System vs Rebirth

Chapter 1550: Testimony

”The royal family did all that?”

”I never thought the royal family was so corrupt.”

”How could I believe the royal family again after this?”

”Shouldnʼt the Grand Duke just take over the Muivell Kingdom at this point?”

”I know, right? The Grand Duke has the strength and qualities to become a king. He is rumored to be a spirit king, and his land is known as a paradise.”

The people were whispering. Oscar couldnʼt help but furrow his eyebrows. Conrad had definitely brought a lot of trouble to this execution place.

Josephine was definitely feeling delighted because her last words would incite a rebellion. But Conrad did the unthinkable.

It was normal for the royal family to deny all these accusations and repair everything from the inside so that no one would know about it. And the loss of trust wouldnʼt need to occur.

However, Conrad actually confirmed it. ”Indeed. Although I couldnʼt agree with everything you said, the creation of the Supreme Devil Organization originated from the late king, Isaac Ve Lenfenth. The late grandfather of the current queen, Wendy Ve Lenfenth.”

”!!!” Josephine and Oscar widened their eyes, not expecting Conrad to reveal it.

His words shocked everyone. Before they could discuss what was going on, Conrad continued, ”This was the plot of the demon king, who possessed King Isaac. By using that body, he created the Supreme Devil Organization.

”Due to the strong influence of King Isaac, he became the perfect target for the demon king. The previous king, King Oliver, had done his best to prevent it from happening again.

”I believed everyone had seen how the Muivell Kingdom prospered under his reign, at least the first few years of his reign. He was a wise king.

”The same applied to the former third prince, who is now the current host of the demon king. Led by the Ardagan family, the resistance against the demon king has been ongoing for decades.

”After knowing that the third prince had been controlled and becoming the new host of the demon king, the Ardagan family was pulled out.

”Afraid that the Ardagan family had been compromised, King Oliver executed Luke Ardagan and Leysha Ezenholm as well as the third prince.

”Unfortunately, it had been discovered that everything was not true, so the royal family would like to extend its apologies to the Ardagan family. The queen would directly come to the Ardagan family to apologize, but this is not the matter right now.

”Knowing that he was in danger, the demon king had to control King Oliver, which became the darkest hour of this kingdom. King Oliver turned into a demonic human, which was the reason the kingdom went into decline.

”Using King Oliverʼs body, the demon tried to expand its influence under everyoneʼs nose. However, the current queen managed to stop everything.

”Some of you might have heard about the raid on a lot of nobles led directly by the chief of Arbiter, Evan Lorelei.

”There is one raid that is currently ongoing, which is the raid on the Tower Association as well as the raid on the few members of the arbiters.”

The people were stunned. They never thought Conrad would drop such a bombshell.

Josephine was even more shocked. That was a bullshit story. She knew that while King Isaac was the one who created the organization, that wasnʼt the true story.

The royal family was corrupt from the inside, not because of the demons.

But Conrad… no, Wendy was using it to paint the demons as the true culprit.

”You canʼt be serious. You—!”

Before she could speak, Conrad simply extended his hand, pointing it toward Oscar. ”The Demon Banner Army Commander should be able to shed some light on this matter. Now that the Supreme Devil Organization has been eradicated by the joint force of the royal army, the Ardagan family, and the Demon Banner Army…

”Commander Oscar. You must have known that several arbiters have been compromised, yes or no?”

”Is that an interrogation, Marshal Conrad?” Oscar squinted his eyes.

”No. But I believe the people would like to know the truth, Commander Oscar. Now that the organization has been eliminated, there is no need to keep it a secret anymore, right?”

Oscar paused for a moment before saying, ”Yes.”

His answer shook the peopleʼs hearts. With Oscarʼs confirmation, it was basically proof that the story was correct.

However, Conrad skillfully asked the question about the members, not the entire story. The story was a mix of lies and truth. Hence, he used the truth to paint the remaining lies as the truth.

”Then, do you know that several elders from the Tower Association have also been compromised?”

”Yes, I do.” Oscar looked angry this time. ”Because of them, we lost our Demon Beholder Squad Captain.”

The people became restless. With this confirmation, the doubt that remained in their hearts had vanished. The atmosphere became chaotic, so Josephine had to change the narrative again.

”You—”

Unfortunately, Conrad had played his cards correctly. The moment the situation became unconducive, Oscar used his power. ”Silence!”

His shout stopped people from talking, including Josephine, who was about to fight back.

Conrad added, ”With the ongoing raid, the current queen wishes to uproot everything that has been compromised by the demons. The grand hearing will be conducted in one week.

”And I am here to witness the execution of the last officer of the Supreme Devil Organization, Josephine.”

The atmosphere had been painted completely. There might be a loss of trust, but as long as the grand hearing was held and everything was revealed, the loss could be minimized, and the trust could be restored gradually in the future.

This was the outcome that Wendy wanted. And these people would first spread the rumors from mouth to mouth, which would turn the lies into the truth.

Anna was amused. ”This… This is… I donʼt know what to say…”

Noel let out a long sigh. ”Well, I guess itʼs time to get my payment.”

”Payment?”

Noel just smiled as if he had another scheme in his mind.
