The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 601: Chapter 591: The Stepmother Who Refuses to Be a Stepping Stone 79 (December Monthly Ticket Bonus)

”Alright.”

Li Zhicheng’s face fell, and he scolded Li Jingyan, ”Cut it out. Your dad is in this condition, how can you bear to see it?”

Li Jingyan let out a cold laugh, ”Him ending up like this is all because you guys indulged him.”

After snapping at her uncle, Li Jingyan ran straight out.

Liu Yuzhen quickly said to Li Zhicheng, ”I will go check on her.”

The atmosphere in the room became even more oppressive at that moment.

Liu Qi then asked Li Zhiyuan, ”Big uncle, what exactly is the situation with my uncle? He’s had the amputation, but what needs to be done afterwards? Is he injured anywhere else? How should he take care of his health from now on?”

He asked several questions in quick succession, causing Li Zhiyuan to nod incessantly, thinking to himself that this kid was reliable, far better than his own three.

”There are other injuries too, but they are minor and will heal. The main issue is he’s lost a leg. He probably won’t be able to do any work from now on, and there’s still children to raise, medicine to take...”

Li Zhicheng suddenly interjected, ”What children? Li Jindong is not our Li family’s blood.”

”What?”

Everyone was caught off guard by such earth-shattering news, all turning to look at Li Zhicheng.

Li Zhicheng wiped his face and explained the paternity test matter that Li Zhifang asked him to help with earlier, ”You see, the results are in. Li Jindong has no blood relation with Lao Si (the fourth one).”

The Li family members’ faces were black as the bottom of a pot at that moment.

Damn, having raised a kid for over a decade only to find he’s not one of their own, and Wang Baozhu had actually managed to put another green hat on Li Zhifang’s head, this is really...

”Who is the child’s father?”

Li Zhipeng asked, a vicious light flickering in his eyes, as if already contemplating how to deal with the adulterous couple.

”It might be Sun San’s.”

Li Zhicheng spoke coldly, ”But we can’t be certain yet, we need to do another test.”

”Do it, definitely do it.”

Li Zhipeng said through gritted teeth, ”If it really is Sun San’s, that kid is not going to have an easy time.”

Liu Yuzhen caught up with Li Jingyan and grabbed her, ”Sis, don’t cry. Third uncle didn’t mean anything by it. He’s just frustrated. Regardless of anything else, your dad is his blood brother...”

Li Jingyan stopped walking, ”I know, I’m not angry. I just couldn’t stay in that room. Looking at him, I... I really don’t know what to do. I used to hate him so much, but seeing him lying there so silently, I sort of can’t bring myself to hate him again. But to say that I have any filial feelings towards him, that I definitely do not.”

Liu Yuzhen quickly said, ”Sis, you can’t talk like that anymore. It’s not good if others hear, but since he’s like that now, we should still take care of him to some extent. Since we’ve gotten involved, we should handle it for the best and not give others anything to gossip about.”

Li Jingyan dried her tears, ”I understand in my heart.”

After thinking for a moment, ”Let’s go, let’s go buy something to eat.”

Liu Yuzhen was hungry by then too. She looked at her watch, considered that the people back in the ward probably hadn’t eaten and were likely hungry as well, and went with Li Jingyan to buy some food to bring back.

After everyone had eaten, Li Zhifang finally woke up.

As he awoke, he felt an intense pain all over his body and couldn’t help but cry aloud.

He tried to get up, but felt something was terribly wrong as he moved.

”What... what’s happened to me?”

Li Zhifang looked at Li Zhiyuan and asked, ”Big brother, my leg...”

Li Zhiyuan couldn’t bear to look at him, but still steeled his heart and said, ”Your leg... was amputated.”

Amputated?

Li Zhifang was stunned for a good while before suddenly letting out a wail of despair, ”I’m crippled, I’ve lost my leg...”

Li Zhiping and Li Zhikang quickly held him down so that he wouldn’t fall off the bed due to excessive excitement.

”Third.”

Li Zhicheng stepped forward: ”Calm down, you can’t be like this...”

Li Zhifang made a fuss for quite a while before quieting down.

At this time, he was sweating profusely, lying on the hospital bed and breathing heavily.

He thought of something: ”Third brother, Li Jindong, he...”

Li Zhicheng looked at Li Zhifang and said word by word: ”Is not related to you by blood.”

Li Zhifang was both crying and laughing, his whole being seemed insane: ”Wang Baozhu, that bitch, that bitch, she actually dared...”

Li Zhifang tightly grabbed Li Zhipeng’s hand who was standing by the bed: ”Second brother, get Wang Baozhu here, let her come, I...”

Overwhelmed by emotions, Li Zhifang fainted on the spot.

Li Zhipeng left in a fury.

Li Zhiping hurriedly asked: ”Second brother, what are you doing?”

Li Zhipeng dropped a sentence: ”To find Wang Baozhu.”

When Li Zhipeng found Wang Baozhu, she had already signed a private settlement with the driver and had even taken some money from him.

She was holding the money and seemed particularly delighted, without a care for Li Zhifang, whose condition was still unknown.

She first went shopping at the mall, bought several clothes, then had her hair permed, and had a good meal after.

However, before she could return home, Li Zhipeng caught her.

Li Zhipeng had people grab Wang Baozhu and brought her to a small company he had set up in the city.

Once in the office, Li Zhipeng ordered people to throw Wang Baozhu down: ”Speak, whose seed is Li Jindong really?”

Wang Baozhu nearly went mad with fear: ”Se-second brother, Jindong is the Li Family’s child, how could...”

Li Zhipeng sneered, walked over in a few steps, and grabbed a stick from who knows where to beat Wang Baozhu with: ”Wang Baozhu, do you take the Li Family for fools? Li Jindong and Lao Si don’t look alike at all, let me tell you the truth, Third has already done a paternity test for Lao Si and Li Jindong, and the result is that there is no blood relation.”

Of course, Wang Baozhu knew about the paternity test, but she didn’t expect that Li Zhifang would play such a cunning trick on her, saying he was going to work, but in fact, he went to do the paternity test with Li Laosan.

She cursed Li Zhifang in her heart, saying he deserved to get hit by a car, deserved to lose a leg.

”Second brother.”

Wang Baozhu cursed in her heart, but she was also scared.

She knelt down with a thud in front of Li Zhipeng: ”Second brother, I had no choice, Zhifang, he can’t have children, he has long been infertile, but those three aren’t close to me, if I don’t have a child, Zhifang can’t marry me, now I can’t rely on my husband or child, what can I do? I’ve been with Zhifang for so long and my stomach was still not stirring, I was really anxious, I... I had no choice but to do this, if I didn’t get pregnant at that time...”

She had been better off not mentioning the past, but once she brought up the past, Li Zhipeng kicked her over.

Wang Baozhu’s pregnancy nearly led to Zhang Fengfeng freezing to death, at that time if Wang Baozhu hadn’t been pregnant, the Li brothers might have flayed her alive.

But her child in her womb became her shield.

And in the end, the Li brothers had been holding back for such a long time, all because of a bastard.

”Heh...”

Li Zhipeng sneered repeatedly: ”Wang Baozhu, how can you be so disgusting, you... you’ve ruined my fourth brother’s entire life.”

He didn’t continue to beat Wang Baozhu, but took the bank card she had just gotten, forced the password out of her, then dragged Wang Baozhu and transferred the money in the card into his account.

”Wang Baozhu, this money is because of my fourth brother’s leg, it can’t stay in your hands, I’ll keep this money, I will use it to hire a nanny to take care of Lao Si, and you...”

Wang Baozhu was kneeling and begging: ”Second brother, I know I was wrong, please forgive me, I will never dare again, I... Zhifang has become like that, I can’t leave him, I have to take care of him...”
