Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 353: Chapter 323: Shadow Frog, Three-legged Kite, Ghost-faced Spider

Li Qian furrowed his brow, lost in thought as he listened to Dakoli’s explanation.

He didn’t interrupt, just listened quietly.

Only after Dakoli had finished did he casually glance around at the group.

”I think these three places are the most suitable for our training expedition right now.”

”Think it over and tell me what you think. Which place is best?” With that, Dakoli began asking for everyone’s opinions.

His gaze swept over them, unhurried.

The group fell silent, lost in thought.

They began to mull over the options.

They weighed the pros and cons of the three locations.

The group walked toward the edge of town, talking and thinking as they went.

After thinking for a moment, Ding Ganmao was the first to speak up. ”First, we should rule out Wudi Ancient City.”

He continued, ”That place is filled with mostly Undead Pet Beasts, which are a pain to deal with.”

”Most importantly, I don’t think anyone in our group of eight has a Light Pet Beast.”

He finished with a word of caution, ”Until we have a way to counter them, I think it’s best we don’t set foot in there.”

Li Qian had actually been somewhat interested in Wudi Ancient City, but after hearing Ding Ganmao’s advice, he quickly changed his mind.

’Best not to go to Wudi Ancient City, at least for now.’

’The hassle of dealing with Undead Pet Beasts was just one reason.’

’There was another reason, too...’

’Traveling with so many people was actually more of a hindrance.’

’It felt restrictive.’

’If he had come alone, he would’ve chosen Wudi Ancient City without hesitation.’

’Pet Beasts of other elements might not counter the Undead Element as well as the Light Element, but it wasn’t like they couldn’t fight or do any damage.’

”So, Yellow Sand Ridge or Black Stone Forest? What’s the verdict?” Dakoli nodded, clearly agreeing with Ding Ganmao’s reasoning.

This was their first expedition into the wild since school started; there was no harm in being cautious.

”As far as I’m concerned, there’s no real difference between Yellow Sand Ridge and Black Stone Forest. I’m fine with either.”

Li Yuhu curled her lip at Dakoli’s question, her voice tinged with a cool arrogance.

Pilo glanced at the group and gave his suggestion. ”Let’s go to Black Stone Forest. It’s a little more dangerous than Yellow Sand Ridge, but the potential rewards are also greater.”

Walking at the head of the group, Pilo added casually, ”Most importantly, with our team’s current strength, I don’t think Yellow Sand Ridge would be much of a challenge for us.”

”Mm,” Li Qian nodded upon hearing this.

Clearly, he agreed with Pilo.

Seeing Li Qian’s reaction, Wang En Ci voiced the next words for him. ”Let’s go to Black Stone Forest, then.”

”Sounds good,” Dakoli and Li Yuhu both agreed.

An Duowan remained as silent and taciturn as ever.

He showed no intention of speaking.

However, he gave a slight nod to show his agreement.

”This way.” Now that they had a decision, Dakoli immediately pulled out his phone. After checking it for a moment, he stretched out his arm and pointed.

That was the way to the Black Stone Forest.

For locals like Dakoli and his friends, finding the place was a relatively easy task.

The eight of them walked in the direction Dakoli had pointed. After about two hours, as it neared eight in the morning, a sprawling black silhouette finally appeared on the horizon.

Dakoli pointed at the undulating black silhouette ahead. ”That’s the Black Stone Forest up there.”

Wang Guanjun couldn’t help but gasp in astonishment as he saw the black silhouette at the edge of his vision. ”Wow, the scale is terrifying. You have to admit, nature’s handiwork is truly incredible.”

Hearing this, a subtle, cryptic smile played on Li Yuhu’s lips. ”And who’s to say this was created by nature...?”

”What do you mean by that?” Wang Guanjun immediately caught her hidden meaning, but he found it hard to believe.

The tomboy Li Yuhu wore an enigmatic smile. ”In this Beast Taming World of ours, anything is possible, isn’t it?”

Ding Ganmao’s interest was instantly piqued. He walked over and chimed in, ”You mean... a Pet Beast?”

”Who can say for sure? Maybe it really is a masterpiece of nature, or maybe there’s another reason...” Li Yuhu added meaningfully, then said no more. She simply followed Dakoli’s pace, walking straight toward the black silhouette on the distant horizon.

Seeing this, Dakoli didn’t hesitate to call out a reminder. ”Stop chatting. We’re here. Everyone, focus up.”

There’s a saying, ”A mountain viewed from afar can run a horse to death.” Even though the eight of them were far more fit than ordinary people, it still took them a full forty-five minutes to get from their first sighting to the edge of the Black Stone Forest.

Dakoli glanced at the Black Stone Forest ahead, thought for a moment, and then gave his recommendation. ”To avoid alerting too many Pet Beasts and stirring up unnecessary trouble, or drawing some unknown danger to us, I suggest we don’t summon all of our Pet Beasts just yet. Especially the larger ones—they should remain on standby.”

Hearing this, Pilo was the first to raise his hand and volunteer. ”My Shadow Frog is fast and not too big. I can summon it to act as a lookout.”

Li Yuhu thought for a moment before directly summoning a Flying Pet Beast.

She pointed to the Flying Pet Beast she had summoned and began her introduction. ”My Three-legged Kite can serve as a scout. It’s fast, and most importantly, its eyesight is incredible. It can spot the smallest details.”

Wang Guanjun raised his hand. ”My Ghost-faced Spider has great stealth capabilities. It’s also suited for scouting our surroundings.”

”Then it’s settled.” Dakoli saw that three Pet Beasts had been chosen. With the lightning-fast Shadow Frog and the airborne Three-legged Kite, he figured ensuring the group’s safety wouldn’t be an issue.

Having designated the three Pet Beasts to stand guard and scout the area, the group no longer hesitated, heading straight into the Black Stone Forest.

They searched at a steady, unhurried pace, staying relatively close to one another. Expressions of excitement occasionally flashed across their faces.

The group had been searching the Black Stone Forest for about twenty minutes, yet they hadn’t seen a single Extraordinary Creature.

Just as everyone was starting to get a little bored, the Three-legged Kite suddenly swooped down from the sky.

Seeing this, Li Yuhu immediately called out, ”Hold on. My Three-legged Kite seems to have found something.”

”At our four o’clock, about two kilometers away.”

”What’s going on?” Ding Ganmao asked, confused at first. But then he jolted, the realization hitting him.

’They’ve run into an Extraordinary Creature?!’
