Global Lords: Me and My Calabash Kiddos

Chapter 61: Chapter 54: Enlightenment Tea Tree

When a mercenary is transported, they must hold the Celestial Dao Stone.

The female elf hadn’t yet reached into her pocket for the Celestial Dao Stone when the Thunder Crocodile’s large mouth was right in front of her.

The speed of over six hundred was too fast.

”Whoosh...”

Just as the female elf thought she was done for, an arrow shot toward the gaping mouth of the Thunder Crocodile.

The Full Moon Dragon Bow, with an attack power of over a thousand, pierced right through the mouth of the Thunder Crocodile.

On the other side, Leopard Head, who had been ready, leaped like a panther, soaring into the air.

It stepped on the rocks as if walking on flat ground, about to disappear from Yi Tian’s sight.

Yi Tian, having released the first arrow, had already pulled out a second one and instantly aimed at Leopard Head.

Leopard Head felt as if it was being watched by a prehistoric beast, and even its airborne stance paused for a moment.

”Whoosh...”

The sound of the bowstring seemed to ring next to his ear, and Leopard Head felt a chill down its spine just as it was about to dodge.

However, as the bowstring twanged, the arrow had already struck the back of Leopard Head’s heart.

The whole body fell from mid-air, unable to complete such a high-difficulty maneuver.

The battle was not over!

Even with its mouth pierced by Yi Tian’s shot, the Thunder Crocodile was still alive.

The female elf seized the moment of the Thunder Crocodile’s pain to retreat quickly into a safe area.

The Thunder Crocodile, with an alloy steel arrow hanging from its mouth, had blood-red eyes, and the large purple lump on its forehead crackled with electricity.

Just as Yi Tian struck Leopard Head, a bolt of lightning shot toward him.

”Celestial Ice Palm!”

Yi Tian, holding the bow in his left hand, gathered a layer of ice on his right hand and struck at the bolt of lightning.

”Boom!”

At the sound of the impact, the ice on Yi Tian’s palm shattered, and the lightning vanished without a trace.

Yi Tian only felt a slight numbness in his right hand. After making a fist and opening his palm, his right hand returned to normal.

In close combat, Yi Tian wasn’t a match for the Thunder Crocodile even if there were ten of him. After recovering, he once again drew an arrow, aiming at the purple lump on the Thunder Crocodile’s head.

”Whoosh...”

While the Thunder Crocodile was still gathering power for a second lightning attack, Yi Tian preemptively shot at the purple lump.

”Boom!”

It was as if a mine had been triggered, as the entire head of the crocodile exploded, and the shockwave pushed Yi Tian back three steps.

Once Yi Tian steadied himself and looked up, he saw that the Thunder Crocodile was already collapsed in its original spot, motionless. The lump on its head was the Crocodile’s fatal weakness.

It wasn’t that the Thunder Crocodile’s defense was poor; it was that Yi Tian’s arrow was too powerful.

The Full Moon Bow could pierce through a bow with a body constitution of 1000, and the immense power made the arrow even faster.

Not to mention, Yi Tian had Level 3 Archery Mastery.

”Congratulations to the Lord for advancing Archery Mastery by one, now at LV.4, with a 40% increase in arrow power when using bows.”

Since the day before yesterday, Yi Tian had been killing Fish-eating Storks continuously, with hundreds dying at his hands, including a large number of C-level ones, which amassed him rich archery experience.

Today, he even killed an early-stage B-level lord and a mid-stage B-level beast.

This directly pushed Yi Tian to complete his advancement.

At this stage, Yi Tian wouldn’t casually use his ”trump card” Five Elements Divine Light. The strength to carry a cauldron along with the Dragon Bow was Yi Tian’s most critical means of survival.

Under the watchful eyes of the female elf, Yi Tian pulled out a sword to excavate the Thunder Crocodile’s beast core.

Then he went to the Leopard Head’s corpse and retrieved the Celestial Dao Stone from its body.

Other than the Celestial Dao Stone and a C-level dagger, Leopard Head had no other relics.

”Aren’t you leaving? Hurry back! Be more careful in the future.” Yi Tian prepared to shoo away the female elf and seize the treasure himself. At such a time, anyone who dared to rob him would be turned against.

”Thank you for your help! Let’s add each other as friends, and I will repay you.” The female elf walked over, sincerely expressing her gratitude to Yi Tian.

”No need, we are all mercenaries and should follow the rules.” Yi Tian refused on the spot.

At the auction house, even when Purple Phoenix Moon Dance and the Great Emperor wanted to add Yi Tian as a friend, he rejected them without hesitation. They could only contact Yi Tian when he went online to the auction house.

”What is your mercenary codename?” The female elf felt slightly uncomfortable but still wished to stay in contact with Yi Tian.

”Second in the World!” Yi Tian enunciated each word clearly.

”Why second?” The female elf questioned.

”So many questions! Hurry back, prepare for the locust plague.” Yi Tian just wanted to drive the female elf away.

Both were mercenaries and not rival mercenaries, so Yi Tian chose not to become enemies with the female elf.

”Why would there be a locust plague?” The female elf thought Yi Tian was tricking her and instinctively looked into the canyon as if she knew something.

”Detected locusts entering the territory. Please, Lord, prepare accordingly!” The next second, the female elf’s expression changed.

Unexpectedly, Yi Tian’s words became a prophecy!

”Until next time, Second in the World. I’ll invite you to my territory tomorrow. I have matters to attend to, so I’m leaving now.” With that, the female elf grasped the Celestial Dao Stone and disappeared.

Yi Tian was speechless. Did the female elf not read through the Mercenary Manual?

The Mercenary Manual clearly states that if a client is not in danger and hires a mercenary, the mercenary will be deemed to have exploited the victory rate, forbidding them from taking any assignments for a month.

Though this case wasn’t as severe as Leopard Head’s, it was still a breach of trust.

Mercenaries must primarily maintain their credibility.

Celestial Dao Rules will impose penalties on any mercenary for breach of trust.

After passing through the winding valley, Yi Tian finally reached the end of the canyon.

Contrary to Yi Tian’s expectations of a utopian world, the area was barren, nothing but rocks.

Only on the cliff faces grew a five-meter-long tree.

The bark of this tree is very rough, with fissures and rugged protrusions. It appears extremely ancient and weathered.

Interestingly, its leaves come in three colors: green, silver, and red.

The leaves are layered, creating a distinct sense of depth.

This is not the entirety of the tree; there are even more peculiar aspects.

At the end of each small branch, there are three leaves of three colors.

These leaves alternate between green, silver, and red, seeming to be enveloped in spiritual energy.

”Enlightenment Tea, SSS-grade. Produces a cycle of tea leaves every thirty thousand months. The tricolor leaves are Enlightenment Tea. After consuming Enlightenment Tea, one briefly attains Unity of Heaven and Man, advancing in martial skills and magic at an astonishing pace. Currently mature in 10 months.”

Yi Tian obtained information about the Enlightenment Tea through the Celestial Dao Stone.

At first glance, it doesn’t increase attribute spiritual power, but its efficacy brings Yi Tian immense joy.

No wonder Leopard Head went against the rules to enter this valley.

If the Enlightenment Tea is acquired, one can teleport back using the Mist Scroll.

Mercenary?

No need for that nonsense. Just take off flying!

With Leopard Head’s strength, it’s easy to gather a hundred drops of Wood Spirit Liquid.

At that time, with a villa by the sea and spring flowers blooming, life would be incredibly comfortable.

Now, all of this will be for Yi Tian’s benefit.

This tea tree is five meters tall, with dense branches and leaves.

Yi Tian calculated slightly; the Enlightenment Tea tree has eighty-one branches, each with nine small twigs.

At the top of each twig, there are three leaves of Enlightenment Tea.

Converting it, this Enlightenment Tea has 2,187 leaves.

”Speaking of which, the Thunder Crocodile has quite a taste. I wonder how long it’s been out of the water to protect this Enlightenment Tea.”

”Thirty thousand months per cycle. The Five Elements Sacred Fruit at the same SSS-grade is only one thousand months per cycle. Luckily the Enlightenment Tea Tree has matured, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to manage.”

The Water of Life is only roughly 10,500 drops remaining. Drawing them again is incredibly difficult. So Yi Tian has always been very restrained.

After understanding the Enlightenment Tea Tree, Yi Tian prepared to move it.

The Enlightenment Tea Tree’s roots are about ten meters from the valley floor. Yi Tian could choose to jump up and forcibly pull it out.

This might damage the source of the Enlightenment Tea.

But as an SSS-grade Spirit Tree, its life force is strong. Growing on the rock can show it won’t die easily.

Another option is to climb up and break the rocks around the root of the Enlightenment Tea Tree, preserving the complete root.

Yi Tian has ample time and chooses the second option.

He climbs to the root of the Enlightenment Tea, pulls out the C-grade longsword hanging from his waist, and starts digging around the root.

Due to the Mountain Lifting and Cauldron Carrying effect still active, cutting rocks with the Divine Weapon is as sharp as a knife cutting tofu.

In less than ten minutes, Yi Tian digs out a small cave and removes the entire root of the Enlightenment Tea Tree.

”Haha! Leaving for a thousand years, the Enlightenment Tea should be nearly mature!”

Just as Yi Tian pulls out the entire root of the Enlightenment Tea, he suddenly hears a voice from outside the canyon, causing his heart to tremble.

The voice isn’t loud but carries a full breath and echoes clearly in the quiet valley.

”What kind of thief dares to steal my Enlightenment Tea Tree?”

The next moment, the voice rings out again, filled with anger.

He roars loudly, shaking Yi Tian’s eardrums.

Yi Tian decided on the spot, regardless of the person’s appearance, to immediately take out the Celestial Dao Stone and activate the teleportation.

With a flash of white light, Yi Tian and the Enlightenment Tea Tree vanish together.

In less than a second after Yi Tian disappears, a red-haired Lion-headed Human appears in the tiny cave Yi Tian just dug.

Unfortunately, too late, there’s no trace of the Enlightenment Tea left.

”Tap!”

A loose stone falls from the top of the small cave.

”Ah... No matter who you are, I’ll find you and skin you alive.” The tiny stone seemed to ignite a powder keg, as the red-haired Lion-headed Human roared, causing the entire valley to shatter into countless fragments.

...

”Wow, that was intense... Above S-grade, and possibly even SSS-grade.” Back in the territory, Yi Tian felt residual fear, thinking that had he been a second slower, he might not have made it.

”Heavenly and Earthly Treasures, those destined to obtain them. If you kill me, it is my fate. Otherwise, it should be your fortune.” Outside the villa, Yi Tian hugged the Enlightenment Tea Tree and laughed.

The strong one might be as far from Yi Tian as a galaxy is distant. No need to fear reprisal.

Moreover, even if retaliation was desired, one cannot enter the mist.

According to Gu Qianqiu, the Feng Kingdom he used to belong to only barely understood the Celestial Dao World, as Earth Human Race studies the cosmos and sees only a fragment, leading to the perception of the cosmos as infinitely vast.

This world has its own Celestial Dao Rules, where everyone travels long distances via teleportation.

Yi Tian knows that this area is known as the Ten Kingdoms Region.

A vast area dominated by ten Indigenous People countries.

However, these ten countries are not invincible, as many Tribal Alliances can rival any country among the Ten Kingdoms, and often defeat nations.

For example, the Horn Alliance, which includes the Three-Eyed One-Horned Tribe and Heaven-Reaching Tribe.

In the backyard of the villa, Yi Tian dug a large pit in a patch of top-level soil closest to the creek and buried the Enlightenment Tea.

Inside the villa, top-level soil is used to grow spirit fruits and spirit flowers in flower beds.

All idle lands are planted with vegetables, maturing every two days.

When spirit fruits are needed, these vegetables are moved out, which is not much hassle.

After using ten drops of Water of Life, the tricolor leaves on each small branch of the Enlightenment Tea Tree emit radiant light.

Half an hour later, the radiance fades, indicating that the Enlightenment Tea Tree has entered the maturity stage, ready for harvest at any time.
