Global Lords: Me and My Calabash Kiddos

Chapter 65: Chapter 57: Exterminating the Locusts, Panic Among the People

”Daddy, they’re here.”

”East, south, west, north, it’s all bugs, uncountable numbers...”

After Second Child activated Thousand-Mile Eye, he reported the situation to Yi Tian.

”Tiger One!”

Yi Tian called out to Tiger One in front of the villa.

”Roar...”

Tiger One let out a roar that echoed throughout the entire territory.

Qixin and Liyue knew this was the lord’s command; they opened the porcelain bottles containing Spirit Honey.

They let the thick liquid drip, one drop at a time, onto the several hundred square meter open ground.

This Hundred Flowers Spirit Honey had a light fragrance that intoxicated anyone who smelled it.

Many insects on the grassland quickly swarmed toward where the Hundred Flowers Spirit Honey was.

”Buzz buzz...”

The sound of beating wings mingled together, and unpleasant noise erupted throughout the territory.

This sound made people’s spines itch.

It was as if something in the scent was luring them—insects entered the territory and all flew northward over the grasslands together.

The first to arrive were the locust swarms from the north, who got to enjoy the spirit honey first.

One cluster after another—Yi Tian could see every locust was as big as a fist; never mind crops and vegetables, their sharp mouths could even bite through small trees.

”Locust: Agility 10, Constitution 2, Strength 4.”

The attributes were ordinary, but locusts were terrifying not as individuals, but in swarms—their passage left not a blade of grass alive.

If someone rushed in to kill, the locusts wouldn’t resist. But the area was too vast—it would exhaust you to death.

On Earth, the major locust plagues covered over a hundred li in length and dozens of li in width, a sight that inspired dread.

If you could make the locusts land and cluster together, they’d be much easier to deal with.

”Tiger One, go to the grasslands.”

Yi Tian held Second Child and leaped onto Tiger One’s back, heading toward the grassland.

On the grassland, the locusts landed frantically, layer after layer.

Soon, the several hundred square meter area was covered by a thick carpet of locusts.

These were all locusts from the north—the first to land.

When Yi Tian arrived on the grassland, the western locusts were also starting to land. After touching down, they crazily squeezed into the ground, even fighting and killing their own kind.

The other insects had long been bitten to death by the locusts from the north.

You could see how madly desperate they were for just a taste of spirit honey.

Everything in nature restrains or is restrained by something else.

Almost all the locusts had landed; they piled into a small mountain, and the infighting became increasingly brutal.

But since the honey scent didn’t disappear, they didn’t leave.

Seeing only a few locusts left in the sky, Yi Tian immediately issued an order: ”Fire attack!”

Gu Qianqiu and other subordinates ignited bundles of flammable wood, then threw them at the locusts.

Over a hundred blazing fireballs landed in the locust mountain, instantly sending a huge cloud of locusts flying into the air.

”Attack!”

The fireballs were just an appetizer; now came the main course.

At Yi Tian’s command, the Elemental Warriors surrounded the locust mountain.

Once the order was given, Fourth Child—who couldn’t hold back any longer—unleashed a stream of seven-colored flames from her mouth.

Fourth Child’s fierceness was no less than Third Child’s.

Yi Tian noticed Big Child seldom used innate divine techniques during battle.

But Fourth Child started every fight with Origin Seven-Color True Flame, then Divine Thunder, and finally spiritual power-condensed fire.

As soon as Fourth Child unleashed the Seven-Colored True Flame, it thickened to the width of a bucket, shooting straight through the locust mountain.

Locusts with only 2 Constitution points instantly vaporized when touched by the seven-colored fire pillar, leaving not even ashes behind.

Anything within a meter of the flame was reduced to ashes; anything within ten meters was scorched by the heat and died.

Fourth Child’s seven-colored fire sprayed for a full ten seconds, specifically targeting the uppermost layer, so the lower locusts couldn’t fly away.

While Fourth Child was spraying flames, the Elemental Warriors all attacked together.

Suddenly, nine types of elemental attacks filled the air—especially several area-damage skills, easily killing tens of thousands of locusts.

This time, three million locusts invaded the territory.

Not as catastrophic as the tens of billions seen in major swarms.

But Yi Tian’s territory was too small. And these were all monstrous locusts; on Earth, ten of these could bite a person to death.

The locusts’ strength was 5; an adult human on Earth had a strength of 10.

If it was just destruction, these locusts could keep Yi Tian too busy to defend everywhere, easily ruining the territory’s greenery.

When Fire-breathing Sister sprayed ordinary flames for a second round, Liyue unleashed her ultimate move.

Bursting Petals.

Thousands of flower petals shot toward the locusts in the sky, and each petal could take several locusts’ lives.

The locusts in the sky were almost completely wiped out.

”Roar...”

The Five Tiger Generals also unleashed their ultimates.

Among them, Tiger One’s Golden Tiger Roar was the fiercest.

With a single roar, spiritual power formed hundreds of blades, tearing into the locust mountain inch by inch.

Some locusts died thoroughly, then were still shredded by the blades.

The Eastsea Falcons in the sky were also tirelessly hunting for escaping locusts.

Their speed was phenomenal—they could catch hundreds of locusts in an instant.

They were picky eaters and didn’t even deign to eat the high-protein locusts—just smacked them dead with a flap of their wings.

After one round of attacks, everyone stopped.

With normal attacks, they struck down the occasional locusts escaping from the locust mountain.

For a full hour, no more locusts came out.

Yi Tian believed plenty of locusts were still alive at the bottom.

Yi Tian bought a large amount of firewood from the auction house. It was the leftover branches from territories chopping down trees—very cheap.

The locust corpses were hard to handle, so they had to be burned to ashes. The plant ash could then be used to fertilize the new fields.

Gu Qianqiu led people to throw firewood onto the devastated locust mountain...

From here on, Yi Tian didn’t need to oversee things.

”Detected territory has increased by 70 C-level powerhouses, territory points +7000. Current territory points: 258,950.”

Through exterminating the locusts, newcomers realized the true strength of Yi Tian’s territory, and dared not entertain any traitorous ideas.

This time handling the locusts was even easier than expected. When Yi Tian, Liyue, Qixin, and the kids returned to the villa, he praised the two women: ”Eliminating the locusts—credit goes to the two of you.”

”All thanks to the Lord’s wise leadership,” Liyue replied.

”Mm, you two don’t practice Body Refining, so you don’t need those body refining spirit fruits. I have a batch of spirit fruits—together, they’ll increase spiritual power by 140 points. I’ll reward you both when we get back.” Yi Tian took the opportunity to give Liyue and Qixin the Spirit Fruit rewards.

Glazed Holy Fruit, Vermilion Fruit, plus several A-level Spirit Fruits—the total spiritual power increase was 140 points.

They were pure Spirit Cultivators; spiritual power was their attack, speed, and defense.

”That’s too precious. The Lord said we share weal and woe—whatever we sisters do, it’s as it should be.” Liyue and Qixin had never eaten Spirit Fruits. When they found out how much power the fruits added, they didn’t dare accept them.

”No need to decline. Only when you both reach B-level strength can you help me better. Otherwise, in battles to come, you won’t be able to support me.” Yi Tian’s tone was commanding, not allowing refusal.

The two women had SS-level potential—a boost was inevitable.

Otherwise, they’d be like Little White, just a tagalong in every battle.

In a big fight, no presence at all!

”Thank you, Lord! We sisters will definitely help the Lord defeat any invaders.” Liyue and Qixin were overwhelmingly grateful toward Yi Tian.

They felt the lord treated them too well—something they’d never felt before. From now on, they’d do everything to repay him.

After eating the spirit fruits, Liyue’s spiritual power reached 560, Qixin’s reached 556.

Judging by the two women’s affinity with spiritual power, each of them at least matched seven or eight Elemental Warriors. And that’s without using their ultimates.

”Use Level 2 Celestial Dao Stone, choose ten square kilometers of prime plains.” Yi Tian arrived at the border with the original farmland.

He was preparing to connect these 15,000 mu of new farmland with the original 3,000 mu.

With seeds incubated in the seed incubation room, each mu could yield over 2000kg of grain.

Yi Tian was very satisfied; back in his previous life, a mu of land yielded 500kg at best. Even super hybrid rice only produced 900kg per mu.

Expansion!

A vast plain appeared west of the lake, east of the mountains.

The giant plain brought changes to the territory.

The 13 small hills in the southwest were now divided into two parts, with a huge gap in the middle—at least ten more hills were needed to fill it in.

The War Manor was pushed even farther southeast, further from Lake One.

Though you could reach the fields straight out the west gate, the farmland was now so huge it stretched as far as the eye could see.

Yi Tian decided to assign tasks to his people more carefully, otherwise this massive project would overwhelm them.

people, 150 mu each—not so scary that way.

On Earth, only agri-mechanization made farming this scale possible.

But in Celestial Dao World, as long as you had intact Special Plows and Seeders, one person with 300 physique, 300 strength, and 300 agility could outwork eight machines.

When the grain ripened, even though there was only one super harvester, running it twenty-four hours for three or four days could reap all 18,000 mu.

Yi Tian simply bought the plows at the auction house—they were Technology Crystal-crafted Special Plows, each with ten plowshares; a C-level Warrior could plow one mu in three minutes.

The seeder could sow an 8-meter width in one go; as long as the soil was loose and seeds ready, it was even faster than plowing.

There were already 20 plows and seeders, and Yi Tian bought another 100 of each—costing a total of 50,000 Celestial Dao Coins.

Celestial Dao Coin balance: 5,295,000.

Regional Channel.

Even with psychological preparation, after the locust plague, everyone was wailing everywhere.

”Damned locusts only left my territory after eating every scrap of green.”

”Same here—there’s not a patch of green left. Even after killing several hundred locusts, I still can’t vent my anger.”

”Last time, some of the lords took down the Fish-eating Stork. Did anyone powerful get rid of the locusts this time?” — Celestial Horse Star Race, Ma Rulong.

”Impossible! With Fish-eating Storks, if you’re strong enough you can kill one. But locusts aren’t just about strength. My vegetable patch—gone in less than thirty seconds. The trees in the woods—they were stripped clean as the swarm passed through. There’s not a single blade of grass left on the grassland. Now my sheep don’t even have any hay to eat.” — Turtle Race’s Gui Jie.

”Boo hoo... I’m the unluckiest—I spent all my effort planting fifty thousand trees. Now all the leaves are eaten, and more than half my saplings and small trees destroyed. This is the first time I’ve felt despair.” — Forest Elf, Mumu Qingqing.

”Don’t worry, Elf Sister. Yi Tian said it—half a month, and it’ll be spring again. Plus, timber prices are rising. You still have twenty or thirty thousand trees—plenty of assets.” — Black Stone Star Human Race, Shan Dashan.

”You think next time it’ll be our animals they target? I hope not!” — Celestial Gift Race, Skage.

”Please, no! The temperature has shot up and meat products spoil in two days. The fierce beast meat from the last end-of-month assessment was all forcibly delisted. The only thing we can rely on now is a handful of poultry and livestock.” — Wind Race Chief Feng.

”Good thing Yi Tian warned us early, I stashed a batch of half-mature vegetables. Even if something happens, I can last a while.” — Sheepman Race, Yang Yangyang.

Yi Tian watched the lords’ chatter in the region, thoughtful.

Livestock!

Yi Tian had more livestock than anyone in the region. But he’d always let them range free, pretty much ignoring them.

Yi Tian didn’t depend on his livestock and poultry—he already had more meat than he could eat.
