Chapter 1530: Attack

”The first division seems to have disembarked. The airship is about to rejoin us.”

”The first outer division has also disembarked. The airship is about to fly back.”

Ophelia received the reports from her subordinates with a serious expression. Her task was a lot today.

Observe the battle, provide support from the sky, and ensure the success of each battle. If she let down her guard just for a moment, something might go awry.

Besides, there was no one else on the ship. Noel and Rui had gone down.

Khalid was mumbling again and again as Noelʼs doctor. He had been tasked with ensuring Noel didnʼt overstretch himself.

Although Noel had agreed not to use his power unless it was necessary, Noel still jumped off the ship.

Their plan was simple. Noelʼs main army would lead the attack, which meant the demons would come toward them.

Then, the left and right wings would pincer the demons.

There was no way their opponent didnʼt expect them. With Noelʼs current strength, he would definitely launch a counterattack.

Abel began their plan. ”First Division. You are the most elite army of the Ardagan family. Let us show our strength. Itʼs time to hunt!”

”Oohh!”

The soldiers cheered as they began marching forward. The speed of their march was extremely fast.

The goal was supposed to be the base inside the hill. But the area was covered in swamp, and the other side was covered with forest.

And the enemy cleverly created an entrance on the swamp side. As a result, the soldiers had no choice but to go through the swamp with their equipment.

Marching would become three times harder, but the first army showed its might. They marched steadily and quickly as if the terrain didnʼt matter.

They were the most elite and the most experienced units.

However, the demons had the advantage in this area.

The first army shouted as if making its presence known. They were the bait, so it was their duty to be gathering these demons.

Without missing a beat, the demons began to scream and move toward the first army. They let other demons know and attacked together.

Abelʼs expression turned grim as he heard the report.

”Sir, we have spotted a large number of demons on the right.

”Some demons are looping around us and plan to attack our rear.”

”We have spotted a large number of demons on our left.”

”We are surrounded!”

Abel had expected this. He immediately shouted, ”Send a signal to the third division. Watch out back. We will march forward in this situation.”

Once the airships noticed the signal, they started taking their position, ready to bombard the demons that tried to attack the first division from the back.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

With most demons on the rear dead, the first division took the first wave. As one would expect from the most elite army, the moment the demons pounced on them, not a single shield bearer fell down.

They managed to hold their weight and not let the demons enter their ranks. Then, they killed one demon after another while marching.

Their coordination and discipline were basically a cut above the rest.

At the front, Abel rampaged, opening a path for the group. The officers remained on the side, watching out for any high-level demons that required their strength to defeat.

With them holding back their opponents, other armies could advance as well.

”Ooohhh!” A series of battle cries echoed from the left.

This cry didnʼt come from demons. It was from humans.

”!!!” Abel glanced to the left side and saw a huge army coming. They hit the demons from behind, killing them so easily.

Their efficiency might not be inferior to that of the Ardagan familyʼs army.

The Ardagan family could have a hundred thousand troops.

However, the total amount they brought here was only thirty thousand. The main army had fifteen thousand, Anna would get ten thousand, and Incetta got five thousand.

On the other hand, the royal army that Conrad brought to the north numbered one hundred thousand. However, it had been split in two.

The first half had to remain in the north to guard the kingdom. In other words, Conrad only brought fifty thousand to this battle.

Still, the one coming to reinforce the main army was a small detachment numbering ten thousand. The remaining forty thousand continued onward.

They, in the end, had to act like a wall. So, this was the limit they could send to the main army.

Even with that, the royal army was overwhelming the demons.

”Sir. The demons…”

”...” Abel didnʼt expect that the royal army was that strong. Although he had heard the rumor, the royal army rarely fought. So, no one knew the extent of their strength.

Still, he only had 5,000 soldiers, while the royal army reinforced them with 10,000 soldiers. It doubled their size, so it made their power look weak.

Fortunately, the airships provided enough firepower to make it look like they were the main show.

Nevertheless, now that the royal army had crushed the demons on the left side, the main army could pick up its pace again, focusing solely on the front and the right side.

They had to wait until the reinforcement from the right side came, either from Anna or Incetta.

Still, they were bait, so Abel didnʼt expect much.

The attacker this time was the 5,000 soldiers led by Lucas. Even though it was a narrow path, he advanced comfortably.

”Sir. We have found the entrance. It might really be the enemyʼs base.”

Lucas nodded and waved his hand. ”Send a signal for our lord. All troops, we will be increasing our pace.”

On the back of the hill, Noel and Rui looked up.

”Your job is to enter the hill if thereʼs any. It might be a trap, so it will be extremely dangerous. But if itʼs not a trap, halt their position. If necessary, I will split this mountain in two.

”Also, thereʼs one message.” Noel raised one finger. ”Donʼt forget that your headband is a divine item. You might think its only purpose is to speed up your training, but that is an item that allows your ancestor to be the spear of the Great General Alexander Ardagan.”

Rui nodded with a serious expression. ”I will not betray that trust.”

”Look, the signal is up!”

”Iʼll be off, Master.”
