Technological Empire Starts From Shanzhai System

Chapter 275: Weisheng Electronics against the wind
Chapter 275 Weisheng Electronics Committed Against the Wind

Because Intel has too many patents on the X86 instruction set system, other companies who want to develop processors may touch one of the spider webs at any time, and then infringe Intel’s patents.

In this case, it is equivalent to wearing shackles and fighting with Intel. In this case, how can other companies beat Intel?

Faced with this situation of dancing in shackles, there is currently only A.M.D company in the world that can fight with Intel without worrying about their own demise.

Because A.M.D was the first to launch a 64-bit processor that year, A.M.D also has a large number of 64-bit processor patents for the X86 instruction set.

As the company that later developed and launched 64-bit processors, Intel was also forced to use a large number of 64-bit processor patents from A.M.D.

In this case, both parties hold each other’s core patents and key technologies, and the two sides dare not start a patent war again, which will affect the whole body.

After all, both parties hold and use the other party’s core patents, and both parties have their hands in the hands of the other party. If you sue others, others will also sue you. In the end, everyone has to play it out.

So under the threat of the iron fist of the anti-monopoly law, Intel Corporation has been since the new century, or since A.M.D Corporation first introduced 64-bit processors.

Intel was forced to pinch its nose and swallow A.M.D’s 64-bit X86 instruction set architecture, and the two CPU processor companies never set off any large-scale patent lawsuits. This situation did not happen until 2022!

But in the face of Hantang Technology, Intel will not turn a blind eye and close one eye, but will go all out to suppress Hantang Technology!

Just like Intel’s efforts to suppress A.M.D., even if a lawsuit has been fought for ten years, Intel is biting Hantang Technology like a mad dog.

So at this time, Intel is sure to win, and it doesn’t pay attention to Hantang Technology at all!

I dare not say anything about other fields, but Intel is undoubtedly the king in the field of general-purpose CPU processors.

Although Hantang Technology is very large, the total number of employees in many subsidiaries has reached nearly 70,000, which is also the strength of a super state-owned enterprise in Daxia.

But in the field of general-purpose CPU processors, Intel is undoubtedly the king, but at this time such a king regards Hantang Technology as a thorn in the side.

All-out suppression, all-out containment, all-out targeting...

In this case, Hantang Technology wants to develop CPU, it is really difficult to describe...

…

June 7th, 2005. On this day, the Internet was still discussing about Hantang Technology and whether it was possible for Hantang Technology to successfully develop a computer CPU.

At the Modu Airport, a reporter from Modu Times photographed the husband and wife of the head of the Wandao VIA (Weisheng Electronics) company landing in Shanghai and transferring to Rongcheng, Sichuan Province for news.

As soon as the news came out, it immediately attracted the attention of countless media.

So that night, the major media and even the Internet media reprinted the news report of the Modu Times.

So the Shanghai Times once again became famous all over the country. The Times published two big news that exploded across the country. Countless media colleagues envied the Times’ good luck.

In this case, as major newspapers and even Internet media reprinted articles from the Shanghai Times.

All parts of the country are falling into despair, and the eyes of those who think that Hantang Technology is absolutely impossible to successfully develop CPUs shine.

The chairman’s wife and general manager of VIA (Weisheng Electronics) in Wandao, Mr. Shen, actually flew directly from Wandao to Shanghai, and then changed planes in Shanghai to Rongcheng, Sichuan Province!

What is the purpose of Weisheng Electronics? Naturally, people can see it at a glance. Their purpose must be to find Hantang Technology!

Before, Hantang Technology failed to obtain the X86 instruction set from Intel, but it made countless people depressed and even despaired, thinking that Daxia would never be able to manufacture a computer CPU.

And then Intel’s president, Paul Odess, also said three ”absolutely not allowed”.

Those three ”never allowed” attitudes were too tough, making countless people who heard Paul Odes’s words even more depressed and desperate.

At this time, there are only 4 companies left in the world. Weisheng Electronics, which still holds the X86 instruction set and is the most powerful to win the third largest CPU manufacturing company in the world, found Hantang Technology.

Doesn’t this mean that if Hantang Technology can reach a cooperation with Weisheng Electronics, then Hantang Technology may be able to obtain the production authorization of the X86 instruction set from Weisheng Electronics, and finally manufacture the first computer CPU in Daxia!

Countless people who are in despair saw this news, as if they were in **** but saw the warm light of heaven.

The darkness in my heart was instantly dispelled, and I turned to be curious about whether Hantang Technology can cooperate with Weisheng Electronics.

But people at this time don’t know that Weisheng Electronics, a later generation, also had a joint venture with Daxia Ziben in 2013.

Weisheng Electronics released the X86 instruction set architecture and related processor patents, while Daxia Ziben provided money, scientific research personnel, and equipment, and finally established Zhaoxin, which is also well-known in later generations.

Zhaoxin did not disappoint after its establishment. It took 6 years of research and development, and finally launched Daxia’s first CPU with X86 instruction set in 2019.

However, although Zhaoxin launched Daxia’s first X86 instruction set CPU with independent intellectual property rights, its performance is very weak.

Not to mention the I5 or I7 processors of the Intel Core series, even the weakest I3 cannot win.

And the inability to win means that it is not as good as Intel’s Core i3 processor more than 10 years ago, so it goes without saying that the processor launched by Zhaoxin is weak.

However, Zhaoxin cannot be blamed for this, because Zhaoxin’s instruction set is still the instruction set of the 486 or even 586 era in the early 1990s.

In the past ten or twenty years, the X86 instruction set of the processor has undergone earth-shaking changes.

Because Zhaoxin was unable to obtain the authorization of the instruction set introduced by Intel and A.M.D over the years.

And wanting to develop a new processor with a new instruction set is equivalent to dancing in shackles. They have to be careful when moving back and forth.

There cannot be any possibility of infringing the patents of Intel and A.M.D. After all, Zhaoxin cannot afford to pay patent fees.

I can’t afford the ten-year lawsuit between Intel and A.M.D. I don’t have that strength.

Once Zhaoxin falls into the ten-year lawsuit between Intel and A.M.D., it will seriously drag down the development of Zhaoxin.

So their processors can do that well, and it is very difficult to surpass Intel.

However, it is better to have than to have nothing, and Da Xia can be regarded as solving the problem of having and not having in later generations.

Although this processor is too rubbish, people will not buy Zhaoxin processors at all, but it solves the problem of having or not anyway.

So Zhaoxin and Godson of later generations are the two pillars of the domestic computer CPU processor industry.

…

Mediguo, Silicon Valley, in the office of the president of Intel.

Paul Olds saw the news in the newspaper today that Weisheng Electronics on Daxiawan Island was going to Rongcheng, Sichuan Province, and might reach an X86 instruction set authorization with Hantang Technology, he was instantly furious!

”Damn Weisheng Electronics, you dare to commit crimes against the wind, it seems that the lessons of the year are not deep enough!”

Regarding this Weisheng Electronics, Intel was also nervous once.

Because they acquired two companies holding the X86 instruction set in 1999, they obtained the production authorization of the X86 instruction set and have the potential to become the world’s third largest CPU manufacturing company.

So at the beginning, Intel was nervous and worried that this seemingly powerful company would launch a powerful processor, and then there would be another A.M.D counterattack.

So in the second year after Weisheng Electronics successfully acquired the two companies, Intel immediately suppressed it after collecting evidence.

So the processor patent case that has been recorded in the history of the Bay Island chip industry broke out, and Intel sued Weisheng Electronics for many years.

The outbreak of this large-scale patent lawsuit also successfully dispelled Weisheng Electronics’ determination to aggressively enter the field of general-purpose processors.

In addition to launching a weak X86 processor in 2001, the next-generation processor development plan was also cancelled.

So the ending became the current ending. In the end, only the processors of Intel and A.M.D are left in the market.

The next-generation processor of Weisheng Electronics has not been launched, and it has been stranded for nearly 45 years.

Of course, it may not be that simple why Weisheng Electronics, which was obviously not very strong at the beginning, was able to acquire two companies with X86 instruction set authorization at the same time.

Maybe Intel deliberately let Weisheng Electronics acquire those two companies back then, and then played a game of unloading and killing the donkey after the matter was completed...

But no matter what happened back then, it is impossible to study now, and this is not what Lin Xuan cares about.

Lin Xuan is concerned about the fact that Weisheng Electronics still holds the X86 instruction set.

”This Weisheng Electronics dared to commit crimes against the wind, no way!

They must face a devastating blow. ”

It has to be said that Weisheng Electronics went to Rongcheng, Sichuan Province, which has deeply angered Intel’s president, Paul Olds, and made him angry at Weisheng Electronics.

So the two husband and wife bosses of Weisheng Electronics at this time may not know that their behavior of going to Rongcheng, Sichuan Province has ushered in a devastating blow to them.

However, they are willing to take great risks to visit Rongcheng, Sichuan Province under the three ”never allowed” threats.

They may have been prepared in their hearts, of course, they may not know this, and they don’t know the contradiction between Hantang Technology and Paul Olds.

But no one knows exactly what the two couples thought, but this did not prevent Paul Olds from picking up the phone.

The other side of the phone is an important pillar of Weisheng Electronics’ chipset business, the president of A.M.D and Bill Cover, the president of Weisoft Systems.

Paul Olds’s call to Bill Gheci was fine, but he actually called the president of A.M.D. What he said was enough to surprise people.
