Currently, in the confrontation between exotic beasts and humans, generally speaking, exotic beasts had the upper hand.
