Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 100: Chapter 99: Killing the Mysterious Profundity Realm

Outside Four Seasons City, a sizeable merchant convoy was hurrying along its way.

Leading the group were two elders, both at the Mysterious Profundity First Layer; following them were a dozen cargo wagons.

Around the wagons, there were scores of guards, all Innate Martial Artists.

With such a strong force of Martial Artists, nobody dared to target them.

However, what reassured the two elders the most was not their Cultivation, but a flag erected on the carriage.

As long as the flag was there, no one dared to target their goods.

Because on the flag were written two characters, ”Murong.”

This was the cargo of the Shengbao Trading House, and no one dared to rob it or offend the Northern Mountain Murong Family.

The two elders were also deacons from the Hundred Martial City Treasure Trading Company.

One was named Murong Zhi, and the other Murong Xiong.

The two of them were driving the road leisurely, seemingly not in a hurry at all.

Murong Zhi suddenly said, ”I don’t know what set off Deacon Murong Yin yesterday. Ever since he returned from the Bai Family in Four Seasons City, he has been scowling.”

Murong Xiong laughed and said, ”Didn’t you hear? Yesterday he failed to refine the Snow Soul Pill, but Yi Xiao, who was always mocking him, managed to do it. He was humiliated in front of so many people, of course he’s angry.”

”And also, our company’s attempt to establish a presence in Four Seasons City was rejected because of Yi Xiao.”

”Yi Xiao?” Murong Zhi frowned, ”Is that the Purple Flame? The rumored Martial Arts prodigy who defeated Young Master Wuyou, who is also a formidable Pharmacist.”

”Ha.” Murong Xiong scoffed dismissively, ”What of it if he is a genius? Now, Deacon Murong Yin can’t wait to take his life. Just wait, Yi Xiao won’t have many good days left.”

As the two chatted casually, suddenly, an icy voice mysteriously appeared out of thin air.

”Oh? Is that so?”

”Who, who is speaking?” Murong Zhi’s expression turned cold.

”Whoever you are, show yourself now!” Murong Xiong shouted sternly.

Just as his words fell, a figure mysteriously appeared beside him.

”Trying to ambush? Seeking death.” Murong Zhi yelled and struck a palm towards the figure.

The figure was extremely fast, as if it had been prepared, and nobody knew what was done, but the figure flashed swiftly and retreated, not giving Murong Zhi a chance to hit him.

Just as Murong Zhi was about to pursue, his pupils suddenly dilated.

Because beside him, Murong Xiong’s chest, right at the heart, had been pierced by a small hole, and blood was gushing out.

Murong Xiong’s eyes darkened, not even aware of what had happened to him, and he had already lost consciousness.

”Murong Xiong.” Murong Zhi was shocked and pale. A Mysterious Profundity First Layer Martial Artist, was killed instantly?

”Who are you?” Murong Zhi, overwhelmed with shock and anger, demanded as he stared at the figure before him.

”Heh.” The figure chuckled briefly and spoke coldly, ”Does the Murong family have such a short memory? Weren’t you just saying that Yi Xiao won’t have many good days left?”

As the figure spoke, he conjured a surging Purple Flame Sea around them.

The figure was Xiao Yi.

”Purple Flame Yi Xiao!” Murong Zhi recognized the person before him.

”Why do you block the Murong family’s convoy, trap us, and kill a deacon? Do you intend to provoke our Murong family?” Murong Zhi said coldly.

The Purple Flame Sea encircled all the guards and wagons.

Though Murong Zhi’s words were firm, he had no confidence inside; otherwise, he wouldn’t have used his family to pressure Xiao Yi.

He could not discern Yi Xiao’s Cultivation level, only sensing that Yi Xiao emitted no aura.

But he knew that Young Master Wuyou had once slain a Mysterious Profundity Realm Warrior.

And Yi Xiao had defeated Young Master Wuyou and just now instantly killed Murong Xiong of the Mysterious Profundity First Layer.

So, in his view, Yi Xiao must possess the strength of at least the Mysterious Profundity Third Layer or more.

Being only a Mysterious Profundity First Layer himself, even with the guards behind him, he definitely couldn’t defeat a Third Layer.

Faced with Murong Zhi’s questioning, Xiao Yi did not respond.

This action made Murong Zhi even more panicked inside.

”Yi Xiao, don’t think just because you’re a Martial Arts genius and a fourth-grade Pharmacist that you can be so arrogant.”

”Do you know how important the goods we are transporting are? Do you know we are meant to trade with the Shadow Tower?”

”Leave wisely now, or else—ha, if I assume you want to seize this batch of goods, then wait to be hunted down to death by the two Overlord Forces of Northern Mountain County.”

In Murong Zhi’s view, this threat should be enough to scare Yi Xiao away.

The hunt of the two great forces of Northern Mountain County, no one could withstand.

”Hahahaha.” Xiao Yi laughed heartily, ”Threatening me? I’ll have you know, the ones I want to kill are you, and the goods I want to seize are these.”

With that, Xiao Yi moved swiftly towards Murong Zhi.

His body was enveloped in Purple Flame, appearing immensely formidable.

”Not good.” Murong Zhi’s expression changed, realizing he was no match for Yi Xiao.

But as a reflex of a Martial Artist, he still threw out his best punch.

Originally, it was a casual attempt, but when his fist struck Yi Xiao, he immediately sensed something was wrong.

”Ugh...” Xiao Yi suddenly spat out blood, his face pale.

Those who could cultivate to the Mysterious Profundity Realm were not too foolish, and immediately reacted.

”It’s wrong, you don’t have the strength of the Mysterious Profundity Realm,” Murong Zhi was initially shocked, but then quickly saw through Xiao Yi’s real power.

”So what?” Xiao Yi sneered. ”Realizing it now is too late.”

Murong Zhi didn’t understand what Xiao Yi meant, but in the next instant, he understood, and returned to a state of panic.

Because just as he landed a punch on Xiao Yi, a Divine Sword emitting a dense purple radiance suddenly appeared in Xiao Yi’s hand.

The Divine Sword thrust out, and Murong Zhi had no time to pull back his fist.

With a ”swoosh,” it was as simple as piercing through a thin sheet of paper.

Murong Zhi’s heart was instantly penetrated.

”How... how is this possible...” Murong Zhi’s face was filled with disbelief.

”Die,” Xiao Yi coldly commanded.

The extreme cold of the Ice Phoenix Sword swiftly ravaged through Murong Zhi’s body, instantly destroying his internal organs.

Murong Zhi vividly felt the life draining from his body, hating that, had he realized Yi Xiao’s true strength earlier, he wouldn’t have died.

Within a few seconds, just like Murong Xiong, his eyes darkened, he lost consciousness, and then he died.

Xiao Yi watched Murong Zhi die, sneered in his heart, and then felt a fiery pain within his body.

Murong Zhi’s full-powered punch had severely injured his internal organs.

The difference between the Mysterious Profundity Realm and those below it is immense.

Initially, Zhong Wuyou was able to kill a Mysterious Profundity First Layer Martial Artist due to many factors, relying on a Mid-grade Spirit Artifact, Earth Rank Martial Techniques, and a series of trump cards.

One can imagine how strong the Mysterious Profundity Realm is.

Normally, Murong Zhi’s punch should have killed any warrior below the Mysterious Profundity Realm.

Fortunately, Xiao Yi’s Ghost Mask offset some of the power, and the True Qi Outer Layer offset another part.

Finally, relying on his robust body, he barely held on.

Even then, he was severely injured.

But, to kill two Mysterious Profundity Warriors of the Murong family, any cost was worth it.

Usually, even using the Purple Flame and going all out, he shouldn’t be able to kill a Mysterious Profundity Realm Warrior.

However, the special effect of concealing the aura with the Ghost Mask, along with his assassination techniques and hiding skills, meant that even though he was merely a short distance from Murong Zhi and Murong Xiong, they couldn’t detect him.

Finally, relying on the unparalleled sharpness of the Ice Phoenix Sword, he successfully assassinated Murong Xiong.

After resisting Murong Zhi’s strike, he also killed Murong Zhi.

Given the opportunity, once the Ice Phoenix Sword struck, he was unstoppable.

The Ice Phoenix Sword, being the most powerful purple Martial Soul in this world, and also the deepest shade of dark purple, nothing could withstand its sharpness.

If he hadn’t killed Murong Mo previously, it was because Xiao Yi was only in the Postnatal Realm at that time, without any chance.

But now, with the half-step Mysterious Profundity battle power and speed, finding an opportunity was easy.

”Huff...” Xiao Yi exhaled a breath of foul air.

Within the encirclement of the Purple Flame Sea, dozens of guards watched Xiao Yi with tense and panicked expressions.

The death of two Mysterious Profundity Realm Deacons made them dare not resist, not even daring to move slightly.

”Hmph,” Xiao Yi scoffed, waving his hand as the Purple Flame Sea began to contract.

”Please no, Lord Yi Xiao, spare us!”

Many guards began to kneel and beg for mercy.

”Hmph, why beg him? He killed us, and our family will avenge us.”

”Purple Flame Yi Xiao, you will die even more miserably than us.”

There were also guards who stubbornly cursed.

Xiao Yi said coldly, ”Whether I will die is unknown, but you now, are certainly going to die, just because you are people from the Northern Mountain Murong Family.”

As his voice fell.

Amplified by the Flame Gloves, the Purple Flame Sea completely devoured these dozens of guards along with the goods.

The existence of the Ice Phoenix Sword must not be revealed.

Of course, his movements were fast earlier, and the Ice Phoenix Sword was sheathed right after the thrust, which only a Mysterious Profundity Realm Warrior would have the vision to catch.

And Murong Xiong was killed before he could react.

Only Murong Zhi finally realized and saw the Ice Phoenix Sword, but he also died.

Regardless, all the remaining guards would also die, so there was no need to worry.

With all the guards killed and the goods destroyed, Xiao Yi absorbed the Martial Souls from the corpses, and then collected the Qiankun Bags from their bodies.

With a whoosh, he leapt away, quickly heading into the distance.

Just at that moment, a large troop rapidly approached from a distance.

Leading them, surprisingly, was Zhong Wuyou, followed by a group of black-clad, masked, and intimidating figures from Shadow Tower.

”It really is Yi Xiao, I recognized his Purple Flame Sea from afar,” said Zhong Wuyou upon arrival, looking at the corpses scattered everywhere and the rapidly departing Xiao Yi, he clenched his teeth.

”Master, let me capture him,” a black-clad elder said to Zhong Wuyou.

”Go what!” Zhong Wuyou shouted angrily, ”Don’t you understand Yi Xiao’s intention?”

”Hmph, that guy, precisely today, robbed the goods being traded with the Murong family, clearly as revenge.”

”Revenge for the ambush by the Shadow Tower assassins a few days ago, and also for yesterday’s targeting by Murong Yin.”

”If you chase him now, what does that imply? Isn’t it saying that this young master is afraid of him? That I need to rely on the power of Shadow Tower to deal with him?”

Zhong Wuyou stared coldly at the departing figure of Xiao Yi, and gritted his teeth, ”Yi Xiao, this young master will find you and personally defeat you.”
