Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 51: Chapter 50: Bloodbath at the Xiao Family’s Mine

The Fourth Elder felt the True Qi surging within him and suddenly roared, ”Black Ink Mantra, indeed it is the Martial Soul Power of Murong Mo.”

”Black Ink Mantra?” Xiao Yi, upon hearing what the Fourth Elder said, looked at the inky black flower bud within him and instantly recalled that the Black Ink Mantra was mentioned in the Great Elder’s refining medicine experience.

The Black Ink Mantra was one of the Third-grade Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures.

Among Martial Souls, it was a Yellow Rank Peak Martial Soul, far more formidable than Xiao Ruohan’s Fire Cloud Python. The Martial Soul Power contained deadly poison, releasing toxic gas that enveloped the user when attacking.

Even Martial Artists of comparable strength could see their Cultivation decreased by the poisonous gases, leading to their defeat. And if exposed to the gas for too long, the Martial Artist could instantly perish on the spot, with their bones rotting away, resulting in a grim death.

This was a profoundly sinister Martial Soul, awakened by the Murong Family’s Great Elder Murong Mo years ago.

Now, with everyone from the Xiao Family’s Mine in grave danger, Xiao Yi was also anxious, but he had to steady his mind and think of a solution quickly.

”Against two Innate Martial Artists, even if I still had the fighting strength, I would not be able to take them on. The best course of action is to restore the Fourth and Sixth Elders’ combat strength so we can face them,” Xiao Yi thought to himself.

Xiao Yi subtly signaled the Fourth and Sixth Elders to stall for time.

The Fourth and Sixth Elders understood the message, and although they did not know why Xiao Yi was doing this, they followed the instruction.

At that moment, Murong Huai sneered, ”Xiao Family’s Fourth Elder, you are quite capable indeed. Yes, this is the Black Ink Mantra of our Murong Family’s Great Elder.”

”Hmph,” Murong Xie snorted coldly. ”This is but a portion of the Great Elder’s Martial Soul Power which he had condensed beforehand and given to us to temporarily suppress your True Qi for a few hours.”

”If the Great Elder himself were present, do you think you would still have the chance to speak? You would have already turned into a pool of blood.”

Murong Huai then said, ”No need to waste words with them, let’s kill them first.”

Just as the two were about to make their move, the Fourth Elder cried out, ”Old Fifth, are you just going to let them kill us?”

The term ’Old Fifth’ made the Fifth Elder’s body shake and his eyes revealed a complex expression.

The Fourth Elder said solemnly, ”Old Fifth, have you forgotten how we fought side by side in our youth? Forgotten the glorious days when we defended the Xiao Family and slaughtered our enemies? Are you really going to side with the Murong Family’s scoundrels against us?”

As an Innate Martial Artist with formidable strength, and having managed to sway the Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth Elders to his side, the Fifth Elder’s turncoat could significantly alleviate the crisis for the Xiao Family.

Seeing the internal struggle on the Fifth Elder’s face, Murong Huai immediately said, ”Fifth Elder, have you forgotten how this group at the Xiao Family sidelined you for Xiao Yi, made things difficult for you? Have you forgotten the injustice they did to your son?”

”Shut your mouth,” the Sixth Elder cursed. ”Old Fifth, over the years, you know very well how we’ve treated you in the Xiao Family. Those things you’ve done behind the scenes, do you think we elders are blind? Unaware? It’s just that we didn’t want to embarrass you. Don’t listen to the malicious words of the Murong Family.”

The Fifth Elder’s face convulsed even more.

Seeing this, the Fourth Elder pressed, ”Old Fifth, right now, all the outstanding youths of our Xiao Family are inside the mine. If we allow the Murong Family’s scheme to succeed, our youths are in peril. In the future, the Xiao Family will no longer rise. Do you want to see the Xiao Family fall into ruin?”

The Fifth Elder clenched his fists as if he was about to make a decision.

Murong Huai urgently shouted, ”Fifth Elder, don’t fall for their tricks.”

”As long as Xiao Yi dies, no other offspring in the Xiao Family can surpass your son in talent. Once the Fourth and Sixth Elders are gone, the Third Elder, without support, will not be your match. Your position as the Family Head is within reach.”

Murong Huai struck at the heart, hitting the Fifth Elder’s sore spot.

Hearing the four words ’position of Family Head,’

The struggle on the Fifth Elder’s face disappeared, and his fists relaxed.

He had coveted the position of Family Head in the Xiao Family for so many years and could not possibly give it up.

Murong Huai sneered and looked toward Xiao Ruohan, saying, ”Ruohan, you must be longing for Lady Jiao’er right now.”

”Of course,” Xiao Ruohan nodded happily.

Murong Huai continued, ”Once your father becomes the Patriarch of the Xiao Family, you will become the Young Master. And Lady Jiao’er, she is the treasured daughter of the current head of our Murong Family. By then, a match between you two of equal standing can directly lead to marriage.”

”This is indeed wonderful, I thank Elder Murong Huai,” said Xiao Ruohan, even bowing in gratitude.

Murong Huai nodded, then looked at the Fifth Elder, ”Fifth Elder, you too wish to see our two families form a strategic alliance and dominate Purple Cloud City, right?”

The Fifth Elder nodded and then looked towards the Fourth and Sixth Elders, ”Old Fourth, Old Sixth, be at peace. Once I become the head of the Xiao Family, it will be better than it is now, not fall into ruin.”

”You...” The Fourth Elder was suddenly furious, ”Old Fifth, you’re truly beyond redemption.”

Murong Huai roared, ”Fifth Elder, why waste words with them, kill them now.”

”Understood.” The Fifth Elder showed a murderous intent and immediately made his move.

”Not good,” Xiao Yi, who was observing from the side, was taken aback. ”This is bad, we’re just a bit short on time, I can only fight them now...”

As Xiao Yi was preparing for the worst in his mind...

Unexpectedly, the situation suddenly changed, leaving everyone unable to react.

Fifth Elder coldly looked at the Fourth and Sixth Elders, raising his knife with a sinister smile, ”Fourth Elder, Sixth Elder, I’ll make it quick for you, I...”

Before he could finish his sentence, a sharp knife suddenly stabbed into his back from behind and pierced through his chest.

With a splatter, Fifth Elder spat out a mouthful of blood, turned his head in disbelief, and looked at Murong Xie, asking, ”You... What are you doing?”

At this moment, Murong Huai also suddenly launched a sneak attack, striking with full force palm towards him.

Severely injured, Fifth Elder tried to dodge, immediately restrained by Murong Xie. Afterwards, Murong Huai’s full-powered palm directly shattered his heart meridians.

”You...” Fifth Elder, with blood in his mouth, looked on with a face full of disbelief.

Murong Huai said with a sinister laugh, ”Fifth Elder, had you not let your guard down against us, we truly would have had a hard time killing you.”

Murong Xie mocked even further, ”Fifth Elder, did you forget what I said just a moment ago? Not a single person from the Xiao Family in the mine today shall live. Naturally, that includes you.”

”You had planned to kill me all along...” Fifth Elder was furious to the extreme.

”Hahaha...” Murong Huai said, ”To dominate Purple Cloud City, having our Murong Family is enough. Your Xiao Family can only become corpses beneath our feet.”

”Father.” Xiao Ruohan shouted in alarm from the side, immediately trying to rescue, but was wounded severely by a palm strike from Murong Huai.

”Brat.” Murong Huai sneered, ”You really thought you were some kind of genius. All these years, you’ve been used over and over just because of your infatuation with Lady Jiao’er. Now you’re useless, so die.”

”You... you deceived me.” Xiao Ruohan was a mix of shock and rage.

Bang, bang. Murong Huai launched two palm strikes, one killing Xiao Ruohan and the other killing Fifth Elder.

It was clear to see that the eyes of their corpses were wide open, obviously dying with grievances.

Xiao Yi glanced at their bodies but felt no pity.

One had been blinded by power, long since lost his sense and compassion, even conspiring with outsiders to harm his own clan;

The other had fallen for the beauty trap, for the sake of a treacherous woman, willing to go to any lengths, even risking the safety of his clan, groveling to outsiders.

Such people, even in death, Xiao Yi would not feel sympathy for them.

However, their deaths had indeed bought Xiao Yi quite some time.

At this point, Murong Huai looked at the unshut eyes of Fifth Elder, proclaiming proudly, ”You fools, since you’re dead, I’m not afraid to tell you, our family has already taken action. Your entire Xiao Family will be extinguished.”

”What do you mean?” Fourth Elder shouted.

Murong Huai raised his head and kicked away the body of Fifth Elder, saying, ”Don’t you understand? Our goal was never just the Xiao Family’s Mine, but your entire Xiao Family.”

”The martial strength at the mine accounts for at least a third of your Xiao Family’s forces. Our Murong Family’s martial artists from our mine have already returned to the clan and will soon launch a powerful attack against your Xiao Family.”

”With this third of your power gone, your Xiao Family cannot fend off our Murong Family. Once I’ve finished killing everyone here, I will immediately return to Purple Cloud City. With your Xiao Family suddenly short three elders, your extinction is inevitable.”

After saying this, Murong Xie ridiculed, ”Of course, this is also thanks to these two fools from your Xiao Family. Our plan has gone so smoothly because of them.”

At this time, whoosh... whoosh... whoosh...

A series of sky-breaking sounds approached as eight figures suddenly appeared, standing behind Murong Huai and Murong Xie.

These eight were the deacons of the Murong Family. Among them, three were Elite Deacons, one of Postnatal Ninth Layer and two of the Postnatal Eighth Layer.

They had followed Murong Huai and Murong Xie, hidden outside all this time.

Murong Huai gestured grandly and commanded coldly, ”Massacre everyone at the Xiao Family’s Mine, spare no one.”

”Yes,” the eight responded in unison and immediately took action.

Just then, a tyrannical and cold shout suddenly burst forth, ”Fire Devouring Hundred Blades.”

A blade of fire shot out instantly, killing a deacon on the spot.

”Hm? Xiao Yi?” Murong Xie frowned.

Indeed, the one who acted was Xiao Yi.

”Hmph.” Xiao Yi snorted coldly as he condensed a Fire Sword in his hand, pointing at the Murong Family’s deacons, and scoffed, ”The Murong Family’s deacons are mine to deal with.”

”Murong Huai and Murong Xie are ours to handle,” Fourth and Sixth Elders suddenly shouted and moved in for the attack.

”You were suppressed by the Black Ink Mantra, weren’t you? How could you possibly make a move?” Murong Huai’s face changed drastically.

No one noticed that behind the Fourth and Sixth Elders, there were invisible whirlpools that had absorbed all the Black Ink Mantra Martial Soul Power in their bodies, restoring their strength.

Xiao Yi bellowed, ”Today, I shall see what skills you have to bloody wash the Xiao Family’s Mine.”

As soon as his words fell, the three of them took action simultaneously.
