Chapter 52: Chapter 51: The Death of Murong Huai

The Fourth and Sixth Elders made their move in an instant, catching Murong Huai and Murong Xie off guard and sending both reeling out of the Council Hall.

Many of the stewards inside the hall still had not recovered their full strength, and the combat of Innate Martial Artists could easily affect and hurt them. Naturally, the two Elders wouldn’t allow the fight to continue inside the hall.

As for Xiao Yi, just moments ago, his ”Fire Devouring Hundred Blades” had instantly killed a Murong Family’s Steward, stunning the other seven.

But three of the Murong Family’s Elite Deacons reacted first from their shock.

One of the Postnatal Eighth Layer Deacons struck with a slash.

Xiao Yi easily parried it and repelled him with a counter-palm.

”How strong, this kid is Postnatal Eighth Layer,” remarked a Murong Family’s Steward, surprised.

”Postnatal Eighth Layer? Wasn’t this kid just at the First or Second Layer half a month ago?”

”It must be the effect of the Demon Blood Flame Heart Fruit, damn it, such a rare Heavenly Material should have been Young Master Qianjun’s.”

”Kill this kid,” the leading Postnatal Ninth Layer Deacon shouted.

Seven men attacked simultaneously, surrounding Xiao Yi.

”Heh,” Xiao Yi chuckled coldly, ”The precious Heavenly Materials should belong to Murong Qianjun? Your Murong Family truly has no shame.”

The battle erupted once more. Xiao Yi held his own against the seven, showing only slight strain.

”What the heck is with this kid? I have the Cultivation of Postnatal Ninth Layer, plus six others helping, and we still can’t suppress him?” the leading steward questioned, face showing confusion.

”Fire Devouring Hundred Blades,” Xiao Yi swung his Fire Sword while executing the Martial Technique.

”Be careful,” one of the Postnatal Eighth Layer Elite Deacons called out, recalling how Xiao Yi had previously killed a steward in an instant and hastily defended against this Fire Blade.

But his defense only resulted in him spitting blood and stumbling back many steps before he could stabilize.

Being of the same Postnatal Eighth Layer, Xiao Yi utterly dominated the Deacon, all because his Xuan Rank Martial Technique was significantly stronger.

”Hmph, kid, don’t think you’re the only one with Xuan Rank Martial Techniques,” the three Elite Deacons said icily as they simultaneously released their Martial Techniques, ”Green Wave Layered Palm.”

The three Elite Deacons showcased a stronger Green Wave Layered Palm than even Young Master Qianjun, wave after wave attacking Xiao Yi with even greater ferocity and power.

”Mountain Shattering Slash,” Xiao Yi held his Fire Sword tightly and slashed fiercely, the air crackling like a mountain splitting and rocks shattering, his sword turning the waves into mere splashes of water.

Mountain Shattering Slash was a Mid-level Xuan Rank Martial Technique, much more powerful than the Low-level Xuan Rank Martial Technique Green Wave Layered Palm.

”Thud Thud Thud...” Despite the layers of waves being shattered, Xiao Yi was forced back three steps.

The three Elite Deacons grew excited, ”With the three of us together, plus our Xuan Rank Martial Techniques, we can definitely suppress this kid. Other stewards, seize the opportunity to strike and we must kill Xiao Yi.”

Seeing they had the upper hand in the battle, their faces were filled with joy.

However, Xiao Yi cryptically smiled and muttered, ”So this is my strength level, then. Well, it’s time to end this fight.”

”What?” Hearing this remark, the trio were shocked and furious, ”Damn it, were you just using us for practice?”

”Hmph, an arrogant kid just bluffing, let’s go.” The seven readied themselves for a joint attack, prepared to employ their Martial Techniques.

Xiao Yi stood still, not concerned at all by the attacks from the seven, and thought, ”Time is pressing; I don’t know how my family is doing. I need to finish this battle quickly.”

”Rising Dragon.” Xiao Yi gave a low shout, and a terrifying aura burst forth from him.

”Such a strong aura, what’s with this kid? How can his aura be so much stronger than mine?” the Murong Family’s Steward’s face changed.

In the next second, Xiao Yi disappeared from where he stood.

When he reappeared, it was behind an Elite Deacon, his Fire Sword tracing a beautiful arc.

”Sss,” suddenly, a line of blood appeared on the Deacon’s neck. The next second, blood sprayed from his throat like water, and soon after, he helplessly fell to the ground, dead.

Xiao Yi didn’t pay any attention to the corpse, disappearing again.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

The Murong Family’s Stewards could only see a fiery silhouette continuously blinking in and out, unable to keep up with Xiao Yi’s speed.

But with every appearance Xiao Yi made, one of the stewards would gain a line of fire on his neck.

Seven disappearances and appearances, seven lines of blood.

When Xiao Yi stopped moving swiftly and steadied his stance, the seven Murong Family’s Stewards thudded to the ground.

The seven columns of blood that sprayed out stained the floor of the Council Hall red.

Seven Postnatal Martial Artists, one of them a Postnatal Ninth Layer and two Postnatal Eighth Layers, could not last even a few seconds against Xiao Yi, being entirely annihilated.

”So...so strong,” the Xiao Family’s stewards, who were still suppressed by Black Ink Mantra, stared dumbfounded, their faces showing horror.

Xiao Yi turned and swiftly made his way toward the entrance of the council hall.

Outside, loud booming noises echoed. The fierce battle between the Fourth and Sixth Elders and Murong Huai along with Murong Xie wreaked havoc in the mines, turning trees and buildings into ruins, leaving the area in complete disarray.

The battle of Innate Martial Artists truly was extraordinary.

”Hmm? That little waste,” Murong Huai spotted Xiao Yi standing at the entrance of the council hall.

”How could he possibly have survived to walk out?” Murong Xie remarked with surprise and skepticism.

Despite the intense fight among the four great Innate Martial Artists, none could gain the upper hand, and the battle remained in a deadlock.

Fourth Elder pushed Murong Huai away with a palm and asked, ”Xiao Yi, how are the Murong Family’s scraps?”

Xiao Yi declared loudly, ”I have killed them all.”

”Good, very good,” laughed the Fourth and Sixth Elders heartily, intensifying their attacks on Murong Huai and Murong Xie.

”Bastard,” Murong Xie yelled angrily, ”Xiao Yi, you dare to kill our Murong Family’s steward, this enmity is irreconcilable. I will take your little life.”

It was evident to Murong Huai and Murong Xie that since Xiao Yi had walked out of the council hall unharmed, it meant their steward had already turned into eight corpses.

”Kill me? Let’s see if you have the ability,” Xiao Yi sneered, wielding his Fire Sword and leaping forward to attack Murong Huai and Murong Xie.

”Mountain Shattering Slash,” Xiao Yi thundered.

Murong Huai didn’t even spare Xiao Yi a glance, only entangled with the Fourth Elder. Sensing Xiao Yi’s presence slightly, he thought disdainfully, ”Just a mere Postnatal Eighth Layer, I could crush him with one finger.”

With that disdain in his heart, Murong Huai’s body suddenly erupted with a powerful aura.

As Xiao Yi’s Fire Sword chopped down, it was forcefully halted by this aura, unable to advance further.

The gap between Innate and Postnatal was immense; just one at the Innate First Layer could easily obliterate several at the Postnatal Ninth Layer, the difference in strength being enormous.

And Murong Huai, as a Sixth Layer Martial Artist, could severely injure even a Postnatal Ninth Layer with just his aura, without needing to strike.

”You’re useless, boy. Go die,” Murong Huai scoffed coldly.

”Xiao Yi, pull back, your attack cannot even break his aura,” Fourth Elder shouted.

”Oh, really?” Xiao Yi didn’t retreat but instead sneered, silently invoking, ”Rising Dragon.”

He deliberately hadn’t used Rising Dragon before closing in on Murong Huai, making him drop his guard.

At that moment, Murong Huai sensed Xiao Yi’s surging aura, his expression changing suddenly, ”Innate First Layer? How is this possible? This boy was clearly only at the Postnatal Eighth Layer of cultivation.”

”Mountain Shattering Slash, break!” Xiao Yi roared, striking heavily with his Fire Sword.

”Uh oh,” Murong Huai realized it too late.

The Fire Sword, carrying the momentum of mountain-splitting force, shattered his aura and struck him, causing a ghastly wound.

”Puh,” Murong Huai spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.

Seeing this, Fourth Elder immediately seized the opportunity to attack.

What was initially a stalemate turned one-sided in an instant.

Murong Huai, the ghastly wound bleeding profusely, was clearly gravely injured and no match for the Fourth Elder.

Murong Xie was in a panic, hurrying to assist.

Sixth Elder sneered, ”Your opponent is me.”

Blocked by the Sixth Elder, Murong Xie was unable to lend any aid.

On the other side, Murong Huai hardly had any strength left to retaliate. Fourth Elder struck palm after palm, Murong Huai spitting out blood continuously until he finally succumbed to his injuries and died at the hands of Fourth Elder.

With his dying breath, Murong Huai pointed tremblingly at Xiao Yi, ”Middle Xuan Rank Martial Technique, the technique you just used was a Middle Xuan Rank Martial Technique... The strongest technique in Purple Cloud City is only a Low-level Xuan Rank, how... could you possibly possess...”

Before he could finish his sentence, he collapsed powerlessly, his eyes wide open, evidently dying with a grievance.

If not for his momentary carelessness, getting severely injured by Xiao Yi’s sword, he wouldn’t have been killed by Fourth Elder.

Seeing Murong Huai dead, Murong Xie was utterly alarmed, knowing he wasn’t a match for the Fourth and Sixth Elders, he immediately fled.

The Fourth and Sixth Elders did not pursue.

”Are we not chasing him?” Xiao Yi inquired.

Fourth Elder shook his head and said, ”We Innate Realm Martial Artists are very strong. Unless there’s a significant discrepancy in strength, if one side is determined to flee, the other can’t kill them.”

”It’s also because of this reason that Murong Huai wasn’t on his guard. He thought that if he couldn’t beat us, he could still escape. Who knew your lad would be so fierce, injuring him with a single sword strike, and he didn’t even have the chance to run before I killed him.”

Xiao Yi nodded and said, ”It was Murong Huai’s own carelessness. He foolishly tried to block my sword with merely his aura and body. Otherwise, I couldn’t have inflicted such a heavy injury on him.”
