Chapter 57: Chapter 56: Pursuit of the Mysterious Profundity Realm Warrior

Half a day later, Xiao Yi and the elders had already left Purple Cloud City, and they were a hundred miles away.

As for the other members of their clan, they split into various teams and left in different directions in batches. Even if the Murong Family pursued them, they couldn’t capture them all at once.

The various teams would regroup and gather once they had settled down; there was no need to worry about losing track of each other.

Meanwhile, by coincidence, Xiao Yi’s group continued hurrying along their path only to suddenly run into Fourth Elder and his party, who were also fleeing.

They had set out from the mines, detoured along the Meteorite Mountain Range, and unexpectedly ended up running into each other.

Following Fourth and Sixth Elders were dozens of their disciples, with the most talented being at the forefront; the other people from the mines had also split up and fled in different directions.

”Young Master, you’re unharmed, that’s wonderful,” Xiao Zhuang and Xiao Zimu exclaimed excitedly upon seeing Xiao Yi.

Fourth and Sixth Elders initially showed sadness but gradually began to smile upon meeting up with the other elders.

”Don’t get too excited just yet, let’s wait until we’re really safe before celebrating,” Xiao Yi said with a slight smile.

The group continued to hasten their way.

Xiao Yi, carrying Yiyi on his back, casually asked, ”Great Elder, do we have a destination in mind for our evacuation?”

The Great Elder shook his head, ”No, it’s better this way; it’ll be much harder for the Murong Family to track us.”

Second Elder added, ”Once we settle down, we will immediately retrieve the other clan members. After recuperating, one day, we will return to Purple Cloud City.”

A few hours later, they were very far from Purple Cloud City.

At that moment, Yiyi softly spoke from Xiao Yi’s back, ”Young master, you’re sweating; am I too heavy? Maybe I should run on my own.”

As she spoke, Yiyi wiped the sweat from Xiao Yi’s forehead.

Xiao Yi shook his head, smiling, ”With your tiny frame, I could carry you for days on end without tiring. Just stay put.”

The Great Elder glanced at the other disciples and, noticing Xiao Zhuang and others looked exhausted, stopped and suggested, ”We’re already far from Purple Cloud City. It’s unlikely that the Murong Family can catch up now. Let’s take a short break before continuing.”

After all, the other disciples had weaker cultivation; maintaining a high speed for so long was indeed exhausting.

Hearing this, everyone halted to rest.

However, just as they were about to resume their journey...

Suddenly, a fierce sky-breaking noise approached from the distance.

Xiao Yi looked into the distance, spotting a blurry figure in the sky.

The figure was advancing rapidly, becoming clearer and closer every second.

Most importantly, an oppressive aura unexpectedly enveloped everyone, making them extremely uncomfortable.

”Sky-controlling Flight, that’s a Mysterious Profundity Realm Warrior,” stood up the Great Elder, suddenly shouting in horror, ”It’s not good, it’s Murong Mo!”

His words had just ceased when the next second, the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy exploded violently.

Within a few hundred meters’ radius, the spiritual energy suddenly converged like it was controlled by something, pressing heavily on Xiao Yi and others.

In an instant, everyone was immobilized, including the Great Elder and the Second Elder.

It was as if an invisible cage had trapped everyone.

”Spiritual Energy Cage, we’re in trouble; Murong Mo is indeed a Mysterious Profundity Realm Warrior,” the Great Elder exclaimed in fear.

Whoosh—a figure descended from the sky.

The figure was an old man with white hair and beard, dressed in a green robe. His chilling eyes, ghost-like, merely glanced at everyone causing an involuntary shiver.

”Xiao Lihuo, long time no see. Why the hurry to leave?” the old man asked with a sinister smile plastered across his face.

”Murong Mo,” the Great Elder gritted his teeth looking at the old man before him.

Clearly, the old man was none other than the Great Elder of Murong Family, Murong Mo, also a Mysterious Profundity Realm Warrior.

”Hahaha.” Murong Mo burst into laughter, ”Xiao Lihuo, did you think that by fleeing from Purple Cloud City, I couldn’t find you?”

”The capabilities of Mysterious Profundity Realm are unfathomable, and control over spiritual energy is extraordinary. Your aura remains in the spiritual energy along the path you fled through; by controlling the spiritual energy, I can grasp your every move.”

”And with my ability to control the sky, how can you possibly escape from the palm of my hand? Hahaha.”

Murong Mo’s laughter was filled with sinister overtones and towering arrogance.

”Damn it,” the Great Elder said angrily, his face full of urgency; he wasn’t afraid to die, but he feared that the clan members couldn’t get away.

”Xiao Lihuo, you are very anxious and very afraid,” Murong Mo spoke with triumph, ”From the moment I returned to Purple Cloud City, it was destined that Xiao Family would be obliterated.”

”Murong Mo, if you want me, then come at me, but let my people go,” the Great Elder roared.

”Oh, how the once mighty Great Elder Xiao Lihuo of the Xiao Family is begging me now?” Murong Mo sneered.

Murong Mo continued, ”Remember many years ago, both of us were the geniuses of Purple Cloud City. However, your talent always outshone mine, and your fame as a refining genius was unbearable for me.”

”Now look at you, merely a lowly ant, ready to be squashed by me at any moment.”

Murong Mo had killing intent in his expression by the time he finished speaking.

Within the Spiritual Energy Cage, Xiao Yi tried to struggle but to no avail.

The surrounding hundreds of meters were condensed with Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy, overwhelmingly powerful.

This was the strength of a Mysterious Profundity Realm Warrior, who controlled the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy wherever he went. He didn’t even need to make a move—this ability alone could suffocate Xiao Yi and the others to death.

”Murong Mo, consider this me begging you. You can kill me, but please let my people go,” the Great Elder pleaded, abandoning his dignity.

”Haha, Xiao Lihuo, you too have come to ask me for something,” Murong Mo became even more proud.

”Don’t be hasty,” Murong Mo said coldly, ”Today you killed so many of our people. I want tenfold in return. Murong Shan and the others will soon catch up, and then, they will take good care of you.”

”I am a mighty Mysterious Profundity Realm Warrior. Killing you lot, mere ants, would only dirty my hands.”

”Murong Mo, it was your Murong Family who initiated the battle, there is no need to speak so righteously,” the Second Elder cursed angrily.

”I don’t care,” Murong Mo said brutally, ”either way, I want you all dead.”

After saying that, Murong Mo flew into the air, arrived in front of Xiao Yi, and said coldly, ”So you are the genius of the Xiao Family? It’s because of you that so many of our plans were ruined, forcing me to deal with this personally.”

Xiao Yi, undaunted, looked at him coldly.

”What sharp eyes, what firm resolve, not fearing my direct gaze,” Murong Mo was slightly surprised, then his smile grew colder, ”Heh heh, dealing with a genius like you is more interesting.”

”Later, I’ll cut your flesh slice by slice, slowly cripple you, and listen to your screams of agony—it will be delightful,” Murong Mo licked his lips.

”You monster, you won’t hurt our Young Master,” Yiyi said furiously.

”Oh, there’s even a young girl, quite a beauty, tsk tsk, it’s been long since I’ve seen such beauty,” lust filled Murong Mo’s eyes.

”Old monster, you’re courting death,” Xiao Yi’s face filled with killing intent.

A surge of killing intent came crashing out, shocking Murong Mo.

”What terrifying killing intent,” Murong Mo furrowed his brows, then his intent to kill Xiao Yi grew stronger, ”A genius like you, if allowed to grow, would definitely become a great power one day.”

”Too bad, genius, today you will fall, and by my hands,” Murong Mo raised his hand, ready to strike down Xiao Yi.

Just then, suddenly, a fierce attack appeared. A dry but powerful hand struck towards Murong Mo.

Murong Mo, caught off guard, spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva and was sent flying with a strike.

The attacker was none other than the Great Elder.

Then, with a wave of both hands, the Spiritual Energy Cage that held everyone vanished.

The Great Elder grabbed Xiao Yi by the collar, throwing him with all his might.

”Xiao Yi, run!” the Great Elder shouted.

At that moment, Murong Mo, having steadied himself and wiping the blood from his mouth, said coldly, ”Xiao Lihuo, how could you possibly break my Spiritual Energy Cage?”

”Hmm? Wait.” Murong Mo realized, chuckled coldly, ”Xiao Lihuo, well done hiding your strength. I hadn’t expected you to be a Half-step Cave Profound, no wonder three Innate Ninth Layers couldn’t breach your Xiao Family.”

Xiao Yi, already thrown far, heard the Great Elder shout from afar, ”Xiao Yi, don’t look back, leave quickly. The Xiao Family’s future lies with you, don’t let us die in vain.”

”You think you can escape,” Murong Mo shouted coldly, wanting to chase after Xiao Yi.

”You think you can chase,” the Third Elder, Fourth Elder, and the Eighth, Ninth, and Tenth Elders instantly joined forces, intending to block Murong Mo.

Xiao Zhuang, Xiao Zimu, and other descendants didn’t run; they lined up, intending to use their bodies to stop Murong Mo.

”Get out of my way,” Murong Mo waved his hand violently, and the elders were sent flying without any resistance.

”Xiao Yi, run fast.”

”The future of the Xiao Family lies with you.”

”Don’t let us die in vain.”

”Don’t let us die in vain....”

Everyone roared, getting back up to block Murong Mo again.

The Great Elder waved a great hand, ”Spiritual Energy Cage.”

The previously confining Spiritual Energy within hundreds of meters now instead condensed and trapped Murong Mo, blocking his pursuit.

In the distance, Xiao Yi clenched his teeth, a tear glimmering in the corner of his eye. For the first time in his current and previous lives, he cried for someone else.

Then, without hesitation, he turned and left, speed surging to the maximum.

But he wasn’t fleeing from fear; his intention was...

”Murong Mo, old freak, if you can, come chase me....”

”If you can’t kill me today, one day, I’ll leave none of your Murong Family alive, I’ll turn them into rivers of blood....”

Xiao Yi was already far away, but those words filled with threatening intent and killing desire, clearly reached Murong Mo’s ears.

”You brat, think you can run away,” Murong Mo gritted his teeth.
