Technological Empire Starts From Shanzhai System

Chapter 276: VIA-C3 Processor
Chapter 276 VIA-C3 Processor

But in the eyes of people in the industry, this is not a surprising behavior, but a matter of course.

Although in the eyes of outsiders, Intel and A.M.D are endless enemies, and there is absolutely no possibility of cooperation between the two companies, but is it really not?

The two companies do have a competitive relationship, but there is also an invisible tacit understanding between the two companies, so ”fighting without breaking” is a tacit understanding between the two companies for many years.

At this time, the two husband and wife bosses of Weisheng Electronics did not know that, along with the president of Intel, Paul Oldspoll, he called Bill Gayci and the president of A.M.D.

The next small conference in the chip industry will be held soon, and this conference may have an important impact on the global computer market.

…

The other side.

People all over the country transferred from Shanghai to Rongcheng, Sichuan Province because of the head of Weisheng Electronics Co., Ltd. and his wife.

When they guessed that they might reach a cooperation with Hantang Technology, there was a lot of discussion and even excitement.

The two goals that made them excited, the head of Hantang Technology and Weisheng Electronics officially met!

At this time, the place where the heads of the two companies met was not at the headquarters of Hantang Technology, nor was it in a large luxury hotel.

At this time, the place where the heads of the two companies met was in the villa of Lin Xuan of Hantang Technology.

This is Lin Xuan’s first batch of guests other than his sister, mother and nanny to come to his house since time travel.

”excuse me.”

Entering the door of Lin Xuan’s villa, at this time, the head of Weisheng Electronics, that is, the general manager, Mr. Shen, said softly.

Lin Xuan shook his head slightly, then invited with a smile:

”Come on, Mr. Shen and Ms. Huang, today I invite you to have a good family dinner. This time I invited the most famous chef in Rongcheng to cook for us.”

Besides, the wife of Weisheng Electronics, the chairman of Weisheng Electronics, Ms. Huang also smiled and said:

”Is it the most famous chef in Rongcheng? Well, let’s taste what the famous Sichuan cuisine in Sichuan Province is like, and let me see which ”Sichuan cuisine” is more delicious.”

Hearing Ms. Huang’s words, Lin Xuan also smiled and said:

”The Sichuan cuisine that is called Sichuan cuisine outside is not as delicious as that in Sichuan Province, so please look forward to it.”

”Hahaha…”

Mr. Shen and Ms. Wang who heard Lin Xuan’s words couldn’t help laughing.

But while laughing, the two couples looked at each other with a bit of surprise and flattery.

The richest man in Daxia, Lin Xuan, treated them so favorably, and the place of this negotiation was not the headquarters of Hantang Technology Company or a large luxury hotel.

Instead, they put the negotiation venue at Lin Xuan’s home. It has to be said that Lin Xuan’s behavior made the two couples a little surprised and flattered.

Although they were a little surprised, they still responded to Lin Xuan’s reception politely.

So the two parties finished the luncheon with a lot of laughs and conversations. Since neither party talked about the company’s business, the two parties enjoyed the meal this time.

…

Soon after the meal, the two parties came to the sofa and watched the nanny slowly tidy up the tableware.

was looking up at the TV, and Ms. Huang, who was actually staring blankly, finally couldn’t help it anymore. She turned her head and said with a smile:

”To be honest, we were a little surprised that we were able to receive such a warm reception this time.”

”Where, usually it’s just a home-cooked meal.”

Lin Xuan waved his hand. In fact, such home-cooked food is not home-cooked.

Lin Xuan is a very frugal person, and he will not waste money meaninglessly.

He does not pursue too much in terms of food, so his usual meal is 3 dishes and 1 soup.

In terms of food, the materials are better than ordinary families, and they are cleaner and more hygienic. If it is said, people probably don’t believe that the richest man in Daxia is so economical.

I don’t know that Lin Xuan’s monthly food expenses are actually less than 10,000 yuan.

So the meal in front of me is not a home-cooked meal, and the actual money spent is enough for Lin Xuan to spend on food for several months. It is a rare big meal!

While Lin Xuan was waving his hands, he didn’t stop talking. He smiled and said:

”To be honest, I rarely invite outsiders to my house, but this time I invited you.

Because you are rare patriots and people with lofty ideals who really want to revitalize the Daxia chip industry. ”

Hearing that Lin Xuan was going to wear a big hat for them, Mr. Shen from Weisheng Electronics hurriedly shook his head and said modestly:

”Our tricks are no match for Mr. Lin Xuan. These are rumors from the outside world, and they are not trustworthy.”

It is not a good thing for Lin Xuan to label them as a patriotic and ambitious person as soon as he comes.

The two parties are currently negotiating the authorization of the X86 instruction set. If it is true, Lin Xuan’s label of a patriotic and ambitious person is true.

Then if Weisheng Electronics asks for too high a price, then the husband and wife are not patriotic, and they are despicable guys who take advantage of the national crisis to make money.

So this big hat can’t be worn!

Shaking his head slightly, Lin Xuan asked with a smile:

”I’m really happy that Mr. Shen and Ms. Huang can come here this time, presumably the two of you have already made preparations before coming here.

I don’t know how much Weisheng Electronics will spend this time to transfer the X86 instruction set to Hantang Technology. ”

Hearing Lin Xuan’s words, the two bosses of Weisheng Electronics, Mr. Shen and Ms. Huang, looked at each other, and then Mr. Shen slowly said:

”This time we really intend to transfer the X86 instruction set, but in terms of price...”

Mr. Shen suddenly stopped talking at this point, apparently wanting Lin Xuan to be mentally prepared.

Lin Xuan frowned slightly, but he didn’t say what it was, but asked slowly:

”I wonder how much your company wants?”

Hearing Lin Xuan’s words, Mr. Shen from Weisheng Electronics narrowed his eyes and said:

”I heard rumors that your company is negotiating with Intel Corporation President Paul Olds.

Your company was willing to pay 300 million US dollars in cash to purchase Intel’s X86 instruction set license. I wonder if this is true or not? ”

”This thing is true.”

Hearing the words of Mr. Shen opposite, Lin Xuan was slightly surprised.

But since the other party knew it, there was no need to hide it, so Lin Xuan readily admitted it.

Accepted by Lin Xuan, Mr. Shen, the general manager of Weisheng Electronics, smiled at the corner of his mouth, and then asked:

”After that, Hantang Technology promised to give up the permanent free right to use the WIPI wireless LAN patent. Is this true?”

”This thing is also true.”

I didn’t expect the other party to inquire about the news to such an extent, and I don’t know which party revealed the news.

If the news is revealed by Hantang Technology, then Lin Xuan will definitely fire the person who revealed the news.

But thinking that it might be the information disclosed by the employees of Intel, Lin Xuan could only admit it honestly.

”At present, there are only four companies in the world that hold the authorization of the X86 instruction set.

Besides Weisheng Electronics, there are only three companies left: IDT, IBM, and A.M.D, so...”

Hearing Mr. Shen’s words, Lin Xuan’s complexion was not as good as before. Lin Xuan asked slowly with a sullen face:

”I don’t know what Weisheng Electronics wants?”

A lot of nonsense for nothing more than trying to raise prices.

At this time, Mr. Shen narrowed his eyes slightly, and then slowly said their chips:

”We don’t want many things, we just want to get what Hantang Technology once promised to Intel.”

”Do you want 300 million US dollars plus permanent free use of the current WIPI wireless LAN patent?”

Hearing Mr. Shen’s words, Lin Xuan’s fingers lightly tapped the table in his hand.

But at this time, Lin Xuan’s secretary Chen He saw Mr. Shen who was talking loudly and Ms. Huang who was silent. He finally couldn’t help asking:

”Aren’t you too greedy? We were willing to spend 300 million US dollars to buy the X86 license from Intel, and we were even willing to pay for the permanent free license of the WIPI wireless LAN patent.

This is because Hantang Technology can obtain a relatively complete X86 instruction set patent from Intel.

That is to say, after obtaining the patent, we can immediately develop chips with the X86 instruction set, and there is no need to worry about the future.

But what about your X86 instruction set? ! Your X86 instruction set has not been updated since 1992, right?

It can be said that your current instruction set is actually still at the level of the 586 processor back then.

In this case, many of the newly developed X86 instruction sets have not been authorized for development at all, so you are asking for some lions. ”

Chen He’s words seemed to have some effect. At this time, Mr. Shen and his wife, Ms. Huang, looked at each other with embarrassment in their eyes.

But businessmen, business is business.

Although the two sides talked quite friendly and talked and laughed before, interests are interests, and they are the big bosses of Weisheng Electronics Company.

But they are only the largest major shareholders, behind them there are huge employees and other major shareholders.

”Here, $250 million and a perpetual license to WIPI’s wireless LAN patents.”

Chen He’s words seemed to have an effect. At this time, Mr. Shen took the initiative to reduce the amount by 50 million US dollars in the face of his questioning.

Regarding this, Lin Xuan shook his head slightly.

However, he didn’t say his bargaining chip all at once, but changed the subject to other aspects:

”May I ask?

Weisheng Electronics successfully obtained the X86 instruction set by acquiring two other companies in 1999. Why has it not launched the X86 instruction set processor and competed with Intel and A.M.D. ”

Mr. Shen and Ms. Huang heard Lin Xuan’s words, and they looked at each other again, with helpless bitterness in their eyes.

At this time, Mr. Shen sighed, and then said helplessly:

“By in-depth cooperation with A.M.D company, our motherboard chipset had a market share as high as 30% of the global market at one point, which can be said to have reached its limit.

Finally, our husband and wife decided to enter other industries to make Weisheng Electronics stronger, but when we were preparing to enter other industries.

We got a message from our old buddy A.M.D company that Cyrix and Centaur companies are on the verge of bankruptcy.

So when we were at the peak of our business, we started to think carefully, thinking about entering the field of general-purpose processors and creating Daxia’s own ”Daxia core”.

As a result, we spent a huge price to acquire these two companies, and one year later, in 2001, we successfully launched VIA-C3, the first X86 instruction set processor with independent knowledge in Bay Island.
