Global Lords: Me and My Calabash Kiddos

Chapter 60: Chapter 53: Thunder Crocodile, Leopard Head, Female Mercenary

As for the people in the division, at most, remind them. He can’t help, nor can he manage to help.

Of course, if fellow villager Qin Fanshuang lacks food, Yi Tian will still provide some support.

Yi Tian’s ice storage holds over 300,000 Kg of meat, enough for his people to eat for several months.

”If one’s physique exceeds 100, what matter if it’s hot or cold?”

Yi Tian doesn’t feel the temperature increase at all. If not for dignity, he could be bare-skinned all year round.

However, Yi Tian subconsciously believes that things will not be so simple.

Theoretically, physiques over 100 are not afraid of ordinary temperatures, but theoretically, locusts are not as big as fists.

Nothing has happened this month like ferocious beast invasions or indigenous invasions, but it has already left the Celestial Dao World’s natives in turmoil.

No matter how strong a Lord is, they will still be dragged down by these trivial matters.

”Mercenary System alert, an employer has sent you a task request. Task requirements: eliminate the Thunder Crocodile, strength 400, agility 350, physique 400, spiritual power 300. Accept the task?”

Still watching the chat within the division, a reminder echoed in his mind.

Yi Tian took a careful look, noting that the task is highly challenging.

Moreover, Yi Tian noticed a point, the Thunder Crocodile’s spiritual power was as high as 300.

This means, most likely, the Thunder Crocodile can release elements.

It might even possess talent!

Thunder Element?

It didn’t take long for Yi Tian to accept the task for the 171st time.

Without mentioning his ultimate move, Yi Tian could easily kill the Thunder Crocodile with just Mountain Lifting and Cauldron Carrying.

Besides, Yi Tian is slightly faster than the Thunder Crocodile.

”Accept!”

In a flash of light, a few breaths later, Yi Tian was transported into a mountain range.

The myriad valleys and sharp peaks loomed.

Looking out, it was all rock without a single tree or even a blade of grass.

Yi Tian’s heart jumped, and he immediately became vigilant of the surroundings.

He realized for the first time that this was not within the Lord’s domain. For a moment, he thought his identity had been exposed, and someone was going to ambush him.

Fortunately, Yi Tian was calm enough to dismiss such thoughts immediately.

If it were an ambush, it would be within the domain, not here. It must have been the Lord using a Mist Scroll.

Before him stood a man with a leopard head.

About two meters tall, in tattered clothes, the exposed physique looked streamlined.

”Mercenary, the Thunder Crocodile is in the valley.”

The Leopard Head pointed to the entrance of a valley and said to Yi Tian.

The valley entrance was large, but one could tell it twisted and turned inside.

On both sides of the valley entrance, the cliffs were steep and towering, leading to layer upon layer of high mountains beyond.

”Are you sure there’s only one Thunder Crocodile inside?” Yi Tian frowned and questioned the Leopard Head.

Lords cannot check three-dimensional aspects, but they can estimate a foe’s approximate strength with their eyesight.

Yi Tian, with powerful spiritual power, sensed that the Leopard Head was strong, slightly weaker than Gu Qianqiu but not by much.

Why hire C-level mercenaries with such power?

Is this guy a competitor, envious of my impressive record and trying to sabotage me?

The saying goes, one must not have the intent to harm others, but must guard against those who do.

Many thoughts crossed Yi Tian’s mind, but he kept a neutral expression.

He hadn’t seen the Thunder Crocodile’s true form yet and couldn’t leave now.

He couldn’t unjustifiably use a big move to take down the Leopard Head.

”Yes! I swear, there’s only one Thunder Crocodile!” Leopard Head declared firmly.

”You’re sure the Thunder Crocodile’s not B-level strength?” Yi Tian sneered.

”Mercenary! Don’t you know the rules? It’s just a task; you’re dawdling. How did you complete 170 tasks?” Leopard Head’s face turned displeased.

”Indeed, I am quite ignorant! I can’t fathom a B-level warrior failing against a C-level beast; how pathetic is that?” Yi Tian retorted.

Yi Tian might have gotten his impressive record through opportunism, but Leopard Head’s indignation made Yi Tian even more cautious; this Leopard Head surely had something to hide.

Yi Tian couldn’t strike first against Leopard Head. If Leopard Head attacked first, Yi Tian could counterattack righteously.

The Mercenary System has a rule: irrespective of whether it’s the employer or the mercenary, whoever strikes first, the counterattacker bears no fault. The one who strikes first bears all responsibility, regardless of outcome.

Before that, there’s a precondition: if the employer deceives the mercenary, and the mercenary kills the employer, the mercenary bears no fault.

Yi Tian couldn’t yet ascertain if the Leopard Head was deceiving him.

”Mercenary, do you wish not to leave alive?” Leopard Head flared up in rage. However, he was rational enough to know he couldn’t make a move, or Yi Tian could teleport away.

He still needed the Mercenary System, so he couldn’t strike!

Yi Tian stood his ground calmly.

After all, mercenaries have eight hours per task.

Yi Tian wasn’t sure of the Thunder Crocodile’s strength in the valley, so he wouldn’t enter.

Some risks are worth taking; some are not.

”Number two under heaven, eh? Now your win rate is 100%; aren’t you afraid it’ll drop once you leave?”

Leopard Head saw Yi Tian maintain a distance, standing nonchalantly and was furious, using it to threaten Yi Tian.

”Not afraid! Because you falsely reported the Thunder Crocodile’s strength. Even if I leave, the Mercenary System won’t count it as a loss.” Yi Tian stated firmly.

At worst, just wait it out. Even if Leopard Head used a Mid-Level Fog Scroll, it’s only eight hours.

Leopard Head can’t afford the wait!

Yi Tian guessed there was treasure in the valley, guarded by the Thunder Crocodile.

The Thunder Crocodile was formidable, and the Leopard Head couldn’t contend.

Fearing a B-level mercenary would be too strong, killing the Thunder Crocodile and then seizing the treasure, Leopard Head hesitated to hire them.

Because this wasn’t in a domain, it’s no man’s land. Whoever got the treasure owns it.

There’s a vast difference between early-stage B-level and late-stage B-level.

If within a domain, a Lord could gift the treasure to a mercenary, otherwise, the Lord couldn’t take it.

As for why he invited himself, Yi Tian speculated it was Leopard Head wanting him to attract the Thunder Crocodile’s attention, and then seize the treasure while they had the chance.

Leopard Head must be cultivating a Body Refining technique focused on speed. His clothes were tattered, looking rather wretched. Evidently, he had already faced the Thunder Crocodile, unable to contend with it, relying only on speed to escape.

Therefore, as long as someone could draw the Thunder Crocodile’s attention, even for a few seconds.

Leopard Head could use his speed to snatch the treasure.

After obtaining the treasure, he could immediately use the Mist Scroll to teleport back to the territory.

No regard for Yi Tian’s life or death!

The treasure could make Leopard Head abandon the Mercenary System, showing it is a rare treasure.

If Leopard Head knew Yi Tian’s thoughts at this moment, he would certainly be shocked. Because Yi Tian’s guess was pretty accurate.

However, at this moment, Leopard Head didn’t know Yi Tian’s thoughts and secretly resented him: ”Mercenary, since you don’t want to help, leave quickly.”

Driving Yi Tian away, he could hire the next unfortunate one. It’s a Mid-Level Fog Scroll, and it’s been six hours since leaving the territory, time is running out.

”No hurry! It’s hard to come out once. Look at the beauty of the Celestial Dao World’s great rivers and mountains.” Yi Tian waved his hand, looking not in a hurry at all.

”Damn you!” Leopard Head gnashed his teeth, wishing he could swallow Yi Tian.

”Kid, dare to speak again later, and I won’t rest until you’re dead.” Leopard Head was very angry, even letting out such foolish words.

Seeing the time of the Mid-Level Fog Scroll growing less, Leopard Head opened the Celestial Dao Stone and hired another C-level mercenary.

Moments later, a mercenary was transported by white light.

The face of an angel, the body of a devil, gorgeous clothes, holding a silver bow.

Silver long hair, blue eyes, pointed ears.

Elf!

Yi Tian guessed the identity of the female mercenary the first moment.

Yi Tian felt that this female elf’s three-dimensional attributes should be at least above 400. She had similar Spiritual Power fluctuations, not far from B-level.

This was a mature elf, the little elves in Yi Tian’s division couldn’t compare at all.

After the female elf landed, seeing the surrounding environment, and then Yi Tian and Leopard Head east and west, forming a surrounding posture, she immediately drew her bow and arrow, her jade face alert.

Yi Tian turned around, seeming as if he was just passing by, unrelated to the matter.

”Mercenary, the Thunder Crocodile is inside the valley, please help me kill it.” Leopard Head wore a bitter face, but switched to a ”smile” instantly upon seeing the female elf.

”Okay!” The female elf didn’t want much bother, perhaps confident in her strength, or thinking the employer wouldn’t dare deceive, she held her bow and arrow and walked towards the valley.

Leopard Head pretended to be watching and followed behind the female elf.

Yi Tian followed too, while taking the Dragon Bow off his shoulder.

If this Thunder Crocodile isn’t C-level, Yi Tian would immediately take out Leopard Head.

Incidentally, he could seize a Celestial Dao Stone!

Of course, the most crucial thing is the treasure inside the valley. Let the female elf lead the way, testing the Thunder Crocodile’s strength.

The female elf hadn’t entered the valley yet, but found her employer and a Dao Body trailing her, so she stopped immediately.

Yi Tian and Leopard Head also stopped at the same time.

One looked sinister, the other extremely deep. The female elf felt something was very wrong!

The female elf glanced at Yi Tian suspiciously.

Yi Tian looked up at the sky...

The female elf glanced at Leopard Head again, and Leopard Head looked down at the earth beneath his feet.

The self-confident female elf became quite uneasy. It was her first time as a mercenary, thinking it would be simple.

Take the money to do the job.

Finish and leave.

Now, why doesn’t it match what was said in the district?

She tensed her Spiritual Power and wondered whether to retreat?

However, she was the dignified Elf Empress, how could she retreat just because of a small setback?

”Why are you following me? Give me a reasonable explanation, or I won’t be polite!” The female elf took a deep breath, gripping her silver bow, coldly speaking.

”On our planet, there are legends of elves, smart and beautiful, kind-hearted. I’ve always yearned to see them, but haven’t had the chance. So I want to admire your elegance. My reason is quite reasonable, right?” Yi Tian’s deep expression suddenly had a slight smile, seeming not malicious.

”I’m the employer, watching you kill the target is very reasonable too, right?” Leopard Head wished he could tear Yi Tian to pieces.

The female elf’s delicate brows furrowed, her jade hands tightly gripping the silver bow, the other hand clutching an arrow, ready to draw the bow at any time.

She continued forward, but at a much slower pace.

This valley is winding and twisting, from an aerial view, it seemed like a snake crawling.

”Crocodiles dwell by the water. This Thunder Crocodile ran into the valley, reducing combat power by at least three points.”

”The Thunder Crocodile didn’t take the treasure back to its lair, indicating the treasure can’t be carried away. Evidently, it’s a Spirit Fruit Tree, or Spirit Flowers and Herbs, and hasn’t matured. The Thunder Crocodile is guarding it until maturity, only then will it leave.”

Yi Tian walked as he pondered.

Pondering how strong this Thunder Crocodile really was?

Having a clue, Yi Tian already decided to take down Leopard Head.

His gaze locked onto Leopard Head, ready to shoot him a fatal arrow any moment.

”Gulu...”

A sound came from the canyon.

A very strange call, like muffled thunder.

It was eerie, making one get goosebumps.

The female elf pulled the silver bow fully, aiming at the bend in the valley.

Leopard Head placed one hand against the canyon’s rock, one foot on a small rock, seeming ready to perform some high-difficulty move.

A purple head poked out from the corner, Yi Tian used the Celestial Dao Stone the first moment to get the Thunder Crocodile’s exact data.

Thunder Crocodile: Strength 705, Constitution 750, Agility 680, Spiritual Power 410.

”Mercenary System prompts that the content traded between the employer and mercenary is severely inaccurate, task level upgraded to B-level. Due to the employer’s bad credit, removed from the Mercenary System! If the mercenary chooses to fight against the employer, no punishment will be given.”

As the Thunder Crocodile appeared, the female elf already shot her arrow.

With 750 super-high defense, even with Archery Mastery, the female elf found it difficult to pierce its thick crocodile skin.

This arrow completely angered the Thunder Crocodile, and it scrambled on all fours, quickly charging at the female elf.

The female elf finally realized she’d been set up, prepared to take out the Celestial Dao Stone for teleportation, but it was too late...
