Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 485: Chapter 528: Father Ye’s Transformation

Mu Beiting looked at Ye Anxin, saying earnestly, ”I like seeing you happy!”

The more serious Mu Beiting sounded, the happier Ye Anxin felt, ”Uncle, the day after tomorrow is the weekend, are you busy? If not, how about we take Xiao Bai out to play? It’s not good for him to be cooped up at home all the time!”

”You decide!” Mu Beiting neither agreed nor refused, simply leaving everything for Ye Anxin to arrange.

Ye Anxin nodded, smiling brightly, ”Great! I’ll figure out where to take him then!”

Mu Beiting solemnly reminded her, ”You are pregnant now, you can’t travel far!”

”Hmm! I know! Actually, I think it’s fine, we always drive whenever we go out, as long as we don’t go hiking, it shouldn’t be a big problem!” Ye Anxin placed Mu Beiting’s hand on her still-flat belly! Ever since she became pregnant, aside from having a radically changed sense of taste, she basically had no other reactions, just as if she weren’t pregnant at all!

Mu Beiting pursed his lips, still not at ease, ”Anyway, be careful with everything!”

Ye Anxin nodded sweetly, ”Hmm! I know! Come on! Let’s go back to our room, take a bath, and sleep! Tomorrow I want to visit my mom!”

”Hmm!” Mu Beiting nodded, then took Ye Anxin’s hand and went back to the room with her to bathe and rest!

......

The next day, after Ye Anxin had breakfast, Mu Beiting went to work, Xiao Bai attended class, and Ye Anxin took a car back to her parents’ house!

Five years ago, whenever she went out, no matter where, there would be a large group of bodyguards protecting her, and besides being by Uncle’s side, she would just stay at home without going out! But now it’s completely different, she goes out alone whenever she wants, Uncle no longer restricts her freedom, nor does he send a large group of people to follow her!

She knew that the reason Uncle didn’t send people to her side was because in these past five years, Uncle had resolved all potential threats for her, so now she’s very safe, with no enemies, and Uncle feels assured! The only thing he’s not assured about is the child in her belly.

After Ye Anxin returned to her parents’ house, both Father Ye and Mother Ye were at home, with Father Ye following behind Mother Ye, earnestly helping her tidy up the house.

However, Father Ye had been idle for so many years, how could he possibly tidy up? Not only did he not help, but he also messed up what Mother Ye had organized, making her both exasperated and amused, saying, ”Alright, alright, I don’t need your help, just do what you need to do! Everything’s fine, yet you managed to make a mess of it all!”

Scolded by Mother Ye, Father Ye wasn’t angry at all; instead, he smiled happily, ”Aren’t I just worried about you getting tired? Slowly learn to tidy up! When you can’t do it anymore, I can help!”

Mother Ye rolled her eyes at him, pouting, ”Slick talker, since when did you become so articulate and considerate!”

Father Ye chuckled, ”Hehe! I owe you and Anxin so much over the years, I just want to make up for it properly! I’m already a man with a foot in the grave, if I don’t treat you well now, I wouldn’t rest in peace even if I died!”

Mother Ye replied, ”If you’d figured it out earlier, Anxin and I wouldn’t have suffered so much!”

”Hehe! A prodigal who turns back is worth more than gold! It’s not too late now!” Father Ye, in the face of Mother Ye’s reproach, could only smile apologetically.

Ye Anxin, standing at the door, smiled when she heard their conversation. Finally, she couldn’t help but interject, ”Mom, Dad’s right! A prodigal who turns back is worth more than gold. As long as Dad can turn over a new leaf, let’s forgive him for his past. After all, we are family, there’s no hurdle we can’t overcome!”

Hearing Ye Anxin’s voice, both Father and Mother Ye, who were cleaning on the balcony, were startled and hurriedly came out to greet her! Father Ye smiled brightly, ”Anxin’s back? When did you come in, why didn’t you say anything? How did you get in? Didn’t hear you knock on the door?”

Ye Anxin twirled the keys in her hand in front of Father Ye, triumphantly saying, ”Mom gave me a set of keys to the house a few days ago! So I can come back whenever I want!”

Mother Ye hurriedly walked over, grabbed Ye Anxin’s arm, and pulled her into the house, ”Alright, don’t stand in the doorway talking, come in first!”

Ye Anxin sat down on the sofa, and Father Ye eagerly went to pour her a glass of water and handed it over.

Looking at the tea Father Ye handed over with a smile, Ye Anxin felt like she was dreaming!

Her father had really changed, completely different from before!

Before, every time she returned home, Father Ye was almost never there, and even if he was, he’d be lazing on the sofa watching TV, never making tea for her!

It was like the sun had risen from the west!

Holding the tea Father Ye handed over, warmth filled Ye Anxin’s heart, and she said sincerely, ”Dad, you’ve really changed a lot!”

Father Ye smiled, embarrassedly touching his head.

Mother Ye sat down next to Ye Anxin, smiling as she chimed in, ”Yes, since the day before yesterday, don’t know what got into him, it’s like he’s become a completely different person, not only not going out to eat, drink, and play, but also becoming considerate!”

Hearing their conversation, worried they might doubt his change, Father Ye rolled his eyes, sat on the other side of the sofa, and deliberately sighed, lamenting, ”The day before yesterday, a brother of mine’s wife suddenly died in a car accident, leaving him alone! When I saw my brother crying so heartbroken, it hurt me too! At that moment, I thought, if one day you left me too and Anxin got married, then I’d really be all alone! You know, I can’t do anything, if you left me, I really would starve to death! So, since that day, it suddenly dawned on me! Our time is short, why not cherish our current life? We’re only fifty now, if we live well, we can still have another twenty years together in front of us, right?”

”Died in a car accident?” Mother Ye widened her eyes in disbelief, saying painfully, ”So pitiful! The dead can rest in peace, but the living have to suffer!”

Seeing that Mother Ye fully believed his story, Father Ye quickly smiled and said, ”Yes! So, after that day, I suddenly realized, in the remaining days, I must treat both you and Anxin, and our little grandson well! I was so sorry to you all before! I just hope you can forgive me, let me make it up to you properly!”

Mother Ye glanced at Father Ye, filled with hope, saying, ”I hope you can truly turn over a new leaf!”

Ye Anxin patted Mother Ye’s hand, smiling as she said, ”Mom, Dad’s right, life is short, we should cherish it! Since he’s willing to change, we should trust him and give him this opportunity! Haven’t you hoped for Dad’s change for twenty years? Now you should be happy!”
