Chapter 1543: Choice

Now that Anna had joined the battle, the tide changed completely.

Noel leaped toward the sky demon king before swinging his sword. The icy blue flame flew toward the demon king.

The sky demon king flapped his wings to generate the wind while raising his hands to control the flow of the wind.

This wind was as powerful as the first attack he made, which carried all his momentum. In other words, the sky demon king had no choice but to draw on the berserk power to match Noelʼs ability.

”Kh.” The sky demon king had never seen something like this. Even when he fought Alexander Ardagan, he never saw Alexander suddenly becoming stronger during the fight.

Yet, not only his strength but also his speed and spiritual energy increased. It was at the level of a spirit king, so even a 1% increase was noticeable.

The addition of Anna was enough to overturn the battle.

Still, Noel was not in perfect condition. That was why the sky demon kingʼs power was able to disperse his flame.

Unfortunately for him, Noel emerged from the dispersing flame and struck him, forcing the sky demon king to use his claw to clash with his blade.

Anna, on the other hand, gathered her lightning in two spots.

ʼAre you ready?ʼ Anna asked inwardly.

ʼOf course. I want to see how strong the demon king is. It wonʼt be like the previous life, right?ʼ

ʼDefinitely.ʼ

The original Anna released all the violent energy both at the tip of the sword as well as at the feet.

Anna aimed at the sky demon king before launching herself forward.

”!!!” The sky demon king could feel Annaʼs presence coming from the right. She moved like lightning, passing him in an instant.

During that time, her sword reached the demon king.

Blood flowed out of its back as a wound was opened.

”...” Anna slid on the ground to stop her momentum. She couldnʼt help but look at her sword, noticing something.

ʼSo, this is a demon king.ʼ The original Anna had poured everything she had, yet the damage was less than she was expecting.

At the last moment, the demon king erected a small barrier, which resisted their attacks. It was no wonder that the land demon king and the supreme devil could only run away from Noel in the previous battle.

The gap between the spirit king and the spirit transcendence with the king path was extremely huge.

ʼYeah. Thatʼs why Noel wants us to focus on hitting him and chipping away at his strength. He knows that we will be severely injured just by taking a single attack from him.ʼ Anna nodded in agreement.

Her role was the same as the land demon kingʼs when he was working together with the sky demon king.

Noel would stop the demon king from harming Anna and distract him as much as possible.

Both Anna and the original Anna had gauged the sky demon kingʼs strength. They could see what they should do next.

Anna recharged her power, waiting for the right opportunity to attack.

Meanwhile, the sky demon king was getting frustrated. This battle wasnʼt supposed to go on like this. No, Noel was supposed to be the one suffering from the land demon kingʼs attack.

Yet, for some reason, all the plans they had devised were crumbling.

ʼWhat is going on?ʼ The sky demon king was assessing the current situation. ʼOur battle has reached a stalemate. If this continues, this human will be able to last longer than I do because of that pesky woman.

ʼShould I just risk everything and kill his woman? No, I donʼt plan on dying.ʼ The sky demon king was facing a dilemma.

On the one hand, he thought about retreating. On the other hand, he didnʼt want to let this chance pass.

If he continued, someone had to break the deadlock. But the problem was that they didnʼt have any more cards to play.

Noel Ardagan seemed to have revealed all his cards as well. In other words, if they continued, it would be a battle of endurance.

Noel might be injured, but if he continued this fight for a longer time, Noelʼs condition would be bad, but he would face the same problem because of Anna.

The land demon king and the supreme devil didnʼt seem to be able to defeat their respective enemies.

Oscar might not have the king path, but whether it was his strategy or his power, it was specialized in defense.

Hence, he was able to stop the supreme devil. Of course, the supreme devil could kill Oscar, but it would take far too long.

In other words, the best choice was to retreat. The sky demon king couldnʼt defeat Noel in time. The same applied to the supreme devil.

This failure was entirely on the land demon kingʼs part. The sky demon king didnʼt know that Noel had all these people helping him.

The land demon king didnʼt have time to bring more ancient demons to their side because they had lost so many ancient demons in the previous battles.

After all, in the previous battles alone, they lost 2 ancient demons, the one before that was even more horrible.

And the Beast Kingdom was also crushing some ancient demons.

As a result, there werenʼt many ancient demons left for them to gather unless they went deeper into the territory.

But before they could do it, Noel had come to attack, leaving them with no time. If they stalled too long, Noel would recover. If they chose to engage, they wouldnʼt have enough ancient demons.

Right now, they thought they were able to gain the upper hand, but it turned out they couldnʼt.

This was the current situation.

In other words, the sky demon king had very little chance of winning. And even if he could, he would end up dying. That wasnʼt the price he was willing to pay, especially when the land demon king asked him.

He had helped the land demon king one thousand years ago, and Alexander Ardagan almost killed him. So, he didnʼt plan on repeating the same mistake.

After fighting Noel for a few more minutes, the sky demon king made the decision. ”Retreat!”
