Chapter 1510: Three Guardians

The news of Noel’s true strength shocked all four kingdoms. The Muivell Kingdom, which personally witnessed that power, was scared. This was an uncontrollable power given to a single human.

However, Duke Lorelei was never going to make Noel his enemy. Even Marshall Conrad had realized it wasn’t wise for them to make him an enemy.

As long as these two remained, they would ensure that the Muivell Kingdom would always be Noel’s ally. Of course, it wasn’t like Noel planned to destroy his own kingdom or usurp the throne.

On the other hand, the Greenwood Kingdom had realized the severity of the mistake they had made. It was supposed to be a small mistake that could be fixed, but Noel had taken it to a whole new level.

”It looks like the world is going to be centered around him.” Raincart smiled wryly. ”My grandson... Originally, I was angry when Leysha married a rural noble from the Muivell Kingdom, but in the end, it was probably the correct choice.

”She was happy. That was all that mattered to me. And now, thanks to her son, I was able to achieve all this... something that I will probably never use.

”What’s the use of having power, influence, wealth... when you can’t even enjoy it, especially with your loved ones.”

Raymond closed his eyes for a moment. When he opened it again, his eyes glistened. ”I just hope that he doesn’t get blinded by his own power. Even if my power is minuscule compared to his, if I see any sign of him getting drunk on his own power, I will come as his grandfather even if that is the last time I will see him as my grandson.

”But before that, I hope you are doing well, my beloved grandson. Soar to the sky.”

...

Zaecuria Kingdom.

”Your Majesty... This is...”

”I know.” The king waved his hand. ”That’s why I sent the prime minister to go there. Has he gotten this information as well?”

”Yes.”𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

”Then, all we can do is wait.” The king nodded with a serious expression. ”Although we don’t know how strong Duke Evan Lorelei is, we know how strong the watchdog of the Muivell Kingdom is.”

One of the three guardians, Fradania, the woman that Anna and Noel met once during their visit to the Zaecuria Kingdom, couldn’t help but nod. ”Indeed. Conrad might be stiff, but his strength is the real deal. He, in the end, is even stronger than the captain of the Demon Banner Army and even equal to the Grand Judge, right, Old Man?”

”Old man? Please conduct yourself befitting your power.” An old man with a long gray beard shook his head helplessly. While stroking his beard, he nodded. ”I know. When Conrad rose through the ranks, we were paying attention to him carefully. However, the previous king couldn’t utilize him properly.

”Now that the dog has been released, the watchdog will now turn into a hunting dog.” The old man was also one of the three guardians of the Zaecuria Kingdom, titled Grand Judge. The oldest as well as the strongest among the guardians, Adrian Rencainster.

”Still, what will happen then? Well, that also means we have to be careful. If we are going to befriend him, we have to consider the possibility of the demon king, as he mentioned.” A muscular middle-aged man nodded. ”Your Majesty.”

”Is there something wrong, Loadstar?” The king frowned. The last person within this room was none other than the last guardian, the protector of the sea, the person who controlled the navy of the country.

Loadstar nodded. ”Yes. I have received word from one of the admirals regarding a certain movement on the sea. The demons simply vanished as if they were retreating. I’m afraid...”

”They are being recalled?” The king frowned.

”That’s our assumption, Your Majesty.”

Fradania let out a long sigh. ”What a sad time to be alive. Is there a demon king in the sea?”

”According to Noel Ardagan, there is... or there are. We don’t know of their existence.” Grand Judge nodded. ”Still, I have lived long enough. To think I would be able to fight against a demon king at the last moment of my life. Well, I consider this a bonus.”

”What bonus? I still want to live for a long time. Besides, you said you were at the last moment of your life 20 years ago, and look at you right now, still living healthy.” Fradania clicked her tongue.

The Grand Judge shrugged. ”You just enjoy life. Hahahaha.”

”Enough with the small talk. Let’s focus on the business, shall we?”

”Understood. I will ask my men to spread out and scout the sea. In the event that something happens, I’ll be alerted immediately. If necessary, I will personally go there to confirm the situation,” shared Loadstar of his intention.

”I will stick with you, Your Majesty. As usual... Maybe a bit more than usual. The demons have become clever recently, so I should be there to ensure your safety. Even though the three of us are stronger than you, you are still the head of this kingdom. We can’t afford to have anything happen to you.” Fradania sighed as if she were feeling tired.

The Grand Judge nodded. ”If that’s the case, I will head to the grand library. I will access all the old records to see if anything is recorded about the demon kings.”

”If you find anything, share it with us right away.” The king paused for a moment. ”If the demon kings are indeed equal to the spirit kings, we know what will happen if Noel Ardagan loses.

”And after seeing how the demons become clever, we have to be extra careful. Loadstar, I will grant you a special right to move all the navy at your discretion; treat it as if we are at war.”

”Understood.” Both the Grand Judge and Loadstar bowed politely.

If the three guardians decided to rebel, no one could stop them. Normally, the king would have one or two guardians attached to the royal family, but the current king was different. Rather than attaching them, he let them have a portion of control.

Yet, despite having that power, they didn’t betray him. It wasn’t because of loyalty. The king simply made a system where if they decided to rebel, the other two would be joining hands to kill that person.

Thanks to this system, he managed to draw out 120% of their power through the subtle rivalry between them.

And it was time to draw out that 120% to handle the current situation.
