Not Being a Trainer This Time

Naoki and Mewtwo stood below, watching the scene.

After a while, Naoki asked, ”Do you want to give it a try?”

Mewtwo: ”...”

It turned around and said, ”Let’s keep moving forward.”

The Pokemon who were playing around stopped when they heard this and obediently followed behind Mewtwo.

Seeing this, Naoki didn’t say much.

He led the group of Pokemon to the top layer of the World Tree.

Soon, a vast grassland appeared before the eyes of the Pokemon.

And on the grassland, there were many uniquely designed buildings.

They looked somewhat like human-constructed houses.

From a distance, Mewtwo saw several Pokemon using large leaves to carry Berries into a house.

”This is the headquarters of the Heroic Expedition Team Guild,” Naoki said. ”As you can see, those buildings are specially built for the expedition team.”

”That over there is the dormitory for Pokemon to sleep in, the grandest building is the Explorer Team Guild Headquarters, that’s the Item Shop, over there is the cafeteria and sushi bar... and in the center is the park for Pokemon to relax.”

Hearing these words, Mewtwo couldn’t help but show surprise.

Naoki noticed its thoughts and smiled, saying, ”That’s right, all the clerks and service personnel here are Pokemon, not a single human!”

Mewtwo murmured in disbelief, ”Such a thing actually exists...”

”Don’t underestimate the power of Pokemon.”

Naoki walked to the group of Pokemon beside Mewtwo and introduced them one by one:

”Charizard can use Fire Moves to help start fires and keep warm, Blastoise can use Water Gun to help water the plants, Venusaur can use Grass Energy to care for crops.”

”Pikachu and Mareep can provide power for everyone, Mudbray can till the land, Patrat and Buneary can also serve as messengers within the World Tree.”

”The Pokemon live on their own power, planting Berries here, running the guild, completing tasks, and never having to worry about going hungry again.”

The Pokemon listening to Naoki’s words showed expressions of longing.

Every time Naoki mentioned a Pokemon’s name, that Pokemon’s eyes lit up brightly.

That’s right! The ones that were cloned can also do things just like the ordinary Pokemon of this world!

The Pokemon that hadn’t been mentioned yet looked expectantly at the human.

Could they really live together here, just as Naoki described?

Pokemon that had been persecuted by humans were a bit insecure.

One Skiddo even looked fearful.

Naoki noticed this Skiddo and couldn’t help but think of the three Skiddo at his home that only knew how to dance all day.

But, if he remembered correctly, Skiddo didn’t appear in the movie ”Mewtwo Strikes Back,” did they?

Skiddo are Pokemon from the Kalos Region; they shouldn’t appear in the Kanto Region.

Not only Skiddo, but also Mareep, Mudbray, Buneary, Patrat, and Skitty nearby.

Naoki looked curiously at Mewtwo; did it take these Pokemon in?

Mewtwo’s voice resonated directly in Naoki’s mind through telepathy.

”They were once Pokemon persecuted by humans.”

Hearing this, Naoki instantly understood.

No wonder these Pokemon appeared so anxious and uneasy...

He reached out to gently stroke the forehead of the Skiddo, calming its emotions:

”Don’t worry, it’s okay, no one will hurt you here, you can live here peacefully.”

Skiddo looked at him with a bewildered expression: ”Maa?”

Naoki: ”You know, I also have three Skiddo on my ranch; they used to be just like you, but now they’ve all grown into reliable Gogoat. When I have time, I’ll bring them to the World Tree to make friends with you.”

”Maa...” The Skiddo sensed the kindness radiating from the human and was momentarily stunned, then finally showed a happy, expectant smile: ”Maa!”

Mewtwo silently watched the scene.

When it saw the usually downcast Skiddo smile, it felt a sense of relief.

It seemed that this place was indeed where they belonged.

At that moment, the original inhabitants of the World Tree noticed the Pokemon.

Since Naoki had told them yesterday that new companions would be joining, the Pokemon had gathered early in anticipation.

Tatsugiri, Milotic, Treecko, Tropius, Arboliva.

Almost all the Pokemon except for Slowking were present.

Arboliva was the first to welcome the new Pokemon, and Tropius also let out a joyful cry, offering the banana fruit hanging from its neck.

Meanwhile, the three Tatsugiri bounced up and down excitedly in place.

With new Pokemon joining, does this mean they can hire employees for the sushi bar?

Who should they choose?

Looking at the large group of Pokemon in front of them, the Tatsugiri became afflicted with choice paralysis.

After a while, one of the Tatsugiri shouted.

”Mi?! (Is there any Pokemon willing to help at our sushi bar?!)

Sushi bar? Help?

Mewtwo and the group of Pokemon were slightly taken aback.

Naoki couldn’t help but feel exasperated.

He stepped forward, picked up the three Tatsugiri, and said to them:

”Don’t be so hasty. The most important thing now is to hold a welcome party for everyone. Once the new companions are familiar with the place, you can invite them to help at the sushi bar.”
