A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 981: Chapter 973: Taro Man

Hiss...

Green suddenly felt a burning pain on his face, coupled with an indescribable sense of relief.

Underneath the Face of Truth, his eyes gazed intently; it was a purified soul attribute of pure energy, which was nourishing his stigmata soul through the lip print left by the Stigmata Sorcerer of Soul-devouring Kiss on the Face of Truth.

Oh...

Since Green’s soul origin lay within Xiao Ba, he witnessed Xiao Ba emitting a delighted ’moan’, staggering around as if drunk.

”Damn, soul nourishment feels so sensational...”

Soon after, Xiao Ba dived into the Dimensional Gap.

”The Stigmata Sorcerer of Soul-devouring Kiss has already descended upon Fern Overlord City and started collecting souls on a large scale!”

Green sensed Fern Overlord City indistinctly.

The arrival of a Sixth-Level Stigmata Wizard, even to such a vast city of Plant People, would be a cataclysmic disaster, let alone a Stigmata Wizard adept at soul collection and devouring.

Crackling and popping!

The explosions of arcs lasted endlessly, and this Arc Thundercloud Stigma Sorcerer, considered extremely powerful among Level Five Stigmata Wizards, however, could not destroy the seaweed in a short time.

”Sea of Life Shackles, what exactly is it?”

In his doubts, Green, along with the Taro Man, plunged into the Lake of Life with a ”splash,” surrounded by glowing green algae creatures, as Green dived deeper.

In the chaotic seawater, a stream of electricity occasionally crossed.

The faint lip print on Green’s Face of Truth seemed like a guiding mark, accepting the vast soul energy from Fern Overlord City and following Green as they submerged into the Lake of Life.

Gurgling...

Amidst the boiling and churning lake water, clouds of bubbles enveloping green energy congregated toward the center of the Lake of Life, clearly indicating that what was flowing within this seaweed monster wasn’t Parasitic Spore Blood.

”This is a descendant left behind by primitive algae from the Parasitic Spore World, but due to the past relationship with Fern Overlord, relying on this Lake of Life, it became a powerful existence comparable to a World Divine Tree.”

The Taro Man explained the origin of the seaweed monster, yet evidently knew little.

”An underwater ancient city? It seems the so-called Sea of Life Shackles should be there.”

Green discovered an underwater ancient city sooner than the Taro Man, and as they approached, a transparent protective barrier blocked them from entering.

”What is this?”

The concept of protective barriers was unheard of to the Taro Man, and Green was slightly surprised; however, it was apparent that the activation mechanism of this protective barrier was entirely different from the wizard civilization’s protective shield.

”My body is too large; I’m afraid that passing through this barrier will lead to overall resistance from the shield and cause some unnecessary trouble; you better go.”

Saying this, Green gently touched the defense shield with his left hand holding the Book of Truth, creating a ripple.

Slowly, a vortex centered around Green’s left hand formed on the shield, maintaining the overall structural balance of the protective barrier without any damage—a fine manipulation indeed.

Meanwhile, Green’s right hand, holding the extreme abyss magic staff, released a ”crackle” source of annihilation, temporarily sacrificing part of the magic power limit, raising the Taro Man from First Level back to Third Level due to the previous offering of a large amount of Parasitic Spore Blood.

”Yes.”

The Taro Man slipped through the vortex loophole in the protective barrier opened by Green, heading towards the underwater ancient city.

When Green’s left hand left the shield, the vortex on the barrier gradually restored itself, with a ”thud,” sealing shut again.

The burning pain on the Face of Truth accompanied by an unusual sense of comfort, as a stream of pure energy drawn from soul force gathered toward Green, nurturing his soul—this was just a fraction of what the Stigmata Sorcerer of Soul-devouring Kiss had harvested, implying that the sorcerer’s true gains would be even more frightening.

Of course, at such a Sixth-Level Stigmata status, what was considerable soul nourishment for Green was only a mere embellishment for the Soul-devouring Kiss.

In the silent wait, a soul message from the Taro Man was transmitted.

Separated by a thick barrier, communication between the two was rather difficult, consuming a considerable amount of the Taro Man’s strength to convey some blurry information.

”Found the Sea of Life Shackles—it’s already open—connecting to an unknown space below; it seems to be continuously providing energy to the Sea of Life, guarded by a group of powerful Coral Worms!”

Oh?

The near-immortal energy of the seaweed monster doesn’t originate from the Sea of Life itself, but from the energy below the shackles?

Could the area below be connected to King Fern’s Source of Life Spring!?

Given the target discovery, Green wasn’t cautious about exposure any longer. His figure flashed, charging towards the protective barrier—the impact brought by the extensive origin of the Stigmata Wizard suddenly twisted the protective barrier covering a large area at the lake bottom center, forming a dent hundreds of meters deep, with Green fighting his way through into the underwater ancient city like a Foreign Domain invader brutally breaking through the World’s Veil.

”Damn it, as expected of defenses left by the Dominator; even after so many years, it retains such formidable strength.”

Struggling forward, Green noticed the seaweed monster detecting the anomaly from a distance.

Two strands of seaweed charged directly this way, stirring the surrounding lake water into a frenzy, with pressure overwhelming Green before the attack even reached.

At the same time, ”boom” echoed from the lake’s surface.

A World Guardian from the Parasitic Spore World, a terrifying scarecrow-like entity, plunged into the lake, wielding remarkable World’s Power, tracking Green through the soul forces within Fern Overlord City.

”A demonic fiend that devours souls—hidden here... Hmm!?”

Initially seeking creatures that secretly consumed and collected souls amidst chaos, only to discover Green attempting to breach the protective barrier and storm into the underwater ancient city.

Without needing further elaboration, the target was undoubtedly the Life Shackles.

”Damn it! It attempts to seize the Kin Fern Origin Life Spring—close the Life Shackles immediately!”

By closing the Life Shackles, it effectively prevents external energy from flowing through the Kin Fern Origin Life Spring and intruders from invading and stealing the world’s treasures, functioning en lieu of a protective gate for this world’s treasures.

Although, this would make the seaweed monster completely lose its Immortal Body ability.

”Master, the Life Shackles are closing.”

From within the barrier came the Taro Man’s anxious will, prompting Green to abandon the struggle to pierce through the barrier upon seeing the close approach of the two seaweed attacks along with the aggressive advance of a World Guardian.

Rumble rumble!

Meanwhile, the electricity within the Lake of Life surged, signaling the retreat of the seaweed monster as the Arc Thundercloud Stigma Sorcerer descended to the lake’s bottom.

The foreign domain invasion principles indicated that resources should be shared, and the next time the Life Shackles opened, it would likely be during the complete occupation of the Parasitic Spore World, by which numerous Stigmata Sorcerers and World Guardians would partake...

Upon realizing this, Green no longer hesitated and sent forth his resolute will to the Taro Man.

”Enter the Life Shackles yourself!” (To be continued. If you like this work, you’re welcome to vote for it on with recommendation votes and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest encouragement. Mobile users, please visit m. to read.)
