Not Being a Trainer This Time

As soon as he decided to make the mask, Naoki went onto a shopping app and ordered the materials needed to make the mask that same afternoon.

When the delivery Pelipper arrived at the ranch, it was already three days later.

That day was May 2nd, 200 in the League calendar.

The Pelipper had set off from Cabo Poco Town, wobbling its way down to the ranch.

This pace would be considered slow even for a normal delivery.

Under normal circumstances, with the speed of a Pokemon like Pelipper, it should take about a day to get from Cabo Poco Town to Porto Marinada Town.

The delivery Pelipper that landed at the ranch looked a bit disheveled, dirty all over.

Naoki was somewhat surprised,

and after some inquiries, he learned that the Pelipper had been attacked by wild Pokemon on its way and had struggled hard to safeguard this delivery.

Pelipper looked rather shaken, deciding it would never take the back roads again.

Naoki: ”...”

He took the package from Pelipper and then brought out some potion to treat the injuries on its body.

Expressing its deep gratitude, Pelipper then set off on its return journey.

Naoki, on the other hand, took the mask-making materials to the World Tree and found Mewtwo.

He handed the package containing the materials over to Mewtwo.

Mewtwo took a glance at it.

The next second, its deep voice resonated within Naoki’s mind: ”What shape do you want it to be?”

What shape to make...

The first thing Naoki thought of was Meyer’s Blaziken Mask.

It was a mask designed with Blaziken as the original model, including a cape, tights, and other clothing besides the mask.

Then, why not make it based on a Pokemon.

The only question was which Pokemon to use as a model?

Naoki glanced at Koraidon beside him, who had come with him to the World Tree.

”No, it won’t work. Koraidon would be too obvious.” Naoki shook his head instinctively.

Because, so far, in this world, there are only two Koraidon, one at the Area Zero Research Institute and the other is right here with him.

Even the Pokedex doesn’t have the ecological details of Koraidon recorded yet.

Then, what about Cyclizar?

In the Paldea Region, Cyclizar is a widely known Pokemon and a crucial mode of transportation for its people.

Since everyone has Cyclizar, wearing a Cyclizar Mask wouldn’t make him stand out so much.

Thinking of this, Naoki had his answer in mind.

”Cyclizar it is!”

Mewtwo, having seen Cyclizar before, calmly nodded at these words, then, with a small mental movement, the materials for the mask began to levitate under its Telekinesis.

Then, a miraculous scene unfolded.

The materials, under Mewtwo’s control, started transforming at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Ultimately, it turned into a mask shaped like Cyclizar, with black and dark green as the dominant colors.

”Done.” Mewtwo said.

Naoki glanced at it and was quite satisfied, then thanked Mewtwo, and departed with Koraidon.

With this, he wouldn’t have to worry about revealing his identity anymore!

From now on, with the mask, he is the Cyclizar Mask, without it just an ordinary rancher.

Naoki and Koraidon left the Reversed World.

But as soon as they returned to the ranch, Naoki spotted a familiar figure sitting on the grass.

It was that Sprigatito from not long ago!

Naoki munched on a few Translation Nuts Cake stored in his pocket and went up to ask, ”So, did my advice work last time?”

Sprigatito puffed up its cheeks and relayed to Naoki and Koraidon what had happened after it went back last time.

”Meow-ha!” (It’s so infuriating! What I did had no effect at all, and Xiaodong still cares for other Pokemon! Not to mention that while I was away from home, he caught another new Pokemon! He doesn’t care about me at all!)

Naoki: ”...”

If that’s the case, that trainer is overstepping.

He stood on the grass, frowning, and asked, ”So, did you run away from home again today?”

Sprigatito responded angrily, ”Meow-ha!” (I’m never going back!)

Goodness!

Naoki asked in surprise, ”Could it be you want to abandon your trainer?”

He had seen trainers abandon Pokemon, but never Pokemon abandon their trainers!

In this world, trainers discarding Pokemon is not unheard of.

Like Shinji from the anime, he only captures Pokemon with high potential and strength, releasing them if they fail to meet his standards.

Even a Pokemon like Charmander could be abandoned.

But a captured Pokemon abandoning its trainer, that’s a rarity indeed.

Sprigatito was evidently heated, it replied loudly, ”Meow-ha!” (Exactly!)

Naoki was about to say something, but just then, a boy approximately ten years old suddenly appeared at the entrance of the ranch.

Sprigatito, with its keen sense of smell, caught the boy’s scent, and without hesitation turned and bolted into the grass, disappearing quickly.

Since Sprigatito was completely green and nearly blended into the grass, the boy didn’t notice it and turned his attention to Naoki standing there.

”Uh, excuse me, have you seen a Sprigatito around here?”

Naoki: ”...”

He glanced around, only seeing Butterfree, Combee, Cyclizar and a few other Pokemon—but no Sprigatito in sight.
