Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 81: Chapter 80: Slaying the Poison Dragon

With Xiao Yi’s sharp eyes, he could naturally discern the Cultivation of the five Martial Artists in a glance.

Two were at the Innate Sixth Layer, and three at the Innate Fourth Layer.

He was too lazy to waste time, summoning a flame in his hand that was aimed as a full-powered strike.

However, Poison Dragon’s perception was also keen. He recognized the power of the flame in Xiao Yi’s hand at a glance and instantly made his move, shouting loudly, ”Retreat, that kid is at least of the Innate Eighth Layer strength.”

He wanted his subordinates to retreat, but it was ultimately too slow.

Xiao Yi had already struck with full force.

With that, the blazing flames engulfed the five men in an instant.

There was a loud explosion. The three Innate Fourth Layer Martial Artists were killed instantly, and the two Innate Sixth Layer Martial Artists were severely injured, vomiting blood as they fell to the ground.

”Damn it, I want you dead,” roared Poison Dragon uncontrollably.

Those five Innate Martial Artists were his most capable subordinates. To lose three of them in an instant, and the remaining two barely clinging to life, dealt a huge blow to the Poison Dragon Mountain Bandit Group.

But in the end, he had underestimated Xiao Yi.

In his eyes, Xiao Yi was just a youngster. Even if he had high talent, at best he would only have the strength of about Innate Third or Fourth Layer; his subordinates should have been able to subdue him.

He never expected Xiao Yi to be this powerful, and before he could react, his subordinates were already grievously injured.

At this moment, he transformed into a massive black python and attacked Xiao Yi with all his might.

Xiao Yi stepped aside with ease and said indifferently, ”So you are the Seven-striped Black Python, huh? A mere little snake dares to claim the title of Poison Dragon.”

The Seven-striped Black Python Martial Soul was a Yellow Rank Beast Martial Soul. It had a massive body and extraordinary strength; its body bore seven black stripes, each filled with deadly poison.

”Facing death and still so brazen,” said Poison Dragon coldly.

As soon as he finished speaking, black smoke began to rise around them. The smoke spread rapidly, enveloping an area of several hundred meters in moments.

”Black Striped Poison Fog,” Xiao Yi frowned, immediately on guard.

The black fog obscured the visibility, making it seem as if he was in the darkness of night.

Poison Dragon’s figure had already vanished, and Xiao Yi could not even see a few meters around him.

”What’s going on, an Innate Ninth Layer shouldn’t be able to spread the poison fog to this extent in such a short time,” Xiao Yi was slightly startled.

The Black Striped Poison Fog was toxic and corrosive, eating away at his True Qi Outer Layer with crackling sounds.

”Ha ha ha ha.”

At that moment, Poison Dragon’s laughter echoed through the pitch black.

”Boy, this is my territory. How could I not have a contingency plan?”

”I had already prepared my poison fog in jade vases, hidden all around. As soon as my True Qi is activated, these vases can be detonated instantly. In a few seconds, this place will become a land of deadly poison.”

”Ha ha ha ha, now you’ll see whether I’m just a little snake or truly a Poison Dragon.”

”My Black Striped Poison Fog, below the Innate Fifth Layer, can’t hold off for half an hour before the deadly poison afflicts the heart, killing them; below the Innate Eighth Layer, they’d suffer from dizziness and greatly reduced strength, ultimately just becoming spirits under my blade.”

Xiao Yi inwardly cursed at the cunning, but he was not afraid.

With his current strength, relying solely on his True Qi, he had the combat power of an Innate Sixth Layer. Using Rising Dragon, he was comparable to an Innate Eighth Layer.

Besides, with his Martial Techniques, defeating Poison Dragon was not a difficult task.

After all, if the Cultivation levels of two Martial Artists were close, the one with Martial Techniques would surely have the upper hand, and powerful Martial Techniques could even achieve instantaneous kills against those of the same Cultivation level.

As for the Flame Gloves, they were unnecessary against a mere ordinary Innate Ninth Layer.

With Poison Dragon’s strength, he could use him merely as a practice opponent.

At that moment, Poison Dragon’s voice, filled with immense fury, came again.

”Boy, originally killing you would have been easy. But, you’ve ruined my domain like this, killed several of my capable subordinates. If I don’t make your death miserable, I can’t quell the hatred in my heart.”

”Once your True Qi Outer Layer breaks and the poison fog envelops you, you will regret that I did not kill you with a single strike. Ha ha ha ha.”

Within the poison fog, Poison Dragon, located several tens of meters away from Xiao Yi, heartily laughed.

He wanted Xiao Yi to die in despair, only this could slightly soothe his raging fury.

However, the next second, a terrifying Fire Blade suddenly split out from behind him.

Simultaneously, a cold murmur echoed by his ear, sounding like a ghost whispering or deep abyssal ice, chilling to the core.

”Fire Devouring Hundred Blades.”

With a ”bang,” the Fire Blade directly exploded his back, tearing skin and flesh apart, and then he was blasted away more than ten meters.

”Puh.” When he steadied himself, he violently spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, enduring the pain in his back, disbelievingly looking towards where he had been standing.

”How... how is this possible...”

Unknowingly, Xiao Yi had already positioned himself where he was initially, and had just now severely injured him with that move.

”My Black Striped Poison Fog should have blinded you, plus the extent of this black fog’s coverage is so wide, how could you possibly have found me?”

Poison Dragon’s face was filled with disbelief.

”Do you not find you talk too much?” Xiao Yi said coldly.

”You tracked me by my voice?” Poison Dragon was startled and said, ”Impossible, I control this black fog. I can sense every move you make; it’s impossible for you to appear silently behind me and deal me a severe blow.”

Then, something seemed to dawn on Poison Dragon, and his expression changed dramatically as he exclaimed, ”Could it be that you are not only a Demon Hunter but also an expert assassin skilled in concealing himself?”

”No... no way.” Poison Dragon refuted his own thought, ”I’ve seen many assassins; no one could possess such superior concealment skills as you.”

In Mystic Breakthrough City, the families and merchants, aside from posting bounty tasks in the Demon Hunting Hall, also hired several assassins to try and assassinate Poison Dragon.

However, without exception, all these assassins perished at Poison Dragon’s hands.

Thus, Poison Dragon was very familiar with assassins and was not the least bit fearful of them.

But now, standing before him was none other than Xiao Yi, the King of Assassins who had once dominated on Earth.

In Xiao Yi’s eyes, the assassins of this world were utterly lacking in technique. Like Yang Fu previously, besides possessing Martial Artist Cultivation, his assassination skills and concealing abilities were simply disgraceful.

The gap between them was like heaven and earth.

The mere black fog not only failed to hinder him but provided an even better disguise ”outer layer,” allowing him to approach Poison Dragon more easily.

”There is nothing impossible,” Xiao Yi stated coldly, ”Poison Dragon, if that’s all you are capable of, then you can die now.”

”You underestimate me too much.” Poison Dragon erupted in rage.

”Boy, you’re forcing my hand. Wait until I peel your skin and flesh off piece by piece to see if you can still be so arrogant.”

As he finished speaking, Poison Dragon’s figure disappeared again.

Suddenly, a whistling sound of a sword rang out.

With a hiss, before Xiao Yi could react, his arm had already gained a fresh wound from which blood gushed out.

”Was it the wind?” Xiao Yi furrowed his brows, it seemed like the wind had cut him just now.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

In an instant, several more wounds appeared on Xiao Yi’s body.

”No, it was a sword, such a bizarre attack, light as the wind yet incredibly sharp,” Xiao Yi was shocked.

Xiao Yi thought secretly, not expecting Poison Dragon to have such an ace up his sleeve, it seemed he could no longer afford to hold back.

Then, another sword hum sounded.

But, it failed to injure Xiao Yi.

For at that moment, a cluster of Purple Flames appeared on Xiao Yi’s body.

The Purple Flame seemed capable of burning everything and even ignited the drifting black fog instantly.

In front of the Purple Flame, the dense Black Striped Poison Fog had absolutely no resistance.

A series of crackling sounds filled the air, and in a short moment, the black fog within several hundred meters was burned away.

Now, Poison Dragon’s figure was revealed, holding a sword, his face colored with horror.

”What on earth is this that can burn away my Black Striped Poison Fog?”

Xiao Yi did not answer, but cast a Fire Devouring Hundred Blades.

However, this Fire Devouring Hundred Blades was made from Purple Flames.

Poison Dragon, startled, hastily raised his sword to block.

Indeed worthy of the Innate Ninth Layer cultivation, a single sword stroke shattered the Fire Devouring Hundred Blades.

However, after the Fire Devouring Hundred Blades shattered, the Purple Flame did not vanish but splattered onto his sword and body.

Hiss...

The Purple Crystal Spirit Flame would not disappear before burning everything away.

In seconds, the entire sword along with the sword body and hilt turned to ashes, and then the Purple Flame vanished.

As for the Purple Flame on Poison Dragon’s body, it burned him intensely, impossible to blow out, pinch out, or shake off, peculiar to the extreme, and also immensely powerful.

Poison Dragon glanced at his sword that had turned to ash, then at the painful Purple Flame burning on his body, his face displayed a look of panic.

”Ha.” Poison Dragon erupted his True Qi, managing just barely to extinguish the Purple Flame.

Since the Purple Flame was condensed from Xiao Yi’s True Qi, it was naturally neutralized by Poison Dragon’s True Qi.

”Young man, who... who exactly are you...” Poison Dragon looked at Xiao Yi in horror, at this moment not feeling at all like he had the capability to win against Xiao Yi.

”Remember this well, I am the Demon Hunter, Yi Xiao. Don’t reach the Netherworld without knowing whose hand you died by.”

With that, Xiao Yi launched a dozen Fire Devouring Hundred Blades simultaneously, all formed from Purple Flame.

Poison Dragon fought desperately, waving his hand to block and stopped all the Fire Blades.

However, the shattered Purple Flame still splattered onto his body.

Dozens of Purple Flames from the shattered Fire Blades swiftly engulfed his figure.
