Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 465: Chapter 508: Anxin, Let’s Go!

Ye Anxin’s mother shook her head frantically, ”No! I’m fine, take me to Blue Sky Mall!”

The driver, still unsure, gave Ye Anxin’s mother another glance through the rearview mirror and asked, ”Are you really okay?”

Ye Anxin, seeming absent-minded, shook her head, her face still very pale, ”I’m fine!”

Seeing Ye Anxin’s mother’s firm reply, the driver didn’t say anything more and headed straight for Blue Sky Mall as she had requested!

Although Ye Anxin’s mother lived in the suburbs, it took her about the same time as Ye Anxin to get to Blue Sky Mall.

Ye Anxin and Ling Yueyue had just sat down by the window in the western restaurant when they saw Ye Anxin’s mother appear at the entrance.

Ye Anxin quickly stood up and waved happily at her mother.

Ye Anxin’s mother forced a smile and sat down next to her.

Sitting across from Ye Anxin, Ling Yueyue immediately noticed the unusual look on her mother’s face and asked with concern, ”Auntie, why do you look so unwell? Did something happen?”

Upon hearing Ling Yueyue’s words, Ye Anxin quickly turned her head to examine her mother’s face closely.

Seeing her mother’s pale face, she hurriedly grabbed her mother’s hand. As soon as she touched it, she was startled by how cold it was!

”Mom, why are your hands so cold!” she said as she opened her mother’s tightly clenched fist, feeling it, and asked with concern, ”Why are your palms so sweaty? What happened? Mom, are you alright?”

Ye Anxin’s mother forcefully pulled her hand away from Ye Anxin’s grip, touched her own face, shook her head, forced a smile, and comforted, ”I’m fine, maybe I was just in a hurry earlier and got tired, I’ll be okay after a short rest! You know my health has never been good, I get like this with the slightest bit of fatigue! Don’t worry, I’m fine!”

Ye Anxin raised an eyebrow and asked, uncertain, ”Really okay?”

”I’m fine, really! Let’s just have something to drink! Since we’re here, we might as well enjoy!” she said, waving to the waiter to order a hot milk tea.

Ye Anxin and Ling Yueyue exchanged a glance, seeing that Ye Anxin’s mother seemed genuinely okay, they finally let out a small sigh of relief.

In no time, the milk tea was brought over, and Ye Anxin’s mother quickly lowered her head, drinking the entire cup cleanly!

Only after finishing the hot milk tea did she feel warmth return to her body!

Earlier, she felt so cold that her whole body trembled, breaking out in cold sweat!

Recalling the warning from Nan mother, she felt a shiver run through her, not knowing what to do!

Seeing Ye Anxin’s mother drink the still steaming milk tea all in one go, Ling Yueyue widened her eyes in disbelief and asked, ”Auntie, isn’t it too hot? It was freshly made!”

Ye Anxin’s mother, preoccupied, kept her head down, only aware that Ling Yueyue was speaking, but she didn’t hear what was said; she just shook her head instinctively.

Noticing Ye Anxin’s mother’s unusual behavior, Ling Yueyue and Ye Anxin exchanged glances again, with a trace of doubt in their eyes.

”Auntie, now that we’ve finished drinking, let’s go!” Ling Yueyue said as she motioned for the waiter to bring the bill.

After settling the bill, Ye Anxin and Ling Yueyue each took one of Ye Anxin’s mother’s arms and left the restaurant.

Though Ye Anxin’s mother said nothing, both sensed her odd behavior, and Ye Anxin lowered her head, looking at her mother, and tentatively asked, ”Mom, are you uncomfortable somewhere? Should I take you to the hospital to see a doctor?”

”I’m fine, I’m fine!” Ye Anxin’s mother shook her head frantically, denying again and again!

This matter had come too suddenly, and she didn’t know how to tell Anxin!

Should she tell Anxin that her surname was originally Nan, not Ye?

If she admitted she was a Nan, the secret she had guarded for over twenty years would be exposed.

Nan Family’s only daughter, Nan Jiansi, had died, and given the nature of Nan Laoye, he would definitely take Anxin away from her!

No... Anxin was her life, her only one; she could not let anyone take Anxin away from her!

With that thought, Ye Anxin’s mother suddenly lost control and grabbed Ye Anxin’s hand, her voice trembling and pleading, ”Anxin, let’s go! Let’s leave here! Go to a quiet place and live our own life!”

Startled by her mother’s sudden action, Ye Anxin asked in confusion, ”Mom, what’s wrong with you? Why the sudden urge to leave?”

Ye Anxin’s mother lowered her head to hide the guilty look in her eyes, stuttering, ”I... I... I don’t want to stay here anymore, I want to leave! You are my only one, you would agree with mom, right? You would leave with mom, right?”

Ye Anxin led her mother to a bench in the hallway and sat down, gently patting her mother’s hand in comfort, and softly asked, ”Mom, don’t rush, let’s talk slowly. What’s really going on? Why do you suddenly want to leave? We’ve been here for over twenty years, why not earlier, why now? Did something happen? Tell me, and we can deal with it together. Is it dad? Did he get into trouble again? Is he gambling again and being chased by loan sharks?”

Ling Yueyue sat on the other side of Ye Anxin’s mother, holding her other hand, and comforted, ”Yes! Auntie, please don’t be anxious, tell us what’s going on? Why the sudden urge to leave? Anxin has been away from Jin City for five years, and you never asked to leave. What’s happened today?”

Ye Anxin’s mother frantically shook her head, her emotions intense, ”Nothing, nothing happened! I just don’t want to stay here anymore! Your father has too many bad friends here, he may not be gambling now, but there’s no guarantee he won’t be led back into it again! I’m afraid, I don’t dare to stay here anymore! Let’s leave and start our new life, shall we?”

Ye Anxin, holding her mother’s hand, said helplessly, ”Mom, Uncle is in Jin City, Xiao Bai is in Jin City too, what about them if I leave? I can’t just abandon them!”

Hearing this, Ye Anxin’s mother angrily shook off Ye Anxin’s hand, speaking harshly, ”So, you’re choosing them over me?”

”Mom, aren’t you putting me in a tough spot?” Ye Anxin looked at her mother helplessly.

Her mother used to be caring and considerate, never putting her in difficult positions before!

What has really happened today? Why has she changed so much?

Ling Yueyue sighed, saying helplessly, ”Auntie, please don’t be so agitated, you’ve always cared so much for Anxin. Why put her in such a position today? Moreover, her husband is Mu Beiting, do you think you can leave? No matter where you go, Mu Beiting will find you!”

”Doesn’t Mu Beiting not like you? So why would he come looking for you! Xiao Bai we don’t need, give him up; mom only wants you! You are mom’s life, mom can’t live without you!” With these words, tears started streaming down her face.
