A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 980: Chapter 972: Viewing the Sky from the Bottom of a Well

”Gah, young master, he’s awake.”

Inside the ice block, after a fierce struggle, the taro plant man suddenly opened his eyes.

”Master!”

Breaking free from the ice armor’s imprisonment and restraint, the taro man, as one of the millions of soul slave monsters under Green’s command, bowed respectfully, a submission stemming from the deepest soul instinct.

”Where is the King Fern’s Source of Life Spring?”

Green went straight to the point with his question.

The taro man, who had completed soul enslavement, thought for a moment, then replied in a deep and respectful tone: ”Master, at the former source location of the King Fern, aside from those king fern divine trees, few possess specific information. I learned of a plant person who may have clues about the former King Fern’s root by chance.”

”Oh? Who?”

Green knew that the greed of that Foreign Domain Six-Command Bipedal Winged Dragon King, the Sixth-level World Master, to soak in this Spring of Life must mean it has great effects.

On the King Fern’s path to becoming a ruler, its contribution was indispensable.

”Guardian of the Sun Well’s branches and leaves over time, the Cactus.”

Green knew the Lake of Life was right next to Fern Overlord City, under that vast expanse of lake tides, a powerful seaweed creature was in fierce battle with the Stigmata Sorcerer of Soul-devouring Kiss.

But with more fifth-level Stigmata Sorcerers invading this world, it seems they’ve switched opponents now.

Judging by the faint thunderous explosions heard from there, either the Thunder Wolf King or the Thundercloud Arc Stigmata Sorcerer is engaged in battle.

Guardian of the branches and leaves over time?

Not knowing much about the history and culture of the Parasitic Spore World, Green nodded slightly and said plainly, ”Take me there.”

The taro man soul slave led the way, when suddenly a group of plant soldiers gathered in the distance, clearly drawn by the Flame Rhino’s destruction, attracting the attention of nearby Fern Overlord City guard soldiers, about twenty of them approached.

”Kill them.”

Green glanced at the plant guards rallying between the giant trees on vine bridges, and casually ordered the slave monsters following him.

With ”whoosh”, ”whoosh”, ”whoosh”, ”whoosh” sounds slicing through the air one after another, the roaring howls of these monsters echoed as Green followed the taro man, calmly heading towards the so-called Sun Well.

The ocean blue lake stretched as far as the eye could see, waves surging.

The sky was covered with sweeping dark clouds, continuous arcs of thunder, it was indeed the Thundercloud Arc Stigmata Sorcerer.

The Stigmata Sorcerer was battling giant seaweed extending from the Lake of Life, with the water containing a peculiar composite energy that rapidly healed the seaweed monster’s injuries and replenishes it, essentially a domain-like elemental life form. As long as the lake water doesn’t dry up, it’s difficult to truly kill it.

”Master, that’s the Sun Well.”

On an inconspicuous small island, only a single banana tree grew, with grapevines entwined around it and a stone well that looked like it could be submerged by rolling waves at any moment.

Without disturbing the two battling monsters in the lake waters, Green followed the taro man to the island.

”Entering the Sun Well requires sacrificing enough sacred blood of parasitic spores as a cost. I’ve heard the consumption is immense and the burden heavy, so I’ve never been here before.”

The taro man spoke as he fiercely cut open one of his branches.

With the parasitic spore blood flowing, the grapevines near the dry well eagerly sniffed the air and began to suck the blood vigorously, the taro man’s complexion increasingly turned pale, with his life force continuously diminishing.

After a long while.

Due to the massive loss of parasitic spore blood, this third-level plant man unexpectedly fell to the first level before the grapevine was satisfied and withdrew. A large banana leaf wrapped around the taro man and Green, and everything before their eyes began to quickly disappear.

The surroundings transformed into illusions, and the aura of the rules seemed to change. Either the taro man and Green entered a subsidiary space, or some external force pulled them far away to another part of this world.

The banana leaf vanished, and moments ago, outside was a stormy conflict between the Thundercloud Arc Stigmata Sorcerer and the seaweed monster; now, in the blink of an eye, there lay endless yellow sand with a solitary over one-hundred-meter-tall giant cactus standing on a dune top in the distance.

Xiao Ba didn’t follow in, Green glanced at his empty shoulder.

”Cactus?”

Though massive in size, it was pitifully weak, seemingly not even reaching the threshold of a first-level creature, like a balloon easily popped.

”You two have paid the sufficient price, one opportunity each, you can learn anything about this world’s history. I was assigned by the King Fern to preserve the rules of time’s fallen leaves.”

It seemed just a shadow of the rules, lacking self-awareness.

As for this endless desert, merely a reflection of the Sun Well’s water, a tiny illusory world bounded by the well!

Indeed fitting of a Dominator-level being, even if just a small illusory world; without the correct methods, Green would find it hard to enter.

Under Green’s guidance, the weakened taro man advanced and solemnly said, ”I want to know the exact location of the King Fern’s Source of Life Spring.”

No wonder the taro man’s burden was so immense, bearing the cost for two.

Crack!

The Cactus King, chewing for a while, spat out a leaf, which landed in the taro man’s hand, quickly vanishing.

”The restraint of the Lake of Life in Fern Overlord City needs to be unlocked!?”

The Lake of Life and Sea of Life, merely different names.

With the desired answer obtained, the taro man stepped back, while Green advanced, saying in a deep voice, ”Where is the final relic left by the King Fern in this world?”

Crack!

The Cactus King chewed again and ejected another leaf, which landed in Green’s hands.

Green caught it, frowned, and handed the leaf to the taro man; these leaves could only react to parasitic spores.

”Master, the final relic left by the King Fern is right here!”

Just as the taro man finished speaking, the space around them shifted, thunderous wave sounds faintly echoed, and with another blink, they were back on the stormy island.

”Damn, you dared to enter even an illusory world, are you crazy?”

Xiao Ba shouted, yet luckily this illusory world was merely a shallow subsidiary space, without special rules, hence not dangerous, besides, it could even be a gift for a low-grade Wizard, being a carrier for the Space-Time Sealing Technique.

Thinking this, Green coldly chuckled and slowly opened the ”Book of Truth”, with magic power surging, numerous Forgotten Runes fluttered out.

”Just use this well water to merge with the Dream-entering Mirror, as a reward for Night Shadow Sachi’s active performance during this invasion, hmph hmph.”

In cultivating trusted Wizards, Green certainly wouldn’t be stingy. (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, please visit Qidian () to cast recommendation votes, monthly votes, your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m. to read.)
