Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 355: Chapter 325: Rock Giant

Complaining was one thing, but at a moment like this, Li Qian knew what he should and shouldn’t do.

He summoned Qizai without hesitation and gave the order, ”Attack that spot!”

”ROAR!” Qizai let out a resounding dragon’s cry, then condensed a ball of water before it.

Spinning at an immense speed, the ball of water shot out, its target the small earthen mound.

Although he had detected an Energy Intensity of the Dominator Level, Li Qian was unafraid and took the initiative to attack.

According to the reading on his Energy Detection Watch, although the suddenly-appeared Extraordinary Creature had reached the Dominator Level, it had only just broken into it.

With Qizai’s superior Racial Potential and its strength as a Tier Two Commander, a fight wasn’t out of the question. The chances of victory were minuscule, but temporarily holding the creature off shouldn’t be a problem.

Besides that, the creature’s attribute was another reason Li Qian chose to attack. ’Since the unknown Extraordinary Creature from Underground was guarded by a group of Rock Monsters, it’s likely a superior Evolutionary Form of the same species.’

’In that case, the unknown Extraordinary Creature is almost certainly of the Earth Element. Qizai’s Water Skill should be quite effective against it.’

RUMBLE...

The high-speed, rotating ball of water shot straight into the smoke and rubble, making the scene even more chaotic and murky.

”ROAR...”

From within the dust and mist, a roar tore through the air, one filled with palpable, immense fury.

Clearly, Li Qian’s attack had not been for naught; the unknown enemy had been hit by Qizai’s Skill and was now enraged.

”Be careful!” Dakoli shouted the moment he heard the furious roar, his face filled with grave concern.

”Just our luck. We go half a day without seeing a single Extraordinary Creature, and then we run into this behemoth,” Pilo couldn’t help but complain. At the same time, he commanded his Pet Beast, a Shadow Frog, to follow up with a Shadow Ball.

Regardless of whether it would be effective, he would never pass up a chance to get in some free damage.

”Well now, we might be in big trouble this time!” Li Yuhu said the word ”trouble,” but her face was alight with excitement. Her Pet Beast, the Three-legged Kite, had already soared back into the air to attack, unleashing a fierce Gale Slash.

Wang Guanjun, who also had his Pet Beast out, instantly joined the fray. They were all elites among the Beast Masters of their generation, with a strong ability to seize opportunities. They might voice fear and worry, but their attacks never faltered for a second.

”I don’t think we need to retreat just yet. An Extraordinary Creature that just reached the Dominator Level... it’s not impossible to fight,” Ding Ganmao said, as his River-Flipping Crocodile swiftly joined the battle.

”Then let’s give it a try.” Dakoli glanced at the others, then at the Energy Detector on his wrist. Steeling himself, he made a decision.

Having made up his mind, he directly summoned his Pet Beast: a simian creature covered in golden fur. It stood three meters tall, exuding an impressive and rather frightening aura.

’A Fighting Element Pet Beast, the Meteor Monkey!’ Li Qian identified the Pet Beast the instant Dakoli summoned it.

Upon seeing the Meteor Monkey, a flicker of imperceptible astonishment crossed Li Qian’s face. ’Looks like this Dakoli’s background is anything but simple.’

Although the Meteor Monkey was a Fighting Element Pet Beast—a conceptual attribute—its rarity and Racial Potential were both high.

Its Racial Potential reached a stunning Tier Eight Dominator, just one tier below the Frostfire Salamander. A gap in Racial Potential like that was essentially negligible.

Of course, that was all secondary. Most importantly, Li Qian sensed that Dakoli’s Meteor Monkey had also reached the Commander Level. Even though it had likely just broken through, that was still an incredible feat.

Li Qian had long known that among the students of the Eight Great academies, his own Level was merely decent, far from outstanding. He just never expected to run into a genius who was in no way his inferior.

’No, strictly speaking, he’s an even greater genius than I am.’

Li Qian was well aware that his Golden Finger had played an indispensable role in him achieving his current Power Level—a cheat that Dakoli did not possess.

After summoning the Meteor Monkey, Dakoli immediately gave an order. The beast attacked without hesitation, throwing a punch.

As the Meteor Monkey’s fist flew, a translucent Fist Shadow of energy shot straight out and plunged into the dust.

RUMBLE...

A medley of Skills slammed into the area, crisscrossing currents of Energy plowing through the earthen mound and leaving behind a scene of utter devastation.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

”ROAR...”

Rubble flew as the small mound exploded completely. A behemoth leaped out, letting loose an even more ferocious roar.

As the dust began to settle, a jagged figure appeared before them. Its entire body was covered in a thick layer of rock that glinted with a dark, yellowish-brown light.

”It’s a Rock Giant! This is bad!” Wang Guanjun, who was quite knowledgeable about Pet Beasts and Extraordinary Resources, instantly cried out in alarm.

The Rock Monster did indeed have an Evolutionary Form—the Rock Giant. It was the Rock Monster’s most Powerful Evolutionary Form, but the conditions for this evolution were so harsh that the probability was extremely low even for human Beast Masters. It was even rarer to see one in the wild.

To think they had actually run into one here.

This was the worst possible outcome.

At the same Power Level, the higher a Pet Beast’s Racial Potential, the more terrifying its combat strength.

The Rock Giant’s Racial Potential reached Tier Three Dominator, a level the ordinary Evolutionary Form, the Giant Rock Monster, couldn’t even compare to.

Of course, the Giant Rock Monster’s Racial Potential was only Tier Seven Commander. The probability of it becoming a Limit Breaker and reaching the Dominator Level was also extremely low.

”A bit of a hassle.” Unlike Wang Guanjun, who looked panicked as if facing a great enemy, Li Qian merely frowned.

The appearance of a Rock Giant wasn’t a good outcome, but it wasn’t the worst, either. The Rock Giant’s attack power was formidable and its defense was terrifying, but its weakness was also obvious: it wasn’t fast.

In fact, the vast majority of Earth-type Pet Beasts weren’t very fast.

Li Qian felt that with Qizai’s speed, it could still run circles around it.

At worst, escaping would definitely not be a problem.

”Qizai, use Rain Prayer!” Li Qian had no intention of retreating. He directly ordered Qizai to activate one of its Weather Skills.

As a faint blue light emanated from Qizai’s body, a fierce wind suddenly whipped through the sky. An instant later, huge raindrops began to pour down.
