The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 621: Chapter 610: My Daughter Is a Vicious Supporting Female Character 10

As night fell, the heat outside had not yet dissipated, making anyone who stayed outside for a while sweat profusely, but it was cool and comfortable inside the air-conditioned room.

Liu Yue Mei was nestled on the sofa, admiring her freshly done nails.

Zou Xuexuan came down from upstairs: ”Mom, don’t we need to prepare things for the recording of the show?”

Liu Yue Mei blew on her nails: ”The housekeeper will prepare it for us.”

Zou Xuexuan sat down beside her: ”Then let the housekeeper prepare more, take my skincare products and also, take more clothes for me, I want to outshine everyone.”

Not only Zou Xuexuan and Zou Jingjing were going to attend the reality show, but also a popular top actress; Zou Xuexuan intended to surpass her.

Liu Yue Mei laughed: ”Don’t worry, we will definitely prepare clothes for you, making you the most dazzling one.”

Thinking about recording the program, Liu Yue Mei was somewhat reluctant.

It’s so much better to be a rich Madam at home, who wants to run around and work hard with the production crew, if not for completely suppressing Zou Jingjing, she would certainly not take this job.

While they were talking, Zou Huai De returned home.

Liu Yue Mei hurriedly stood up with a smile: ”You’re back, dinner is ready, sit for a while, we’ll have dinner soon.”

Zou Huai De took off his suit jacket and sat down on the sofa: ”In a few days, you and Xuexuan will go to the production team, prepare well, and also, even though you’re going to record the program, don’t lose contact with Xiao Kai, understand, Xuexuan?”

Zou Xuexuan quickly agreed.

She knew some family matters.

Zou Group seemed to develop quite well these past few years and had plenty of assets, but in fact, Zou Group had already been in crisis over two years ago, making their family life a bit tight.

Because of the Zou Group’s crisis, Zou Xuexuan had no choice but to enter the entertainment industry.

She and Zou Huai De valued Xiao Kai, who was not only a newly crowned Best Actor but also the boss of Starlight Entertainment and the second young master of the Xiao Family.

Xiao Family is one of the top conglomerates in Hua Country, Zou Group is incomparable, if Xiao Family is willing to help, Zou Group might smoothly get through the crisis.

However, Xiao Kai is not easy to approach, when Zou Xuexuan learned that Xiao Kai had accepted a role in a TV drama, she got a role as the third female lead in that drama and, with her passable acting skills and a pure appearance along with professional dedication, caught Xiao Kai’s special attention.

This way, Zou Xuexuan and Xiao Kai became boyfriend and girlfriend.

Zou Jingjing had also acted with Xiao Kai before, and they had a good relationship. Moreover, all the music in the movie that Xiao Kai won Best Actor for was helped by Zou Jingjing; hence Xiao Kai took extra care of her.

This was why Liu Yue Mei wanted to urgently suppress Zou Jingjing.

Zou Huai De gave a few more instructions to Zou Xuexuan, then the maid came out and asked if they wanted to start dinner.

As the family moved to the dining room, Liu Yue Mei’s phone rang.

She hurriedly answered, then her expression turned gloomy.

”What’s wrong?”

Zou Huai De asked.

Liu Yue Mei, grinding her teeth in anger, said: ”That woman is back, the director just called me, saying Zou Jingjing’s biological mother has returned and is willing to participate in recording this show.”

”What?”

Zou Huai De, startled by this news, dropped his chopsticks: ”What are you saying?”

”I’m saying your ex-wife is back.”

Liu Yue Mei yelled loudly: ”Why is she so shameless, she ran away, why would she come back, why come back?”

Zou Huai De never fully disclosed to Liu Yue Mei the details about how he harmed Anning; he merely told her that Anning had left, without specifying why.

At that time, Liu Yue Mei was deeply in love with Zou Huai De and didn’t inquire further.

But deep down, she understood that Anning didn’t just leave; she might have died or was made to disappear by Zou Huai De.

Over the years, Liu Yue Mei had consistently told others that Anning eloped with someone. After saying it for twenty years, she even convinced herself. But now, hearing about Anning’s return, she naturally exploded.

Zou Xuexuan had always believed Anning had run away, thinking Anning had bad morals, and that Zou Jingjing was just like her mother, a despicable woman. So, hearing now that Anning had returned, Zou Xuexuan frowned: ”How could she have the face to return? Isn’t she afraid of losing face?”
