The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 646: Chapter 633: The Doomed Princess (Part 1)

Anning had spent a considerable amount of time again in the Nihility World.

This time, she and An Xin absorbed a vast amount of energy. Those Task Takers possessed an abundance of energy, and together with their Golden Fingers, they had indeed provided Anning with many valuable gains.

It took Anning and An Xin quite some time to absorb these energies, but after the absorption and adding the energy previously obtained from various worlds, the world rules, and the Merit Power, Anning began to attempt breaking through the world barriers.

This attempt took quite a long stretch of time.

Finally, they penetrated some Laws and broke through the barrier of a small world.

Anning and An Xin were overjoyed.

Gazing at this small world, Anning said to An Xin, ”At last, we can avenge our past disgrace.”

The small world she had discovered was once controlled by the Main God System, where she played the role of cannon fodder without a choice, forced to act according to the Main God’s will, truly feeling aggrieved inside.

Now, she had finally found a way back to this small world, and she wanted to live it all over again by her own volition.

The reason Anning had striven so hard was partly for this too.

Why should her life be manipulated by others? She had her own desires; she didn’t want to be someone else’s puppet.

Her wishes had always been to firstly take her revenge on the Main God and secondly to return to those small worlds to completely transform those manipulated lives.

After celebrating with An Xin, she plunged directly into that small world.

When Anning awoke once more, she immediately felt the oppressive force of the world.

She tried to channel Spiritual Power, only to find out that this world had none at all, and her Divine Sense was so suppressed that she could barely move it; even An Xin had become exceptionally weak.

Anning narrowed her eyes slightly and began to survey her surroundings.

She was in an extraordinarily lavish palace where every item placed within was scarce and precious.

For example, not far from her, there was a bead curtain made of South Sea Pearls, and on the table, there was a glazed lamp displayed, and moreover, the bed’s drapes were made from Chaoxiao silk, while even the carpet spread on the floor was a Persian tribute.

Seeing these arrangements, memories that had faded over the years surged back to Anning.

She remembered many things.

This was a world she had once transmigrated to, and her current location was the Imperial Palace of the Daxing Dynasty. She was the only daughter of Emperor Xiande of the Daxing Dynasty, Princess Anning.

Emperor Xiande ascended the throne at fifteen and had almost reached two decades of reign; he had many concubines, but peculiarly, for all these years, no sons had been born to him. Not even to mention sons, there was only one daughter—Anning.

As Emperor Xiande’s sole progeny, she had been showered with immense doting from birth.

Emperor Xiande’s affection for this daughter had reached an extreme; he treated her as one would a delicate treasure, hesitant to even scold her in the face of great matters, Even if Anning threw tantrums in his palace and broke his most cherished items, he couldn’t bear to utter a word of rebuke.

Within the harem, not to mention the concubines, even the Empress had to act according to Anning’s preferences.

It could be said that Anning’s status was sufficiently esteemed, and barring unforeseen circumstances, she should have been able to live a blissful life.

However, contrary to expectations, her life turned out to be particularly miserable.

The reason was that Anning had offended the future Emperor.

Since Emperor Xiande had no son and Anning, being a daughter, could not inherit the throne, naturally, the next Emperor had to be chosen from the Royal Family.

Emperor Xiande was a sovereign of particularly mild temperament and also his governing ability was not strong. At present, the Cabinet held power, and the Prime Minister had begun selecting the next Emperor early on.

After much deliberation, he had chosen a young man who was relatively closely related by blood to Emperor Xiande.

This young man was named Zhou Jingxing. In his early years, he had come to the palace to pay his respects and was humiliated by Anning, hence he harbored resentment in his heart.

Afterward, Zhou Jingxing discreetly ingratiated himself with the Prime Minister and later married his daughter.

Zhou Jingxing was ambitious; he intended to ascend to the throne after Emperor Xiande’s grand funeral procession.

But he could endure it, pretending to be guileless in front of the Grand Secretary, thus earning the Grand Secretary’s complete trust.

After that, Zhou Jingxing encountered Princess Anning several times. For some reason, Princess Anning always disliked him; she would insult him whenever they met. Because of this, Zhou Jingxing came to hate Princess Anning to the core.

When Princess Anning grew up and reached marriageable age, Zhou Jingxing colluded with Prime Minister Liu to deceive Emperor Xiande by choosing a top scorer for Princess Anning’s marriage. This top scorer was young and incredibly handsome, with exceptional talent, seemingly an excellent candidate for Prince Consort. However, this top scorer was actually a scoundrel; he had a wife and children in the countryside but concealed this fact.

In reality, it wasn’t him concealing it – Zhou Jingxing and Prime Minister Liu were both aware of these matters; they intentionally selected such a Prince Consort for Princess Anning.

Emperor Xiande admired the top scorer’s literary talent and appearance and, with Prime Minister Liu subtly praising alongside, he was happily convinced to bestow a marriage to the top scorer.

After Princess Anning and Top Scholar Zhao were wed, not even a year passed before Top Scholar Zhao’s wife from the countryside arrived with their children.

Then...

It was that Top Scholar Zhao refused to recognize his lawful wife, even attempting to kill her and their children. The lawful wife, along with her children, submitted a lawsuit to Yingtian Prefecture. In the end, Top Scholar Zhao did not meet a good end, but Princess Anning’s reputation was also ruined.

The entire populace of the Daxing Dynasty said that Princess Anning had set her sights on Top Scholar Zhao, fully aware that he had a wife and children, yet still forcibly snatched another’s husband. Others said that Princess Anning was arrogant and domineering, unforgiving by nature. Knowing that Top Scholar Zhao’s wife and children were coming to the capital, she still sent people wanting to silence them permanently.

Anyway, all the slander was directed at Princess Anning, leaving her unable to defend herself.

Then some Ministers petitioned, claiming that Princess Anning’s moral conduct was poor, and requested Emperor Xiande to send Princess Anning to a temple to cultivate, ostensibly to pray for the nation’s blessings.

Emperor Xiande felt heartache for his daughter, unwilling to let Princess Anning be troubled by rumors, and also thought it might be good for her to find some peace in a temple, so he sent her to one.

Actually, according to Emperor Xiande’s intentions, even though she was in a temple, Princess Anning’s treatment remained unchanged. She still enjoyed all the benefits befitting a princess.

However, those people below had been bribed by Zhou Jingxing, acting submissively in public while secretly creating obstacles for Princess Anning.

Not only was Princess Anning tormented by her tarnished reputation, her mood was very poor, and with someone poisoning her in secret, she didn’t last long before she passed away.

Upon her death, Emperor Xiande was devastated, and it wasn’t long before he too passed away, and ultimately, Zhou Jingxing ascended the throne.

Even after becoming Emperor, Zhou Jingxing did not let go of his grudge against Princess Anning. He stripped her of her title and reduced her to a commoner, not allowing her to be buried in the Imperial Mausoleum.

In that life, Princess Anning understood everything, but she was unable to fight back.

Every time she wanted to do or say something, she was controlled by the Main God System, forced to act according to the Main God’s plot.

She wasn’t actually poisoned to death; she died of anger.

This time, Princess Anning was back, no longer under anyone’s control, and she intended to live this life properly.

Zhou Jingxing wanted to climb over her to the top, but it depended on whether she was willing.

And that Top Scholar Zhao, clearly a major scoundrel. In her previous life, there was nothing she could do, but this life, she would not let this scoundrel ruin her again.

Zhou Jingxing said her reputation was tarnished, but it was just a pretext for his personal vendetta.

Since ancient times, what hasn’t happened in the royal family? There have been many incidents involving tarnished reputations of Royal Princesses, and none of them have been severely dealt with.

It was just that Zhou Jingxing hated her, and because she had no brothers, she met such an end.

Had she had brothers, and if one of them ascended the throne, even if she truly snatched another’s husband, so what?

After surveying her surroundings, Princess Anning sat on the couch and let out a sneer, then she summoned someone.

”Qiuyue, come in.”

Qiuyue was a palace maid who had served Princess Anning for many years, known inside the palace as Aunt Qiu Yue. She was exceptionally loyal to Princess Anning and was also a very clever woman.

In her previous life, Qiuyue had actually realized that Prince Consort Zhao was no good man and had warned Princess Anning. However, Princess Anning, unable to escape control, had scolded Qiuyue severely and even dismissed her, resulting in a bad end for Qiuyue.

This time, Princess Anning would treat Qiuyue well and repay her for everything owed.

Qiuyue soon responded and came in.

She was dressed in fragrant colored attire and stood there quietly and composed, her presence instantly soothing.

Seeing Qiuyue, Princess Anning first smiled: ”Qiuyue, have you seen Top Scholar Zhao?”
