The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 617: Chapter 606: My Daughter Is a Vicious Supporting Female Character 6

Anna knew Anning was at the old Qinghe mansion and soon made her way over.

She arrived full of rage, but as soon as she entered, she saw Anning sitting quietly under the osmanthus tree in the courtyard, smiling at her, Anna felt like she was looking at a painting of a court lady.

Her anger dissipated, replaced by a sense of calm.

”Have a seat.”

Anning picked up the purple clay teapot and poured a cup of tea for Anna.

Anna took it and sipped: ”Tell me, where have you been these past twenty-plus years?”

Anning looked up, holding back tears in her eyes: ”I was deceived by Zou Huai De and pushed down the mountain, I nearly died at that time. Later, I was saved, and when I was rescued, almost all my bones were shattered. It took the person who saved me several years to enable me to stand again.”

”Why didn’t you come back?”

Anna asked eagerly.

Anning shook her head and gave a wry smile: ”I couldn’t remember who I was, I lost all my memories, and my body was especially weak in those years, I couldn’t survive without medicinal soup. It wasn’t until recently that my health started improving and I gradually remembered many things.”

Anna hadn’t expected this.

She sat somewhat dazedly on the mahogany chair and after a long time, she said, ”Fate makes fools of us all.”

Then, her eyebrows knit together: ”That detestable Zou Huai De, he actually pushed you down the mountain, he... no, he can’t be forgiven.”

Anning held Anna’s hand: ”Don’t be angry, after so many years, even if I report him now, it would be useless. The best plan now is to first recognize my daughter, then plan for everything else.”

Anna took a deep breath again.

She knew Anning was right, the most important thing now was to reunite with Jingjing and her daughter, other matters could wait.

”I’ll help you.”

Anna clasped Anning’s hand tightly.

Anna had been working hard in the Capital for many years, she started her own small company which was quite profitable, and had bought a house and settled down.

But her company was nothing compared to Zou Group.

Even if helping Anning against Zou Huai De might ruin her years of hard work, she still hesitated not a moment before saying, ”I will help you.”

Anning smiled and responded: ”Good.”

Capital

Starlight Entertainment

Zou Jingjing and her agent have been troubled these past few days.

Since Zou Xuexuan entered the entertainment industry, all kinds of negative news about Zou Jingjing have been flying around, resulting in her losing many opportunities. This was bearable, but recently, a reality show approached Zou Jingjing.

It was a brand-new reality show focusing on family.

The program invited several popular celebrities and their mothers to travel together, showcasing the affection between celebrity mothers and daughters and revealing to fans how the celebrities live their daily lives.

Zou Jingjing and Liu Yue Mei did not have a good relationship; she did not want to participate in the show with Liu Yue Mei.

Moreover, the show also invited Zou Xuexuan.

Without thinking, Zou Jingjing knew Liu Yue Mei would definitely join hands with Zou Xuexuan to spoil her image on the show.

Her reputation was already poor, and she didn’t want to make it worse. If Liu Yue Mei continued her schemes, Zou Jingjing feared she might soon have to say goodbye to the entertainment industry.

Zou Jingjing’s manager, Sister Hong, discovered her and has been with her through thick and thin ever since.

Their relationship is deep, and she is unwilling to see this hardworking girl get framed.

She also argued with the company, trying to decline the invitation from the show’s team.

But Liu Yue Mei somehow bribed the company’s upper management, and orders came down that Zou Jingjing must participate in the show, or else she would be shelved.

Knowing that participating in the show would lead to her being maliciously slandered, yet with no choice but to participate, Zou Jingjing was so anxious that she developed many acne, and her skin deteriorated.

Seeing that recording would begin in a few days, Zou Jingjing had resigned herself to her fate.

She told Sister Hong, ”I’ll go. In front of the national audience, Liu Yue Mei can’t do much to me. At most, she’ll pull some stunts behind the scenes. I just need to be careful.”

Sister Hong sighed, ”We have no choice now. If only... you had your birth mother, you wouldn’t have to care about Liu Yue Mei’s attitude.”

Zou Jingjing gave a bitter smile, ”Where would a mother just fall out of the sky? Since I can remember, I’ve always hoped my mom would come back to see me, even just once. But all these years have passed, she has never looked at me. How could she be so heartless?”

Zou Jingjing has always believed that her mother abandoned her.

Though not exactly as Liu Yue Mei claimed, that she had eloped with someone, she did leave her behind.

She no longer held any hope for her mother.

”Sigh.”

Sister Hong sighed again.

At this moment, Zou Jingjing’s phone rang.

She glanced at the caller ID, which showed Aunt An, and hurriedly picked up the phone: ”Aunt An...”

Zou Jingjing had only said ”Aunt” when Anna, frantic, began speaking rapidly, barely giving Zou Jingjing a chance to interject.

”Jingjing, your mom is back, your mom...”

Zou Jingjing’s phone fell to the ground, and she just stood there stunned, not picking it up, while Sister Hong also heard what was coming from the phone, ”Your mom didn’t leave on her own back then; that bastard Zou Huai De tricked her into the mountains and nearly killed her by pushing her off. She was saved by someone and then lost her memory. She just recently recalled a lot of things and... she wants to see you.”

Sister Hong thought to herself that this really was like a mom falling from the sky.

Sister Hong was just about to pick up the phone but Zou Jingjing was quicker, swiftly picking it up: ”Aunt An, are you lying to me? She didn’t just abandon me and leave? She really...”

Anna was also heartbroken, ”Jingjing, I’ve been friends with your mom for so many years, I know what kind of person she is. She wouldn’t lie about this, and besides, can you really believe what Liu Yue Mei says? She even claimed your mom had eloped with someone, she’s obviously just trying to slander you. Your mom was nearly killed by Zou Huai De. If she hadn’t been lucky, there’d be nothing left of her now.”

Anna continued, ”Your mom and I have already booked flights to the Capital, we’ll be there soon, wait and ask her yourself.”

After hanging up, Zou Jingjing grabbed her phone and started sobbing uncontrollably.

Over the years, when Liu Yue Mei secretly manipulated things against her, she clenched her teeth and didn’t cry.

When for the sake of survival she dared not study, dared not learn anything, and could only hang out with thugs, she didn’t cry.

When she was first targeted upon entering the entertainment industry, she didn’t cry.

When she was bullied and oppressed, she didn’t cry.

When her reputation was viciously smeared by Liu Yue Mei and her daughter, she didn’t cry.

But now, she cried.

The grievances, the suffering came flooding in, and she couldn’t control herself, crying and shaking all over.

Sister Hong felt quite upset as well.

She hugged Zou Jingjing, ”Alright, don’t cry. Your mom is back, and you have a relative now. From now on, you’ll have some support.”
