Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 369: Chapter 339: Suicide Bombing Robot

Li Qian dared not be the slightest bit careless. This wasn’t the time to teach Sun Shouhe an unforgettable lesson. If he didn’t go all out, he’d be the one left with a painful memory.

It was only at this moment that he finally felt a pang of regret.

’If only he had managed to form a contract with a third Pet Beast right after breaking through to Commander Level.’

’Whether it was the Extreme Fierce Sky Escape Eagle or the Tidal Sea Spirit, he wouldn’t be in such a passive position right now.’

But regrets were regrets. The most urgent task was to deal with the current crisis.

He commanded Qizai and Xiaoliu to engage the Three-eyed Ghost Wolf Beast in battle.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The commotion from the battle was immense. The sounds of their Skills colliding echoed incessantly, kicking up a conspicuous cloud of dust on the outskirts of the West Wusu Desert.

Li Qian felt a bit helpless.

’If it were daytime, Beast Masters would be passing by now and then. With a commotion this big, someone would have definitely noticed.’

’Unfortunately, it’s the dead of night, long before dawn.’

Watching the Three-eyed Ghost Wolf Beast single-handedly and steadily suppress both Qizai and Xiaoliu, Li Qian’s brow furrowed tightly.

He issued a command through his Soul Contract, telling Qizai and Xiaoliu to do their utmost to stall and avoid a direct confrontation.

After all, if they could just drag this out, time was on his side.

”Li Qian, you don’t stand a chance.” Watching the Cyan-Scaled Flood Dragon and the Frostfire Salamander fight the Three-eyed Ghost Wolf Beast, Sun Shouhe wasn’t the least bit worried.

At some point, a pistol had appeared in his hand.

Sun Shouhe gripped the pistol, his eyes glowing with a crimson light as he approached step by step.

”I’ll finish you with my own hands,” he said as he walked, casually tossing the gun in his hand with a mocking expression.

Seeing this, Li Qian didn’t hesitate for a second, pulling a Laser Pistol from his own Space Necklace.

”Oh? I didn’t expect you to have one of these. But a gun is useless if you can’t hit your target.” Sun Shouhe wasn’t the least bit concerned when he saw Li Qian draw his pistol.

And that was the very reason for Li Qian’s deepening frown.

’For Sun Shouhe to be so brazen and unworried, he must have some kind of advantage.’

’Judging by the situation, his condition is... off.’

’Very off.’

BANG!

Without any hesitation, Li Qian pulled the trigger. A laser beam shot out at incredible speed.

Li Qian’s eyes were fixed, wanting to see just what gave Sun Shouhe the confidence to be so reckless.

Soon enough, he found out.

The instant the laser beam fired, Sun Shouhe’s body moved like a phantom, shifting sideways in a blur.

That small sidestep was all it took for him to successfully dodge the incoming laser beam.

Li Qian’s brow furrowed even deeper at the sight.

’Damn, this Evil Cult’s Secret Technique is insane,’ he muttered, tightening his grip on the pistol.

’If I can’t hit him, it doesn’t matter how badass my weapon is. It’s no different from a damn fire poker.’

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Without hesitation, Li Qian pulled the trigger again, firing off a dozen more shots. Whether they hit or not, they would at least serve to buy him some time.

As long as he could stall, there was still a chance.

’Neither Sun Shouhe nor the Three-eyed Ghost Wolf Beast was in a normal state. They were acting like they were on steroids.’

’Clearly, a state like that couldn’t be maintained for long.’

’So wearing them down was the best strategy.’

But Sun Shouhe wasn’t stupid. He naturally knew what Li Qian was trying to do, so he returned fire while dodging the attacks.

Although Li Qian’s physique had been enhanced by several evolutionary feedbacks and was far beyond that of an ordinary person, taking a bullet head-on was still out of the question.

So he had no choice but to dodge, throwing himself into a clumsy roll behind a small sand dune.

That was the problem with fighting in the desert—there was virtually no cover.

Li Qian could only do his best to hold on.

He had no other weapons besides the Laser Pistol, so he was feeling truly helpless.

’Am I really going to bite the dust here...?’

After a moment’s thought, he retrieved a sphere from his Space Necklace—a milky-white orb.

This orb was the life-saving trump card Professor Yan had given him.

In the center of the milky-white sphere was a red button. Pressing it and throwing the orb would unleash a destructive force equivalent to a full-power strike from an Emperor-level Pet Beast.

Though it looked like a simple orb, it was actually a small Suicide Bombing Robot.

Faced with this predicament, Li Qian could think of no other way out besides using the Suicide Bombing Robot.

Using the Suicide Bombing Robot on a small fry like Sun Shouhe was obviously a waste—like using a cannon to swat a fly—but for the sake of his own safety, he had no other choice.

With that thought, Li Qian gritted his teeth, grabbed the small Suicide Bombing Robot, pressed the red button in its center, and hurled it forcefully toward the direction of the attack.

Empowered by the Secret Technique, Sun Shouhe’s speed and reflexes were far beyond those of an ordinary person. When he saw Li Qian throw something, he didn’t dodge. Instead, he confidently aimed... and fired.

As it turned out, his aim was quite good. The bullet accurately struck the Suicide Bombing Robot in mid-air.

DING!

The spherical shell of the Suicide Bombing Robot was incredibly hard. The bullet struck it with a metallic clang, and then... nothing. It didn’t even leave a white mark.

Sun Shouhe was startled by this. He tried to dart away and dodge, but the slight delay from firing his gun meant that by the time he moved, it was already too late.

In the end, he only managed to move five or six meters before the milky-white orb hit the ground.

The moment the milky-white orb landed, its surface erupted in a dazzling white light.

The blinding white light filled an area of a hundred meters in every direction. Even hiding behind the sand dune, Li Qian felt a wave of scorching heat.

Fortunately, he had already warned Qizai and Xiaoliu through their Soul Contract the moment he threw the orb; otherwise, with such terrifying power, they would have certainly been caught in the blast.

BOOM!

Following the flash of white light was an earth-shattering explosion. Its power was so terrifying that even from a hundred meters away, the shockwave left Li Qian’s head spinning.

The small sand dune he was behind was blasted apart by the shockwave.

About five or six seconds after the explosion, an arm burst out from the sand, followed by an entire person crawling out from the newly formed mound.

This person was none other than Li Qian.

Recalling the terrifying power of the explosion, he couldn’t help but feel a lingering fear.
