Global Lords: Me and My Calabash Kiddos

Chapter 59: Chapter 52: Hundred Flowers Spirit Honey, Hundred Flowers Spirit Wine

”Each of you pick a room, I’ll set it up for you.”

After returning to the villa, Yi Tian said this to the two girls.

Liyue and Qixin have a lot of potential. They said their spiritual power was only 100 when they were born, and after thirteen years—without taking any spirit medicine—they were already over four hundred.

As long as they take the spirit fruit Yi Tian has that increases spiritual power, their spiritual power can break through five hundred.

For Flower Spirits, things like physique, agility, and strength are useless. It’s very hard for them to do body refining; spiritual power is the real deal.

The greater the spiritual power, the longer the lifespan.

Whether human or Spirit Race, strength and lifespan are closely related. The Spirit Race, in general, lives more than ten times longer than the Human Race.

”Sister, this house is so pretty!” Qixin whispered to Liyue.

”Yeah! The Lord really is extraordinary; we must repay the Lord well.” Liyue and Qixin had always roamed the forests and mountains, never living in the same place for over a year. Usually, they just built simple wooden huts, even sleeping in the open at times.

The two each have a special craft, which is the only reason they didn’t starve to death.

In the end, Qixin and Liyue chose the same room. Yi Tian looked at them a little strangely.

Thinking carefully, the two of them were together before they ever gained sentience, sharing hardship and relying on each other. They had never been apart.

Yi Tian didn’t say more, instead buying various household supplies from the auction house to set up their room.

They have some experience, they’re smart, and they pick up how to use kitchen utensils right away.

”Mercenary System Notification: An employer has sent you a mission request. Mission: Locusts are rampant on the territory, clear out the locusts! Do you accept the mission?”

”Reject!”

Yi Tian thought about it and refused the mission. Want to get rid of locusts—why not use pesticide? Why come to me!

If he accepted and couldn’t handle the locusts, his win rate wouldn’t be 100% anymore.

Yi Tian knew all too well how troublesome locusts were.

Wait!

Locusts!

It must be a locust plague, or why would a lord spend money hiring mercenaries?

Fish-eating Stork, locusts—the Celestial Dao Rules always have a trick up their sleeve.

The Celestial Dao is trying to limit the lords’ food supply.

By now, most lords have several slaves, some even a dozen or dozens.

Even though two tenths of the Celestial Dao World lords have died, more and more mouths need feeding.

Yesterday it was Fish-eating Stork, today it’s locusts; tomorrow, there’s bound to be something new.

”At this rate, Zone 10086 will have a locust plague this afternoon, at the latest tomorrow.”

How to deal with it?

The locust plague in the Celestial Dao World isn’t like Earth’s. Counting on the Fire-breathing Sister to torch the sky isn’t realistic. Anyone who’s seen a locust plague knows—they swarm everywhere, flying in the air and from all directions.

As individuals, locusts are fragile—one stomp kills them—but in a swarm, they’re a headache!

Yi Tian knew locusts didn’t just eat vegetables and seedlings; they eat tree leaves and flowers too.

If the locusts run rampant, his domain might lose all its greenery.

Duck herding to control locusts!

Yi Tian had heard stories about this and apparently it works pretty well.

Auction house has plenty of live ducks for sale.

But that’s only good for small-scale outbreaks.

Besides, Yi Tian was sure the ducks were ordinary ducks, and these locusts probably weren’t ordinary at all.

Seems there’s no solution!

Basically, it’s a move to cut off the lords’ grain and veggies.

Birds are natural enemies of locusts, but maybe if there were a pack of fierce beast birds they could handle them.

But for some reason, not a single bird has ever appeared in the territory.

”Lord...”

Liyue saw Yi Tian frowning, and as soon as she began to speak, Yi Tian cut her off: ”Call me Lord from now on!”

”Lord, is something troubling you? Can we sisters help you?” Liyue asked Yi Tian.

”Locusts, do you know them?” Yi Tian didn’t hide anything, telling Liyue directly.

Liyue has a group attack talent, and can transform spiritual power into petal attacks.

If it comes to fighting locusts head-on, Liyue is definitely one of his main anti-locust fighters. Good to let her mentally prepare now.

”Of course! Those fist-sized, super-annoying things. Every time my sister brews spirit honey, locusts from dozens of miles around rush over.” Liyue raised her clenched little fist, obvious disgust showing on her delicate face.

”Fist-sized? Locusts in Celestial Dao World are that scary? Wait, you said your sister brewing spirit honey attracts locusts?” Yi Tian thought to himself, if he used ducks to fight those, even the ducks could get eaten.

But upon hearing that Qixin’s spirit honey could attract locusts, he quickly asked Liyue for details.

”Yes! My sister and I each have an innate craft. My sister can brew Hundred Flowers Spirit Honey, I can brew Hundred Flowers Spirit Wine. Drinking the spirit wine can cure all diseases and increase spiritual power affinity; eating a piece of spirit honey lets you go three days without food or water, and also boosts your spiritual power affinity.” Liyue smiled at Yi Tian and added, ”Hundred Flowers Spirit Honey especially attracts all sorts of insects, butterflies, and bees. We once went to a place with lots of locusts. As soon as my sister brewed some spirit honey, swarms of locusts descended, covering the honey, and we couldn’t drive them away.”

”What are the requirements for brewing Hundred Flowers Spirit Honey? How much time does it take?” Yi Tian pressed for answers.

Locusts are hard to deal with exactly because they’re everywhere, from all directions.

If he could round them up, Fire-breathing Sister, Elemental Warriors, and Five Tigers could blast them to bits in one go.

”If all spirit flowers are used, the honey is top grade, and the higher the flower level, the more magical the honey. If spirit flowers are the main ingredient and ordinary flowers are auxiliary, the honey is a bit less potent. As long as there’s enough spirit flowers, my sister can brew a batch in three hours.” Liyue answered softly.

”Mm! There are two Illusory Purple-Blue spirit flowers in the flowerbeds by the villa. Southwest corner of the estate, more than fifty spirit flowers are about to bloom—those can be harvested for honey. These are all A-level and B-level spirit flowers. If that’s not enough, you can gather wildflowers on the plains and lakeside.” Yi Tian told Liyue.

”Fifty flowers, more than enough. We only harvest the honey, not harming the flowers’ essence; in just a few days, we can harvest again.” Liyue said happily. Before they gained sentience, though they were SS-level spirit flowers, the spirit flowers they’d seen over the years were all below A-level.

To brew such advanced Hundred Flowers Spirit Wine, Liyue was very excited.

”You don’t need petals for making the spirit wine?” Yi Tian was curious.

He could see how harvesting nectar for Honey works.

But brewing spirit wine—does it use nectar too?

”No need. Every spirit flower exudes a single dewdrop each morning; that dew contains the flower’s essence, and I’ve always used floral dew to brew my spirit wine.” Liyue explained to Yi Tian.

”I see. What’s spiritual power affinity?” Yi Tian asked, confused.

”Our Hundred Flowers Spirit Wine and Spirit Honey must be taken regularly to boost spiritual power affinity. I used to need three breaths to unleash one Spiritual Power Petal, now I only need half a breath.” Liyue replied to Yi Tian.

Yi Tian nodded slightly. This meant deeper fusion with spiritual power, shortening the casting time. Liyue and Qixin, sure, had grown in spiritual power, but now they could attack every half breath, which is kind of terrifying.

They’re not even B-level yet.

One breath is two seconds, half a breath is one second. Even the evolved Five Tigers need three seconds to launch a spirit attack.

Clearly, Qixin and Liyue have a very high spiritual power affinity.

Yi Tian felt like he’d struck gold. In the future, he’d plant more spirit flowers and try to fill his garden, letting the two help him brew spirit flower wine and honey to boost his spiritual power affinity.

From what Liyue said, the longer you take Hundred Flowers Spirit Honey and Spirit Wine, the better the quality and the stronger the effect.

At first, he thought Liyue and Qixin were just powerful helpers, but now it seemed their value was unimaginable.

The higher his spiritual power affinity, the more powerful Yi Tian’s Celestial Ice Palm would become.

Now he didn’t even have to cook breakfast himself and could spare time to practice Celestial Ice Palm.

If he managed to master it, Celestial Ice Palm might be even more ferocious than his talent skills.

If he managed to get a Thunder Skill in the future, he’d be just like his senior brother—casting endless lightning with no cooldown—just thinking about it made him excited.

”Alright! Liyue, later you and Qixin transplant all the spirit flowers from the southwest corner to the beds by the villa. From now on, the Spirit Garden will be your responsibility.” After saying this, Yi Tian solemnly instructed Liyue, ”This afternoon or, at the latest, tomorrow, locusts might come. So try to brew the spirit honey as soon as possible and get everything set.”

”Don’t worry, Lord, I’ll go get my sister right away.” Liyue hurried upstairs to find Qixin, afraid to delay the Lord’s important matters.

After Liyue left, Yi Tian opened the regional channel.

”Everyone, please note! Word is, some regions have suffered locust invasions. These locusts are as big as fists, chickens and ducks alone can’t deal with them. Harvest as many crops as you can, as soon as you can. Maybe in the next moment, maybe tomorrow, our region will face a locust invasion too.”—Yi Tian, Earth Human Race.

”Damn it, Celestial Dao, you son of a bitch.”

”Laozi’s fish are gone, and now you’re coming for Laozi’s grain and vegetables?”

”Not just grain and vegetables, bet you the trees and grasslands will get trashed too.”

”Yesterday when Yi Tian mentioned fish-eating storks, I didn’t take it seriously, but now I believe him. I have to collect my veggies and hide them.”

After the Fish-eating Stork incident yesterday, plenty of people trusted Yi Tian’s words now, sure he wouldn’t make things up.

”My young trees finally just started growing, what am I supposed to do!”—Forest Elf Mumu Qingqing, anxious.

”This world’s soil is super fertile. So what if the leaves are gone, it’s nothing. Give it ten days or half a month, it’ll be spring again.”—Yi Tian, Earth Human Race.

”Yi Tian, I heard you went to see Emperor Shan today, is that true?” someone asked Yi Tian in curiosity.

”Mist Scrolls—I’m not the only one in the district who has one.” Yi Tian replied straightforwardly. His Junior-level Mist Scroll came out of a Silver Treasure Chest.

These things are super valuable; everyone is keeping theirs close, no one would ever sell one no matter how broke they got.

”Yi Tian, Emperor Shan says you have a mount, your three-dimensional stats are above 600, and something about SSS Talent.”—Sheep-headed Yang Yangyang.

”You guys actually believe what Emperor Shan says? Might as well prepare for the locust plague.”—Yi Tian, Earth Human Race.

”Fish-eating Stork, locusts, will they come after our livestock next?”—Turtle Race’s Gui Jie.

”Anyone notice today’s temperature is about 10°C higher than usual, and the humidity’s way up? Used to average 15°C, but if it keeps rising tomorrow, stored meat will spoil even faster—even cured meat won’t keep.”—Qin Fanshuang, Earth Human Race.

”Just noticed beast meat I cooked earlier has already gone off. Auction house meats, there were three figures less on sale today.”—Wind Race Chief Chang Feng.

”So, we’re looking at a food crisis? I couldn’t have imagined this a month ago!”—Pigman Race Pig Boar, in disbelief.

”There’s not even any grain for sale at the auction house. Otherwise I’d be buying some to store.”

The first wave of crops planted by the lords was small, and after harvesting, most was kept for seed, so grain in the auction house has always been in short supply.

Now in the second wave, everyone’s planted much more, but the soonest it will mature is six or seven days from now.

Yi Tian has always used advanced soil to cultivate grain and vegetable seeds.

The advanced soil covers ten acres; the spirit medicine only occupies a small corner. The rest—ninety-nine percent—is used to cultivate seeds. Each batch takes only four to five days—he’s already grown four batches so far.

His seed nurture room is packed with seeds. And the advanced soil is still cultivating seeds nonstop.
