Not Being a Trainer This Time

The Paldea Region, unlike other regions, does not have a League Chairman, so Geeta, the Chief Champion, in addition to her duties as the regional Champion, must also take on the role of Chairman.

Unlike in the Galar Region where Chairman Rose and his secretary Oleana handle various affairs, Champion Leon can relax a bit and focus solely on Pokemon battles.

”Alright.” Naoki turned around, ”Why don’t you rest in the living room for a bit? If you’re not in a rush, you can rest overnight at the ranch and return to Galar tomorrow.”

”Hehe, that’s exactly what I was thinking, so I’ll be imposing on you!” Leon sheepishly scratched the back of his head.

The two entered the room and sat down on the sofa.

His sister, Indeedee, brought over two cups of tea and a plate of snacks.

Leon took a sip and then said a bit awkwardly, ”Um, Naoki...”

”Hmm?” Naoki looked up at him.

Leon continued, ”Actually, the reason I came this time is because I want to ask for your help with something.”

This statement took Naoki by surprise.

He put down his tea and asked, ”What is it?”

Leon straightened his face and said seriously, ”To be precise, I want to learn more from Calyrex about past events.”

”Calyrex?” Naoki was slightly taken aback, but after a brief moment of contemplation, he quickly guessed Leon’s intent.

Sure enough, Leon continued, ”Whether it’s the legends recorded in the history of the Galar Region or the truth revealed by Professor Oak, there’s no clear record of the disaster known as the ’Darkest Day’ being completely annihilated.”

”So someday, it will descend upon the Galar Region again, and by then, the region will once again be in danger as it was in the past.”

The ancient texts from Galar document that disaster from three thousand years ago.

At that time, a black vortex appeared in the sky, covering the entire Galar Region. The sky turned dark, rendering the scene reminiscent of an apocalyptic scenario.

Not only that, the texts also document that the Darkest Day triggered many wild Pokemon to undergo uncontrollable Dynamax or Gigantamax transformations.

Because of the havoc caused by these giant Pokemon, the Galar Region was on the brink of destruction.

”I am very worried that that disaster might happen again.” Worry filled Leon’s eyes.

The Galar Region currently thrives on Dynamax battles, but where does the energy supporting Pokemon’s Dynamax transformations come from?

Moreover, Chairman Rose and the Macro Cosmos group have established energy stations in major cities.

If the Dynamax energy there were to leak, what kind of consequences would it trigger?

”I understand.” Naoki nodded gently.

Leon is also a Champion worthy of respect.

In the anime, he was severely injured trying to stop Eternatus.

If not for Zacian and Zamazenta arriving in time, Leon would probably have lost his life there.

This act is quite reminiscent of Steven’s willingness to sacrifice himself to save the Hoenn Region in the special episodes.

Thinking of this, Naoki took out his Rotom Phone and sent a message to Calyrex.

In no time, the figure of Calyrex floated in from outside the door.

Meeting this legendary King of Galar for the second time, Leon suddenly had an indescribable feeling inside.

Recalling the feats it accomplished for the Galar Region in the past, Leon solemnly thanked Calyrex.

”Greetings, Calyrex, I am Leon, the current Champion of the Galar Region.”

Upon hearing the name ”Galar Region,” Calyrex displayed a surprised expression.

With a gentle gaze fixed on this young human, it slowly floated over to Naoki’s side, elegantly sitting on the sofa.

Next, Leon heard the gentle voice of Calyrex resonate in his mind.

”What brings you here?”

Leon straightened his expression and asked, ”Regarding the Darkest Day from three thousand years ago, what more can you tell us? From what I gathered from ancient texts, those two heroes did not completely defeat the Darkest Day, but merely sealed it. I am very worried that it will descend upon the Galar Region again in the future.”

Leon slowly voiced his inner concerns.

After listening, Calyrex showed an enlightened expression, ”So that’s what brings you here!”

Looking at Leon before it, and at the mention of the Darkest Day, its tone changed, transforming back into the once majestic, noble, and elegant King of Galar.

”Since you have this in your heart, I shall recount to you everything from the past!”

The next moment, a vast spiritual power emanated from Calyrex.

The energy enveloped the entire room in an instant.

Soon after, the surroundings underwent an overwhelming transformation.

The room, sofa, and walls disappeared without a trace.

What came into view was an endless vast plain, nowhere in sight stood a human town, only scattered Pokemon could be seen.

”This is the world twenty thousand years ago.” Calyrex began slowly, ”At that time, the Darkest Day descended from the skies.”

”Twenty thousand years ago?” Leon was astonished.

Naoki, however, wasn’t surprised because he knew Calyrex had the ability to see the past and the future.

Calyrex nodded slightly.

As soon as it finished speaking, the entire sky turned red, and an incomparably massive meteorite streaked across the sky, crashing down to earth with a blazing trail of flames.
