Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 388: Chapter 358: Success

As Li Qian himself had guessed, the Golden Crowned Red Feather Chicken was merely a transitional form, not a true evolution.

The same was true for the Silver Crowned Red Feather Chicken.

The reason this transitional form existed was mainly for the final evolution into a Sunbird or a Bai Yuan.

This evolutionary method involved two processes. ℯℯ𝑙.

The first was the well-known one: using Fire Cloud Grass to evolve a Red Feather Chicken into a Golden Crowned Red Feather Chicken.

The Golden Crowned Red Feather Chicken possessed a massive comb, allowing it to master the ”Light Absorption” Skill more easily.

Of course, this also made it more convenient for it to train the Skill’s proficiency.

When the Golden Crowned Red Feather Chicken trained its ”Light Absorption” Skill to the Perfection Level, it could begin its second-stage evolution.

This was the evolution from a Golden Crowned Red Feather Chicken into a Sunbird or a Bai Yuan.

This stage required two extremely precious Extraordinary Resources.

Sun Gold Crystal and Thousand-Year Volcanic Stone.

The final step was to use these two resources to evolve the Golden Crowned Red Feather Chicken into a Sunbird.

This evolution wasn’t something that could be accomplished in one fell swoop.

It also required careful and meticulous preparation.

Li Qian felt that without his Golden Finger to fill in the gaps, he probably could have spent another seven or eight years without necessarily figuring out the key details.

This was because the evolution required not only the Golden Crowned Red Feather Chicken to use its ”Light Absorption” Skill at full power, but also a certain degree of ”firepower.”

This ”firepower” was meant in the most literal sense of the word.

It meant using high-temperature fire-type Skills on the Golden Crowned Red Feather Chicken.

Li Qian wasn’t worried about this point, thanks to the existence of his Frostfire Salamander.

Having completely grasped the evolutionary method from Golden Crowned Red Feather Chicken to Sunbird, Li Qian didn’t hesitate for a moment and immediately took action.

The first thing he did was log into the internal network for the Freshman Challenge and apply for the resources he would need for the next day’s finals.

As Sun Gold Crystal and Thousand-Year Volcanic Stone were both extremely precious Extraordinary Resources, the moment Li Qian’s application was submitted, the Freshman Challenge’s organizing committee sent an inquiry to the team leader from Shazhou Beast Taming University—Ge Yuming.

They had the authority to allocate ordinary Extraordinary Resources, but these two items had to be treated with extreme caution.

Ge Yuming was the team leader for Shazhou Beast Taming University’s freshman team this time, a highly prestigious teacher from the Combat Academy.

It was said that his Beast Taming Level had already reached Dominator Peak, just one step away from advancing to the Emperor Level.

He was the young Beast Master at the entire Shazhou Beast Taming University with the best chance of reaching the Emperor rank.

After reading the contents of the inquiry, Ge Yuming was a bit baffled.

Frowning in thought for a moment, he directly called Dean Fei of the Cultivation College.

The answer he received was... support. No matter the conditions, give him full support.

To be honest, Ge Yuming was quite astonished when he first heard this response.

Such unrestrained support was something not even a highly respected old Breeder was guaranteed to receive, let alone a mere freshman.

However, based on his understanding of Dean Fei, he chose to trust him.

At the same time, a hint of anticipation appeared in his eyes.

’The finals tomorrow should be interesting. I hope he can give me a surprise...’ After muttering to himself, he directly gave a definitive reply to the Freshman Challenge’s organizing committee.

This reply wasn’t just a simple, casual sentence.

If it was discovered in the subsequent competition that Li Qian had not used these two resources properly, resulting in significant waste, Shazhou Beast Taming University would have to bear the difference in cost.

After applying for the resources, Li Qian immediately called home.

He asked his parents to teleport Ji Fa and its ”wife,” Caiyun, over to him.

If he contacted them now, they should be able to teleport them over by tomorrow morning.

Everything was still on schedule.

Of course, it was precisely because there was enough time that Li Qian was considering switching the Evolutionary Pet Beast.

Time flew by, and the next day, at nearly nine in the morning, Ji Fa and its wife, Caiyun, were sent to Mo Yuan City.

Around the same time, his parents called to confirm it.

Upon receiving Ji Fa’s and Caiyun’s Beast Taming Balls, Li Qian’s face lit up with joy.

He released the two beasts to let them stretch their legs.

Under the observation of his Beast Taming Talent, the Eye of True Sight, Ji Fa’s information was clearly displayed.

After these past few months of training, its ”Light Absorption” Skill had indeed reached the Perfection Level.

Li Qian was very satisfied with this.

It at least proved that during this time, Ji Fa hadn’t been slacking off.

Even its wife, Caiyun, had reached the Skilled Level in her ”Light Absorption” Skill.

This was without it having evolved into a Silver Crowned Red Feather Chicken, which was enough to show that it had also been training diligently during this period.

Recalling Ji Fa and Caiyun into their Beast Taming Balls, Li Qian delayed no further and walked straight toward the competition grounds.

”Bro, what are you showing off this time?” On the way to the backstage area, Lu Tianjiao suddenly asked.

Li Qian glanced at him and chuckled. ”This time, I’m going big.”

With that, he waved and headed straight for the backstage of the competition venue.

After waiting backstage for about ten minutes, Li Qian received the notification to enter the venue.

He pressed a button, and his figure disappeared into the Cultivation Room.

He didn’t immediately take out Ji Fa’s Beast Taming Ball. Instead, he first took out Caiyun’s.

”CLUCK CLUCK CLUCK...” Caiyun appeared in the Cultivation Room, letting out an excited cry.

With a thought, Li Qian took out a translucent crystal.

Inside the translucent crystal were crescent-shaped markings.

It looked quite mysterious.

According to Huang Xin, this Silver Moon Crystal could evolve an ordinary Red Feather Chicken into a Silver Crowned Red Feather Chicken.

As for how to use it, the method was simple: just crush the Silver Moon Crystal and have the Red Feather Chicken peck at and eat the pieces.

Originally, Li Qian was prepared to copy this method, but on second thought, he felt that the energy utilization rate of this approach definitely wouldn’t be very high.

So, he thought of another method.

If this method didn’t work, he could always fall back on the one Huang Xin provided.

With the attitude of giving it a try, Li Qian gave Caiyun an order... to use the ”Light Absorption” Skill on the Silver Moon Crystal.

As a faint, silver-gray light emerged from its body, an even gentler and more profound, clear radiance seeped out from the Silver Moon Crystal.

The clear radiance flowed like water, eventually gathering into a wisp of misty light that slowly poured into Caiyun’s body.

”It worked!” Seeing this, Li Qian couldn’t help but reveal a joyful expression.

Although it wasn’t the successful evolution of a Sunbird, this warm-up had achieved a good result and gotten today’s competition off to a good start.
