Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 455: Chapter 498: You Are a Man!

However, once she sat up, Xiao Bai’s voice disappeared again!

Ye Anxin rubbed her temples and shook her head vigorously, thinking she was just having hallucinations from missing him too much!

But soon, Xiao Bai’s anxious voice sounded outside the door again, ”Mom... Mom... where are you?”

”Xiao Bai!” Ye Anxin hurriedly tried to get out of bed, but her hand was held by Mu Beiting.

”Uncle, Xiao Bai is looking for me! He seems very scared, let me go see him quickly!” Ye Anxin said anxiously, trying to pry open Mu Beiting’s hand and get out of bed.

Mu Beiting didn’t let go, slowly sitting up, calmly saying, ”He is not an ordinary child!”

”What do you mean not an ordinary child? He’s only five years old!” At this moment, with her mind only on Xiao Bai, Ye Anxin couldn’t grasp the implications in Mu Beiting’s words, all she cared about was quickly going out to comfort Xiao Bai’s troubled heart!

Mu Beiting’s thin lips were tightly pursed, his face cold.

Just then, the room door was twisted open, Xiao Bai standing at the door, clutching a pillow, with his eyes red, confused, and pitifully asking, ”Mom, what are you doing here? I opened my eyes just now and couldn’t see you, I thought you didn’t want me again?”

Seeing Xiao Bai’s eyes were red, Ye Anxin immediately pushed away Mu Beiting’s hand and got out of bed in a flash, quickly walking to Xiao Bai, gently stroking his face, ”Xiao Bai, don’t worry, Mom won’t leave you! I just wanted to go back to my room to take a shower, change clothes, and then wake you up!”

”Oh! That’s it! I thought Mom had left again! It’s so good that Mom is not leaving!” Saying this, he hugged Ye Anxin’s arm and gently rubbed against it.

”Xiao Bai, be good and sit on the bed waiting for me! I’ll take a shower and come out, and then accompany you back to the room to change clothes!” Saying this, Ye Anxin held Xiao Bai’s hand and led him to the bed, letting him sit down.

Once Xiao Bai was seated, Ye Anxin found a clean set of clothes from the closet and headed for the bathroom.

Last night, she was so tired and sweaty, intending to take a bath before sleeping, but too tired, she was too weak to move!

Helplessly, she had to rest temporarily! Now, having regained a little strength, she of course decided to shower first.

Mu Beiting and Xiao Bai sat side by side on the bed, both watching the bathroom door as it closed in front of them. Xiao Bai pursed his lips, turned his head, and looked at Mu Beiting, complaining, ”Dad, did you intentionally take Mom away from me?”

Mu Beiting did not avoid, directly admitting, ”Yes!”

”Dad, why did you do that? Mom is mine, I want her to stay by my side!” Five years of lacking maternal love left Xiao Bai feeling uneasy, fearing that if his mother was not by his side, he would immediately have a feeling of being abandoned!

Thus, he wanted to keep his mother near him so he could feel secure.

Mu Beiting looked at Xiao Bai seriously and said, ”Mu Shaobai, you are a man, you are already five years old! You are no longer a child! As a man, you must not be dependent, nor weak! A man should be open and honest, not scheming. If you want to do something, do it directly and openly! I remember teaching you a long time ago about how to conduct yourself! Have you already forgotten my words?”

Xiao Bai had always been clever, understood well what Mu Beiting meant in his words.

Clearly, he was being blamed for employing small tricks last night in front of his mother!

Being reprimanded by Mu Beiting, Xiao Bai bowed his head in shame, weakly saying, ”Dad, I’m sorry, I was wrong! I won’t dare to do it again!”

Mu Beiting nodded with satisfaction, gently touching Xiao Bai’s head, his eyes gradually softening, warmly saying, ”Dad knows what you think! Dad promised you, Mom will not leave you again! You don’t need to be afraid, keeping guard by Mom’s side all the time! You have your own things to do, and Mom also has her own things to do! Everyone must have their personal space, you know?”

”Is it true that Dad will not let Mom leave me?” Xiao Bai blinked his pitiful big eyes, full of expectation as he looked at Mu Beiting.

Though he asked this question countless times, for someone who has felt insecure since childhood, his heart never felt completely at ease.

”Dad vows!” Saying this, he raised his right hand, with three fingers pointing up, in a vow gesture.

”Alright! Dad, I trust you!” Xiao Bai nodded, pulling down Mu Beiting’s vow hand, gripping it tightly in his arms.

In his mind, his father was tall and sacred! He had great trust in his father’s words, especially his vows.

With his father’s firm promise, his restless heart finally felt a bit more settled.

Mu Beiting said nonchalantly, ”Go back to your room, change clothes, wash up, then go down for breakfast! After breakfast, Dad and Mom will go to Han City! I promised you, how I take Mom there, I will bring her back the same way!”

”Okay!” Xiao Bai nodded obediently, sliding off the bed onto the floor, standing up, waving to Mu Beiting, and turning away.

When Ye Anxin came out of the shower, seeing only Mu Beiting in the room, she couldn’t help but ask puzzledly, ”Where’s Xiao Bai?” Then remembering last night’s events, she raised an eyebrow and asked unhappily, ”Did you send him back to his room again?”

Hearing this, Mu Beiting’s face sank, ”He’s a man, a man should behave like one. Snuggling around his mother all day, what’s that about? Such a child will not accomplish anything when he grows up!”

”But, he’s only five years old, isn’t a five-year-old supposed to be snuggling with his mother?” Ye Anxin looked at Mu Beiting, feeling it right!

At least, when she was five, she snuggled with her mother all day!

Because her parents were gamblers, those who collected high-interest loans would cause trouble at home all day, so she became closer to her mother, more dependent than other children!

”When I was five, I already started picking up scraps to sell for money, cooking for myself, washing clothes, relying on myself for everything! Compared to me at that time, he is already much happier!” Mu Beiting said without changing his expression, his face calm as if not at all affected by the sad past.

Mu Beiting felt nothing, but Ye Anxin’s eyes turned red, choking up, ”Picking up scraps to earn money at five? Why was it like that?”

Mu Beiting spat out four words indifferently, ”For the sake of living!”

”What about your mom?” Ye Anxin looked at Mu Beiting, seeing no emotional fluctuation, couldn’t help asking.

She only remembered he was brought to the Mu Family by the Mu old man at age ten. Before age ten, he should have been with his mother!

”I don’t have a mom!” When mentioning the word ’mom’, Mu Beiting still had no expression, as if mother to him was just an insignificant person.
