Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 398: Chapter 368: Seeing the Evil Cult Again

”An even more evil aura?” Li Qian was a little confused, but he didn’t pay it much mind.

He figured it was nothing more than a slightly stronger fluctuation of Undead Element energy.

That’s what Li Qian thought, so he wasn’t too concerned. But soon, he realized something was wrong.

The footsteps that had just left were now approaching again.

”Why won’t these guys just give up?” Li Qian said impatiently.

The instant the words left his mouth, swift Wind Blades, high-temperature Fireballs, and enormous boulders suddenly assailed him without the slightest warning.

Li Qian was very confused. These guys actually dared to attack him directly, and from the looks of it, they were aiming to kill.

This made Li Qian quite angry. Without the slightest hesitation, he ordered Xiaoliu to use the Dragon Guardian skill.

A translucent curtain of light suddenly appeared, forming a wall of light in front of Li Qian. This was the skill Xiaoliu had used—Dragon Guardian.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Fireballs, Wind Blades, boulders... all sorts of skills rained down as if they were free, but they were all blocked by the wall of light.

Li Qian’s expression was grim as he watched the five people and their Pet Beasts slowly approach. Soon, he couldn’t help but frown.

”This is...?!” He finally noticed what was wrong. The five people had strange gaits, their bodies twisting and contorting like the trees in the Strange Wood Forest. Moreover, their eyes were completely red.

The scene was strangely familiar, instantly jogging Li Qian’s memory. Back when the semester had just started, Lu Tianjiao’s old flame, Mary Galoway, had been in the same condition.

’Could it be that the Cult Organization that was controlling Mary Galoway has spread here?’

If that was the case, he had to take this seriously. By now, his reputation as a Genius Cultivator had spread throughout the entire Beast Taming University circle. He might very well become one of their targets for elimination.

The more Li Qian thought about it, the more likely this possibility seemed. He subconsciously issued a command to his three Pet Beasts via Telepathy.

Soon, the five people and their twelve pets were beaten by Li Qian’s trio until they could no longer fight. Given the difference in Potential and Power Level, even with a numerical advantage, they were no match for him.

But even though their Pet Beasts had lost the ability to fight and were beaten to the ground, the five of them, with their eyes still crimson, prepared to charge at him like wild animals.

Seeing this, Li Qian couldn’t help but frown. An idea struck him, and he immediately gave a command to Chicken Hair.

Upon receiving the command, Chicken Hair didn’t hesitate, immediately casting the Blessing of Light skill. Strictly speaking, this was a buff skill that could grant allies and itself status boosts, increasing recovery and combat power. However, when used on Undead or cursed targets, it would become a Purification Skill, cleansing the filth.

Previously, when Lu Tianjiao’s old flame, Mary Galoway, had turned into a spider woman, she had been saved by the Purification Skill cast by Xue Yuan’s Shamira.

Now, with no other way to save them, Li Qian could only try this as a last-ditch effort.

As the Blessing of Light skill was cast, a gentle radiance scattered down from Chicken Hair’s wings, enveloping the five people.

”AHHHH...” As the gentle light enveloped them, the five people immediately collapsed upon contact.

The five people, their faces once hateful and ferocious, immediately stopped moving. They collapsed to the ground, letting out a series of howls like wounded beasts.

Watching their faces twist in agony, Li Qian’s heart grew heavy. If the Cult Organization behind this had truly spread here, then this competition probably wouldn’t go so smoothly.

With a heavy heart, Li Qian stared intently at the five people who were screaming in pain and writhing on the ground. He felt no pity, continuing to communicate with Chicken Hair to maintain the Blessing of Light skill.

Under the radiance of the Blessing of Light, after about five minutes, all five of them opened their mouths in unison and violently spat out a mouthful of black blood.

Within the black blood, a palm-sized, blood-colored flesh worm twisted and squirmed, making a ”HSSSSSS” sound that was quite unsettling to behold.

The scene was so similar to what had happened with Mary Galoway. With just one glance, Li Qian knew it was definitely the handiwork of that Cult Organization.

Forced out by the Blessing of Light skill, the gentle radiance was like boiling water to the blood-colored flesh worm. To the naked eye, the worm began to struggle desperately.

However, after leaving the human body, the worm was like a fish out of water. It struggled and flailed for a moment, then went still. Finally, it completely disintegrated, evaporating into a wisp of gray smoke.

Once the flesh worms left their bodies, the five people also instantly went still. After the worms had evaporated into smoke, Li Qian went over to check on them. All five were still breathing and not in any life-threatening danger; they had just passed out.

At the fissure’s exit, Li Qian glanced at the Pet Beasts scattered everywhere and the five unconscious people. After a moment of thought, he decided to use his high-powered communicator to contact the four people Underground.

After sending the message, about three minutes passed with no response. Li Qian couldn’t help but frown.

’Could something have happened Underground, too?’

At this thought, Li Qian’s brow furrowed. He wondered, ’Should I jump down and take a look?’

But just then, faint vibrations seemed to emanate from the fissure.

Li Qian immediately halted and instructed his three Pet Beasts to be ready to strike at his command.

The vibrations grew stronger. After about a minute, accompanied by a loud RUMBLE... a group of four people leaped out of the fissure. Every one of them was covered in dust, looking utterly wretched.

”What’s going on?” Li Qian was a bit stunned by the sight and immediately asked.

”Behind us... there’s something huge back there!” Lu Tianjiao looked at Li Qian as if he were a savior. He pointed at the fissure, his voice just short of a tearful accusation.

At his side were two Pet Beasts: a Mountain-moving Deer and an Azure Dragon Turtle.

When Li Qian saw the Azure Dragon Turtle, his pupils contracted slightly. Lu Tianjiao’s Pet Beast wasn’t as terrifying as the one from the city-attack incident in Zhonghai City, but it was still astonishing.

After all, it was an Emperor Level Pet Beast. Even though it hadn’t fully matured and was only at the Power Level of a Tier Two Commander, it was far beyond what an ordinary Pet Beast could compare to.

As for the Five-Colored Swan, Li Qian didn’t see it. Considering they had been fighting Underground, he had expected that this Pet Beast wouldn’t have been summoned.

Finally seeing Lu Tianjiao’s true strength, Li Qian was not only surprised but also grew tense.

Besides Lu Tianjiao, the other three were no slouches either. For a team of four like that to be chased out in such a sorry state, one could only imagine how terrifying the enemy was.
