Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 54: Chapter 53: The Peril of the Xiao Family

In the Xiao Mansion, every corner was engulfed in intense battle.

The clashing of weapons and the blasting sounds of martial techniques were incessant.

On one side were the Murong Family Members, fierce like wolves and tigers; on the other side were the Xiao Family Members, stubbornly resisting.

Yet the Xiao Family was clearly at a disadvantage, the situation looking grim.

”Damn it, where does the Murong Family get so many martial artists? Even if the reinforcements from the Meteorite Mountain Range had arrived, there shouldn’t be so many,” a middle-aged woman dragging a young girl with one hand and fighting enemies with the other, said angrily.

”Deacon Ru Yi, many of the enemies have unfamiliar faces, clearly not people from the Murong Family...” a Xiao Family martial artist said.

But before he could finish, he had already been surrounded and killed by several enemies.

”Damn it.” The middle-aged woman, Ru Yi, unleashed several slashes of Sword Qi, instantly killing those few enemies.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

Several enemies quickly approached, surrounding the middle-aged woman completely.

”Xiao Family’s first deacon, Xiao Ru Yi, you truly are formidable. Hmph, let’s kill you first,” several people attacked immediately.

The middle-aged woman, Xiao Ru Yi, who was brimming with True Qi, single-handedly held off several attackers without falling behind.

”Hmph, Murong Shang, as the Murong Family’s first deacon, you’ve regressed in your old age, needing to join hands to fight against me?” Xiao Ru Yi sneered coldly, repelling several people with a sword strike.

These individuals were all deacons of the Murong Family. One of them was the first deacon of the Murong Family, a Postnatal Ninth-layer Martial Artist, Murong Shang. The other three were also elite deacons, Postnatal Eighth Layer Martial Artists.

”Less nonsense.” Murong Shang sneered coldly, ”The victor is king, the loser the enemy; your Xiao Family is destined to be defeated today. Purple Cloud City will no longer have the Xiao Family. Hehe, you’re even carrying a little girl now, I want to see how you can survive in our hands.”

Xiao Ru Yi was extraordinarily strong, far surpassing other Postnatal Ninth Layer Martial Artists.

Unfortunately, she was also taking care of a young girl, which was holding her back, and her combat efficiency was gradually decreasing.

Twice the sound of tearing, distracted by the situation, she suffered two sword wounds on her arm, her sleeve soaked red with blood.

”Deacon Ru Yi, please don’t worry about me, focus on fighting the enemies,” the young girl said anxiously.

The young girl was pure and lovely, exquisitely beautiful – it was Yiyi.

”It’s not possible, I promised that young lad to take good care of you, stay close to me,” Xiao Ru Yi quickly said, waving her sword again to meet the attacks.

Inside the Xiao Mansion, everywhere was a battlefield.

But mostly, Xiao Family martial artists were being surrounded by several enemies, and casualties had gradually begun to occur, one Xiao Family martial artist after another falling, slain by the chaotic swords.

On Xiao Ru Yi’s side, another sword hit her arm, but she still persevered desperately, ”Damn it, the Great Elder is tied down, Second Elder needs to roam the battlefield, and the other elders are engaged with opponents and can’t provide support. If this continues, the Xiao Family will be in peril.”

On another side, several Xiao Family members died in battle.

Xiao Ru Yi’s body was marked with several more wounds, and her injuries grew more severe.

”Deacon Ru Yi, don’t worry about me,” Yiyi broke free from Xiao Ru Yi’s grip, ready to fight the enemies herself.

”Yiyi, don’t do anything foolish,” Xiao Ru Yi urgently exclaimed.

”Xiao Ru Yi, better take care of yourself,” Murong Shang restrained her, then sneered at a deacon behind him, ”Go and slaughter that little girl.”

”Yes,” the deacon grinned viciously, leaping before Yiyi, ”Die.”

Yiyi, terrified, closed her eyes. She didn’t want to burden Xiao Ru Yi and preferred death.

But at this crucial moment, oddly enough, she murmured in her heart, ”Young Master, if Yiyi dies, will you be sad? I wonder if you can take care of yourself after...”

Just then, a warm and powerful hand rested on her delicate head, affectionately caressing.

”What do you think?”

Hearing that familiar voice, Yiyi immediately opened her eyes, knowing it was Young Master Xiao Yi’s voice. Only his voice could excite her this much.

”Young Master, have you returned?” Yiyi asked, thrilled.

”Mm.” Xiao Yi nodded.

At that moment, Yiyi glanced in front of her, and the Murong Family’s elite deacon, who was just about to kill her, had already fallen to the ground, his neck marked with a conspicuous bloodstain.

Xiao Yi embraced Yiyi and then leaped next to Xiao Ru Yi.

”Deacon Ru Yi, protect Yiyi for me, leave the rest to me,” Xiao Yi said, pushing Yiyi towards Xiao Ru Yi before facing Murong Shang and the others alone.

Xiao Ru Yi, seeing a figure suddenly approaching, was initially startled, but upon catching it was Yiyi, she quickly caught her.

Then seeing Xiao Yi’s arrival, she became extremely anxious, ”Xiao Yi, why have you come back?”

”Ah, damn it, just a Postnatal First Layer lad, why so impulsive. Xiao Yi, come back quickly, the Xiao Family is in dire straits, you must not lose...”

However, before she could finish,

Xiao Yi’s Fire Sword slashed through, a streak of fiery glint passing by, and Murong Shang and others fell to the ground, blood streaming from their necks.

”Shh.” Xiao Ru Yi sucked in a breath of cold air, ”Murong Shang, alongside two Postnatal Eighth Layer martial artists, just like that, dead? How has this lad become so strong?”

After defeating these three, Xiao Yi looked around at the worsening situation, his brows furrowed, ”What’s going on, why does the Murong Family have so many martial artists?”

Xiao Ru Yi hurried over, saying, ”The Murong Family has somehow found external help; they vastly outnumber us, the Xiao Family.”

Xiao Yi asked urgently, ”What about the Great Elder and the Second Elder? With those two here, no amount of Murong Family Martial Artists should matter.”

Xiao Ruyi, with a look of urgency on her face, said, ”The situation is critical right now, I don’t know how to explain this to you, but the Great Elder has been restrained, and things are looking very grim.”

”The Second Elder is moving around. If it weren’t for his help, given that our Xiao Family Martial Artists are far fewer than the Murong Family’s, we would have probably all been killed by now.”

Xiao Yi glanced over and indeed, there was a figure constantly leaping around the battlefield, swiftly killing enemies and relieving the Xiao Family Martial Artists of much pressure.

That figure was the Second Elder.

Xiao Yi frowned and quickly said, ”Protect Yiyi, I’m going to kill the enemies.”

Xiao Ruyi said, ”Let me go instead, you protect Yiyi, after all, my strength is stronger.”

Before she could finish her sentence, she found that Xiao Yi had already disappeared from the spot.

”Such speed!” Xiao Ruyi was startled, her eyes, even as the top steward of the Xiao Family, couldn’t keep up with Xiao Yi’s speed.

The vast Xiao Family had turned into a bloody battlefield.

And on this battlefield, a fiery red figure suddenly appeared.

Everywhere the fiery red figure passed, an enemy would inevitably fall to the ground, blood flowing freely.

The fiery red figure, like a burning gale, left ashes of the enemies in its wake.

A Xiao Family’s Steward was barely holding on, almost unable to withstand it. However, when a fiery red figure flashed by, he was amazed to find that his opponent had already died.

”So strong... it’s Xiao Yi, no, it’s the Young Master.” The steward was immediately overjoyed.

”Go help the others,” Xiao Yi commanded, before killing more enemies.

”Yes,” the steward responded.

With Xiao Yi’s involvement, the pressure on the Xiao Family members visibly decreased. The enemies fell one by one, allowing the Xiao Family’s Stewards to free up and assist other clan members.

This was a relationship of taking turns dominating; the more enemies Xiao Yi killed, the more clan members could go help others.

Shortly after, dozens of enemies died under Xiao Yi’s sword.

The Second Elder also noticed Xiao Yi’s arrival, immediately overjoyed, he killed several enemies with a single palm strike and then came to Xiao Yi’s side, saying, ”Boy, can you withstand these enemies?”

”Rest assured,” Xiao Yi confidently said, ”Now, below Innate level, I am invincible, killing Postnatal Nine-Layered Martial Artists is like slaughtering chickens.”

”Killing Postnatal Nine-Layered like slaughtering chickens? Good, very good,” the Second Elder laughed loudly and said, ”Now all the elders are fighting with the Murong Family’s elders.”

”The Great Elder is even more restrained. I need to go help him immediately.”

Xiao Yi nodded and said, ”Okay, leave this place to me.”

The Second Elder vanished in an instant, heading deep into the Xiao Mansion, where the battlefield of Innate Martial Artists lay.

Xiao Yi, on this side, once again started killing enemies frenziedly.

Before him, there was simply no equal opponent. Whether they were Mortal Realm Warriors or powerful Postnatal Martial Artists, encountering him meant being killed by a single sword strike.

The Murong Family’s stewards had noticed Xiao Yi and took him seriously, instantly banding together, seven or eight of them.

”Green Wave Layered Palm.”

Eight people released their Martial Techniques together, their might soaring to the heavens.

”Be careful, Young Master,” a Xiao Family steward exclaimed in alarm.

Xiao Yi, not intimidated at all, scoffed coldly, ”Bring it on, Mountain Shattering Slash.”

On the Fire Sword, a mountain-crushing force emerged, splitting the eight towering waves of power with one strike. Then, the remnant force of the Fire Sword instantly killed those eight people.

Eight Postnatal Martial Artists were instantly slain before Xiao Yi.

Now, with his Postnatal Eighth Layer Cultivation, combined with the boost from Rising Dragon and equipped with the Mid-level Xuan Rank Martial Technique Mountain Shattering Slash, killing them was indeed as easy as slaughtering chickens.

”Young Master is mighty,” the clan members were stirred up with a strong will to fight.

Half an hour later, the situation of the battle completely turned around, and it was instead the Xiao Family that gained the upper hand.

The vast Xiao Family, corpses everywhere, some were Xiao Family Martial Artists’, and some were the enemies’.

The pungent smell of blood permeated the entire air.

”Those who offend the Xiao Family will not be spared, kill them all,” Xiao Yi roared, his voice spreading across the entire Xiao Family.

”Strictly following the Young Master’s command, kill!” The Xiao Family members fought back fiercely, ready to face death.

Two hours later, Xiao Yi, panting heavily, stopped his relentless killing. He had roamed across the entire field, and all the Murung Family stewards died at his hands.

Blood dyed his clothes red, yet he still stood like a sharp and unstoppable sword, his killing intent overwhelming.

In the eyes of the Murong Family Members, Xiao Yi had indeed become a Killing God, a Demon causing their demise, a nightmare they couldn’t resist.

Now, among the Postnatal Martial Artists on the field, only Xiao Family’s stewards were left. On the Murong Family’s side, the strongest remaining was a Ninth Layer Mortal Realm Warrior.

Although the Murong Family had more Martial Artists, their defeat was just a matter of time. With no Postnatal Martial Artists, the Xiao Family’s stewards were virtually annihilating them one by one.

Xiao Yi approached a steward and said, ”I’ll leave this place to you guys, try to minimize the clan members’ casualties, kill the enemies quickly, I’m going to help the elders.”

”Yes,” the steward respectfully responded. Although he was a steward, his gaze towards Xiao Yi was filled with unwavering faith and respect.

Xiao Yi walked towards the depths of the Xiao Mansion, ”Uncle Xiao Chong, please be alright.”
