Global Lords: Me and My Calabash Kiddos

Chapter 81: Chapter 73: Dragon Sparrow Guard and Yu

The second B-level Human Race, Yi Tian only spent 700,000 Celestial Dao Coins.

Name: Wangbei.

Strength: 685.

Constitution: 690.

Agility: 660.

Wangbei was much easier to handle—let alone Elemental Warriors, even Feng Dingjie at Yi Tian’s side was enough to make Wangbei have no choice but to sign the contract.

The third B-level Human, Yi Tian spent 800,000 Celestial Dao Coins.

Name: Si Hu.

Strength: 695.

Constitution: 698.

Agility: 691.

All three stats were very balanced, very powerful. He had shown up aggressive and imposing, but upon seeing his surroundings, he instantly wilted, clenching his teeth to sign the Lord Contract.

If they could be captured alive, it meant they didn’t want to die.

The fourth B-level Human, Yi Tian spent 900,000 Celestial Dao Coins.

Name: Rugao.

Strength: 705.

Constitution: 695.

Agility: 680.

This is the power of someone with one foot in the mid-stage Gold, and the price rose by a full 100,000 Celestial Dao Coins.

The fifth B-level Human, Yi Tian spent 1.5 million Celestial Dao Coins.

Name: Zhan Wuyue.

Strength: 759.

Constitution: 755.

Agility: 730.

Skill: Long Spear Mastery LV.4. When using a spear, Attack Power increases by 40%.

With that skill, after activating it, he could even fight A-levels. Worth every bit of that extra 500,000.

Zhan Wuyue stood 1.95 meters tall, with thick eyebrows and big eyes.

However, at this moment, he looked utterly disheveled, bound by special iron chains as thick as arms. Clearly, he’d already been unruly under his previous Lord.

For some reason, the last Lord hadn’t used the Lord Contract to subdue Zhan Wuyue.

I thought taking down Zhan Wuyue would be a hassle, but now it’s easy. Yi Tian took out the Lord Contract, grabbed Zhan Wuyue’s hand, and forced him to recognize a new master.

”At this moment, our fates are linked. Don’t resent me, I’m a victim too. Weakness is the original sin, we’re manipulated like puppets.”

”We’re higher than the earth, but lower than the blue sky. Walking this path is the path of no return. Not only me, but you too. No one walks away unscathed, even if you don’t join my territory. Either you reach the pinnacle or you die on the way.”

”We have no other choice!”

”I don’t know how many Indigenous People of the Celestial Dao World have died, but just among us Lords from the Cosmic Star System, at least twenty percent died within the first month. We know nothing except how insignificant our lives are, as weak as ants. That’s how cruel it is. On this road, only the victors smile—failure’s tears have no place.”

”Every place you can’t exert your power, that’s your fate! But we will not admit defeat. We are weak, but we dare to raise our fists to the heavens. I don’t know if we can survive. Even conquering yourself counts as a victory.”

”From today, the Dragon Sparrow Guard is established. The Dragon Sparrow is the fiercest Divine Beast on our planet—when it takes flight, it blocks out the sun, moon, and stars. You will be the first generation of its guards. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t surrendered yet, I’ll give you time.”

”Here, I will give you relatively equal treatment, give you ideals and a goal. There are no slaves here, only territory members looking towards the future.”

Yi Tian talked and talked, but except for those five B-level warriors, the rest of the territory members did not submit.

Indigenous People and outsiders, even of the same race, would still have barriers—life or death struggles.

Clearly, they didn’t believe Yi Tian’s words. But they didn’t dare to resist either.

Yi Tian said nothing more. Time would prove everything. He wasn’t short-sighted, willing to exploit his people for petty gains.

As Gu Qianqiu once said, the future may be an age of alliance and intrigue. You need a group of utterly loyal subordinates.

Not slaves who, when it matters most, shout: ”Are Princes and Generals born to their stations?”

”Zhan Wuyue, select 199 people and form the first Dragon Sparrow Guard squad.”

”Feng Dingjie, you select 199 people for the second Dragon Sparrow Guard squad. Oh, and all the women will be under your management.”

”Rugao, you select 199 people for the third Dragon Sparrow Guard squad.”

”Si Hu, you pick 199 for the fourth Dragon Sparrow Guard squad.”

”Wangbei, you’re in charge of selecting 199 for the fifth Dragon Sparrow Guard squad.”

Yi Tian began forming the Dragon Sparrow Guard. At the same time, he appointed Gu Qianqiu as Dragon Sparrow Commander.

From the original members, he picked the 20 most talented to strengthen the Dragon Sparrow Guard and serve as squad leaders, etc.

To prevent escape attempts, Yi Tian assigned 10 Elemental Warriors to each Dragon Sparrow squad for the captains to command.

Once the Dragon Sparrow Guard fully submitted, the Elemental Warriors would return to the Warrior Pavilion.

For the housing of these thousand-plus members, Yi Tian had to make arrangements as well.

Unlike villas, floor apartment blueprints can be bought at the Auction House.

Now that the price of metal had soared, building a residential block would cost millions; more advanced ones would top ten million Celestial Dao Coins.

If Lords had that much money, they’d buy several big villas. As for where the slaves lived, cramming ten into a stone hut was already considered decent.

Who would be so wealthy as to spend tens of millions to build high-rises for slaves?

Of course: the Wealthiest in the World!

If someone asked Yi Tian to build rows of wood and stone cabins on the estate, he couldn’t do it.

Yi Tian spent a total of 2.4 million Celestial Dao Coins, buying three five-unit, ten-story building blueprints at 800,000 each.

Adding the one he already had, he planned to build four buildings in one go.

This time, the apartments weren’t three-bedroom one-living-room, but four-bedroom two-living-room units.

Of these, two buildings were placed at the northeast corner, connecting with the original four-unit, five-story blocks; two more stood at the southeast corner.

This would make the territory look crowded, but there was no choice—you couldn’t build these outside the city.

To construct these four, he’d need to purchase materials and spend lots of time, plus outfit the interiors—it would take at least two days to finish everything.

That night, Yi Tian first built the two buildings in the northeast sector.

”Mid-grade Stone *2 million, Iron *500,000, Copper *300,000, Wood *1 million, Glass *50,000, F-level Beast Core *100, Silver *50,000, Gold *10,000, Celestial Dao Coin 200,000.”

One advanced apartment block cost a full 10.5 million Celestial Dao Coins.

Territory Points increased by 10,000.

On the morning of Summer Day 8, Yi Tian built the other two buildings to the southeast.

But finishing the interiors was extremely time-consuming, even with Yi Tian leading dozens of people.

Not until the night of Summer Day 9 was everything finally done.

Decorating cost a total of 20 million. That’s the price of buying hearts!

From buying Human Race natives to finishing interiors, all totaled, Yi Tian had spent 156.1 million Celestial Dao Coins.

Remaining Celestial Dao Coins: 1.65 million.

In these two days, the Dragon Sparrow Guard watched the Horn Alliance captives endure the life of that ”8127”—one meal a day, baking under the blazing sun, utterly miserable.

But the Lord was building them high-end buildings, with new batches moving in every day—one per room, more comfortable than they could’ve dreamed.

In such hot weather, at night there was still ice, and even chilled fruit on demand.

Compared to what they’d known before, it was like heaven and earth.

What’s more, the Lord was powerful, with a pack of Gold Level beasts and even wielded powerful Cloud Formation and Rainfall techniques.

Even the tribe’s High Priest couldn’t do something like that.

And the new Dragon Sparrow Commander, Gu Qianqiu, spoke so persuasively it seemed this territory might one day swallow the Four Seas, commanding the whole cosmos.

The wise submit when the time is right!

One after another, the Dragon Sparrow Guard pledged allegiance, though most had just barely enough Loyalty to pass.

But as long as there’s initial submission and they can’t leave, Yi Tian was confident he could win them over completely.

The Elemental Warriors’ mission was done, so they returned to the Warrior Pavilion.

This round of recruitment and members joining increased Territory Points by 100,500.

The four apartment blocks increased the total by 40,000.

Current Territory Points: 421,450/1,000,000.

Of the four new buildings, three were for men—1,200 rooms, only over 800 occupied. New arrivals could move in instantly.

The female building housed only 120, with plenty of empty rooms.

Thanks to Gu Qianqiu’s efforts and the arrival of this new force, all seeds had been planted—now all that was needed was a Spirit Rain.

The weather grew ever hotter. On day nine, the temperature hit 55°C. Some Lords, unable to handle it, started hallucinating and went mad.

Even Yi Tian’s chickens died from the heat—this despite him throwing in ice now and then.

At the Auction House, a single block of ice sold for an exorbitant sum.

Countless Lords were willing to pay a fortune just for a moment’s relief.

Those with Ice Storage made a killing, and those skilled in Ice Elemental Magic also made a bundle.

Yi Tian didn’t sell his ice—he needed it himself.

But starting tomorrow, he’d hoard iced watermelon and get more ruthless about turning a profit.

Even grimmer, a food crisis was quietly spreading.

Many Lords were going hungry. Not just themselves—their slaves had nothing to eat either.

The contract-bound natives didn’t dare complain, but many temporarily subdued slaves saw their Loyalty plummet, already plotting rebellion.

Even if they weren’t their Lord’s match, they could still make things infinitely worse for them.

Some careless Lords were even tripped up by their own men.

The Auction House had not a single grain or vegetable leaf for sale anywhere.

The profiteers were holding back, waiting for Lords to reach their limits and then raise their knives and forks to the feast.

Some Lords, desperate, ate the seeds they’d gotten from Treasure Chests days before.

Grassroots, bark, insects—if it was edible, it was eaten.

There were even incidents of slaves being eaten, that kind of cruelty taking place.

Even a rabbit will fight back when pushed, let alone top-level intelligent life forced to the edge—there’s nothing they won’t do.

Members of different races even devoured each other—without feeling the slightest guilt.

In reality, it wasn’t quite doomsday yet, as many Lords still gripped Mist Scrolls, their eyes shining with a strange light!

Some of those lights were gentle, some bloodthirsty.

”[Elemental Warrior Design Map *470] Trading [None].”

Yi Tian lay on the floor of his bedroom, accepting a trade sent by Purple Phoenix Moon Dance.

At the moment, two Little Kiddos were sleeping soundly on the bed, and the other three sprawled around a big block of ice.

Yi Tian wasn’t afraid of heat, but he didn’t crowd around with them—he lay on the other side of the bed, alone.

The floor was a bit hard, but cool and comfortable.

In two days, Purple Phoenix Moon Dance had collected all the Elemental Warrior Design Maps.

Now she only owed Yi Tian 38 million Celestial Dao Coins.

”Wealthiest in the World, send me some water so I can take a bath! It’s unbearable!”

Yi Tian didn’t understand what Purple Phoenix Moon Dance meant by this message.

Was she hinting at something?

”Even without a water supply system, can’t you just jump in the lake?”

Yi Tian replied.

”There’s a vicious beast called Yu in the lake—it got in somehow and destroyed all the pipes. It hides in the water and if its head pops up even for a split second, it can shoot out energy beams at living creatures’ shadows. If your shadow is hit, it feels like your head splits open with pain and you’re out of action for a long time. A few of my men are still lying in bed—it’ll take at least two days to recover.” Purple Phoenix Moon Dance explained, wanting water from Yi Tian. She was actually quite pleased—since Yi Tian didn’t know about the Yu, it meant he could still fetch water.
