Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 475: Chapter 518: Mother Ye’s Memories

”After hearing the doctor’s diagnosis, your grandfather and I almost fainted in the hospital! Although your grandfather has only one daughter, me, our family has struggled financially since I was young. We saved sparingly for over twenty years, and only managed to save a few thousand yuan! This amount wasn’t even enough for surgery, let alone for medication! At that time, your grandfather wanted to give up treatment and go home to wait for death! I was unwilling, I didn’t want to give up! After much effort, I finally persuaded your grandfather to stay in Du City! While he took medicine to recuperate, I went out to earn money! Because of my limited education, high-paying jobs looked down on me! The only thing I could do was work as a waitress, washing dishes! To earn money faster, I even worked as a laborer at construction sites! But as time passed, all the money I made wasn’t enough for surgery, or even for your grandfather’s medication and chemotherapy! Watching him grow thinner every day, and vomit blood increasingly severely, I felt a deep sadness!” At this point, Ye’s mother couldn’t help but recall those difficult days.

Ye Anxin, who was intensely attentive, calmed down gradually after listening to Ye’s mother’s account, and seeing her tears, he handed over a tissue from the coffee table and comforted her: ”Mom, don’t be sad anymore, that’s all in the past! Haven’t you also come through your struggles now?”

”The only thing mom did in this lifetime without regret is giving birth to you! If it weren’t for you, maybe I wouldn’t have held on until today!” Ye’s mother took the tissue, wiped her tears at the corners of her eyes, looked at Ye Anxin with loving affection in her eyes.

Ye Anxin nodded earnestly and said, ”I know! That’s why, no matter how hard it was before, I never complained! I know all that mom did was for me!”

Listening to Ye Anxin’s heartfelt words, Ye’s mother couldn’t stop the tears she had barely held back from flowing again.

Ye Anxin didn’t speak, just kept handing her tissues.

After crying almost enough, Ye’s mother took a deep breath and continued, ”Later, your grandfather couldn’t bear to see me suffer and secretly left home! I searched day and night for three entire days, and finally found him under a flyover! At that time, he was in rags, staying there with the beggars, eating food picked from the trash bins! Seeing him like that, my heart ached, and I held him crying, pleading bitterly ’til he came back with me! Once back, I continued to work to earn money! To gather the medical expenses, I nearly ended up as a hostess in a nightclub! Luckily, afterward, I encountered my destined benefactor! Sister Li, who lived with me in a slum! Sister Li told me there’s a fast way to make money—be a surrogate for others! To gather medical expenses, I unhesitatingly followed Sister Li to find their boss, Brother Fei! Brother Fei took a photo of me and told me to go home and wait for news! I waited at home for a month, thinking it was like a stone sinking into the sea, unexpectedly, Brother Fei suddenly told me to do a big deal for him, once done, I could get a hefty reward of five million!”

Listening to Ye’s mother at this point, Ye Anxin could almost guess the following events!

She might just be the product of her mother’s surrogacy!

Sure enough, Ye’s mother’s subsequent words confirmed her inner speculation.

”At that time, thinking with the five million, not only could I cure your grandfather’s illness, but also let him live a carefree life for the rest of his life! So, I agreed to Brother Fei’s request! To be a surrogate for the famous Nan Family in Du City! Nan Family held power in Du City, the head of Nan Family was called Nan Mingchuan, and he had a wife! He married for ten years, his wife only gave him a daughter, she had once been pregnant with a boy, but due to various reasons lost it, and afterward, Nan Mingchuan’s wife was diagnosed unable to conceive again! Such a large wealth of the Nan Family couldn’t fall into the hands of a daughter, so they thought of finding someone to surrogate a boy! After careful selection, I was chosen by Nan Family to be the surrogate mother! If I could successfully give birth to a son, he would stay, and I’d leave with five million! If a daughter, the child had to be aborted! But they’d give me a million in compensation! At that time, I had no choice but to agree! Before conception, I ate a lot of Chinese medicine to adjust my body. After several nights, I successfully became pregnant! Afterward, no matter Chinese pulse diagnosis, or ultrasound, or amniocentesis test, all indicated the child in my belly was a boy! Nan Mingchuan was naturally ecstatic, not only bought me a villa to settle, but also found the best doctors to treat your grandfather! Those ten months were the happiest of my life! Except for your grandfather, no man had ever been so good to me! However, that was only under the condition the child in my belly was a boy!”

At this point, Ye’s mother sighed, sniffed, wiped away tears as she continued, ”In those ten months, Nan Mingchuan was around me day and night, keeping vigil over my belly! At that time, I thought he loved me, I even wishfully imagined if I bore him a son, would he keep me by his side! Even without official status, just being his clandestine lover, I’d be willing! Unfortunately, it was truly just my wishful thinking from beginning to end! After ten months of pregnancy, I gave birth! The result was beyond everyone’s expectations! I gave birth to a daughter weighing eight jin! At the moment the child was born, I was delighted inside! After all, she was my first child, whether a daughter or son, was my own flesh and blood after ten months of pregnancy! I loved her! But upon knowing I gave birth to a daughter, Nan Family greatly lost hope and turned ruthless! Not only refused to let you into Nan Family, they gave me a million and chased us mother and daughter out! Your grandfather was also booted from the hospital! After leaving the delivery room, I never saw Nan Mingchuan again! After leaving Nan Family, I took the one-million check, holding you while still in swaddling clothes to find your grandfather! But unexpectedly, Nan Mingchuan’s wife actually made a scene to your grandfather! Upon learning what I had done, your grandfather was too ashamed and guilty, chose the path of jumping into the lake to end his life!”

At this point, Ye’s mother was saddened again, crying!

The events of twenty-six years ago make her sad each time she recalls!

For her, that incident is an indelible wound! Though healed, the scar remains!

Ye Anxin thought for a moment, mused, ”Is Nan Mingchuan the head of Nan Family who attended Yueyue’s wedding?”
