The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 631: Chapter 619: My Daughter Is a Vicious Supporting Female Character 19

The jealousy in Liu Yue Mei’s eyes was fleeting.

Then she reached out wanting to shake hands with Anning: ”Today is our first meeting, I really didn’t expect Sister Sheng to be so beautiful.”

Anning shook hands with Liu Yue Mei lightly: ”Everyone who meets me compliments me on my beauty.”

Liu Yue Mei choked for a moment, then led Anning inside: ”Old Zou at our house always talks about you, but I’ve never met Sister Sheng. Where have you been all these years, you say you wouldn’t come to see Old Zou, but don’t you want to see your own child either?”

Liu Yue Mei’s words were an accusation against Anning, implying that as a mother, she was irresponsible and had abandoned the child to the father for twenty years without a care.

Anning smiled: ”Hasn’t Old Zou told you where I’ve been? He knows best where I am.”

Liu Yue Mei frowned: ”Eh, didn’t Sister Sheng leave on her own? How would Old Zou know where you went?”

”Idiot.”

Anning pretended to be affectionate and patted Liu Yue Mei on the shoulder, but the slap made Liu Yue Mei so pained she could barely stand: ”Old Zou is the biggest liar, when you listen to him, you have to filter out half of the water in his words first. Even then you can’t fully trust what’s left, you have to strain out sixty percent of the nonsense. What remains is only twenty percent that’s somewhat reliable, and even that you can’t fully take to heart, you need to be cautious, you see, pay more attention in the future.”

”That can’t be, Old Zou isn’t that kind of person.”

Liu Yue Mei shook her head.

Anning burst out laughing: ”I call you silly and you really are silly. Let me tell you, I was Old Zou’s college classmate. Back then, he wasn’t as glamorous as he is now. I’ve seen him at his lowest, and those tough days when he had only three steamed buns to gnaw on. What kind of person he is, I know better than you do.”

Liu Yue Mei: ...

She was actually at a loss for words.

At this time, almost all the live streaming rooms were filled with laughter.

Since five celebrities were gathered together, the audience in all the live stream rooms could see this scene.

Amidst the screens filled with laughter, there were a few comments about ”original wife versus mistress,” and ”chaotic scene.”

The fans of Zou Jingjing and Anning were making even more noise below, it was truly a thunderous celebration.

”Celebrating Sister Sheng smacking down the line.”

”Never thought in immortal sister’s heart, Boss Zou is just a big fibber, and Liu Yue Mei is actually an idiot, haha, too funny.”

”Do you understand him as I do? This line is just too good.”

”Suddenly feel that immortal sister isn’t having an easy time.”

”I wonder what Boss Zou feels when he hears about those times when he was at his most wretched?”

”I’ve always thought Boss Zou is a big scumbag. A woman as gorgeous and as impeccable as immortal sister stayed by his side through the hardest times of his life, married him, had a daughter, yet he abandoned his wife and immediately married another woman who he thought was wealthy and from a good family, this really leaves one speechless.”

”If I had a girlfriend like Sister Sheng, I would be so happy. Boss Zou really doesn’t know the blessings he has.”

”Suddenly, I’m a bit confused. Sister Sheng has both beauty and talent, and she’s not lacking in money either, why would Boss Zou abandon her?”

”What exactly happened back then? Suddenly, I really want to know about the grievances and stories between Sister Sheng, Boss Zou, and Liu Yue Mei.”

Anning walked to the middle of the courtyard with Liu Yue Mei, smiling as she shook hands with the other three mothers: ”Hello everyone, I’m Sheng Anning, Zou Jingjing’s mother.”

Ai Le’s mother, Zhang Meili, and Yu Jing’s mother, Jiang Xiuzhi, all stood up to shake hands with Anning.

After everyone got acquainted, Liu Yue Mei came over again: ”Xuanxuan and I have prepared some snacks and fruits and stuff, plus some other ingredients, but neither of us are good at cooking. I’ve heard that Sister Sheng is quite skilled in the kitchen, I’m afraid we’ll have to trouble Sister Sheng to help us make something to eat later.”

Zou Xuexuan also laughed and said: ”We’ll definitely need Aunt Sheng’s help, otherwise we will all be going hungry, and Aunt Sheng, you probably wouldn’t want to see everyone starving, right?”

”Definitely not.”

Anning smiled and took up the offer: ”Where are the kitchen and ingredients?”

Liu Yue Mei was delighted.

She thought to herself that she knew it would be like this.

Ordinary people, unless they are extremely thick-skinned, would not refuse such a request.

Especially since this is during a recording of a show, she had put it in such a way that if Anning refused, she would definitely be cursed at. She is Zou Jingjing’s mother, and if she gets scolded, it would also reflect poorly on Zou Jingjing. For the sake of Zou Jingjing, she would have to take on these chores.

Liu Yue Mei was smugly thinking to herself that later she would accompany the guests in the living room for the meal, letting Anning slog away alone in the kitchen. No matter how good Anning looked, she would still have to come over and work like a servant for her.

Zou Xuexuan and Liu Yue Mei had similar thoughts, both mother and daughter wanted to boss Anning around to do the work, with Anning preparing the dishes and them hosting the guests.

They would be sitting prettily, engaging in conversation with the guests, while Anning would be sweating bullets in the kitchen.

However, Zou Jingjing was starting to get anxious.

She had been around Liu Yue Mei and her daughter for so many years and naturally knew their petty thoughts.

She definitely did not want Anning to come over and do the work.

Why should Liu Yue Mei entertain guests while her mother Zou Jingjing does the chores? Liu Yue Mei really is worthless.

Zou Jingjing wanted to help Anning decline this small task.

She was ready to say that she’d rather lose fans and be cursed than let her mother suffer.

But Anning grabbed her and gently shook her head at her.

Then, with a face full of enthusiasm, Anning came over and stylishly wrapped an arm around Liu Yue Mei, striking a chummy pose.

Anning was tall, while Gao Yue Mei was short, making the gesture of Anning hugging Liu Yue Mei look very natural, and the imagery quite beautiful.

”Come on, today you’ll be my kitchen hand. I’m not going to keep my cooking skills a secret anymore. I’ll teach you anything you want to learn. Later on, you’ll be able to cook a couple of dishes for your darling Xuanxuan at home. Don’t tell me you’ve got a nanny at home; let me tell you, can a nanny’s cooking compare to a mother’s? A mother’s cooking has the taste of maternal love in it. Oh, your daughter is really pitiful, having grown up without ever tasting her mother’s cooking. Look, this won’t do, you have to seriously learn some culinary skills...”

Anning was strong, and Liu Yue Mei couldn’t get away even if she tried; she was forcibly dragged into the kitchen by Anning.

Anning didn’t care about Liu Yue Mei’s expensive gown. Once in the kitchen, she took an ugly, dark green apron and put it on her: ”Alright, get the ingredients out, let’s see what we can make.”

Zou Jingjing turned her head away, struggling to contain her laughter.

Zheng Ping tugged at Jiang Xiuzhi’s clothes and turned off the recording equipment to whisper: ”See? Everyone’s playing their own tricks.”

Jiang Xiuzhi quietly said, ”It was that Liu who started asking for trouble. Why did she invite us if she can’t cook? It seems like she wanted us to come and cook for her.”

Jiang Xiuzhi came from a rural background; both she and her husband Yu Zhou had experienced hard times. They moved to the city to work after having Yu Jing, and then stayed there. Later, Yu Zhou made money through business, and their home life became more affluent, but Jiang Xiuzhi still lived frugally. She couldn’t stand show-offs like Liu Yue Mei.

Zheng Ping curled her lip: ”Let’s not worry about that. Let’s just keep to ourselves later. Today is the battlefield for those two. Let them hash it out.”

When Zou Xuexuan saw Liu Yue Mei being pulled into the kitchen by Anning, she got a little anxious and quickly followed: ”Aunt Sheng, my mom really...”

”Come, you’ve arrived just in time, hurry up and put on this apron.”

Anning pulled Zou Xuexuan over and dressed her in an apron too: ”You need to learn how to cook too, so in the future you can show filial piety by cooking for your parents. You don’t know, your dad loves big meat buns with a beef filling the most. He adores the taste of mine, can eat five or six in one sitting, and the current nanny just can’t replicate that flavor. Later on, I’ll teach you, so you can cook it for your dad. Plus, I’ll teach you a few signature dishes. As a young lady about to get married, having a few specialty dishes can also please your in-laws, can’t it?”
