Not Being a Trainer This Time

”Woo!” This time, Milotic stepped forward voluntarily.

Its slender and graceful body gently swayed, a magical force surged above the fields, gathering into a cloud.

Then, drizzle fell from the clouds, nourishing the fields below.

”That’s right, just like that.” Naoki nodded: ”Use Water Type moves to irrigate the fields, the seeds in the soil will absorb the water, helping them grow better. Besides Rain Dance, you can also use Water Gun to water them.”

For this, Blastoise, Gyarados, Golduck, and Vaporeon felt they had a strong say.

They all knew how to use Water Gun, so they could come over and help water the fields in the future!

”That’s right, just like that.” Naoki nodded with a smile.

With that, the matters concerning the fields could be temporarily concluded.

He glanced around, finally locking his gaze on the mill by the river.

Naoki took out a bag of homegrown rice and wheat from his waist, and said:

”Next, I’ll take you to the mill over there to see how the harvested rice and wheat are turned into rice and flour.”

Through the fields, it took about three minutes for the group to arrive at the water-powered mill.

The mill was built by the river, utilizing the power of the water flow, the windmill above slowly turned.

The mill had two openings, and Naoki took out the rice from the bag, placing it into one of the openings.

”This is where the grains are crushed and turned into rice.”

With the flow of water, a series of squeaky sounds emitted from the mill, and after a few minutes, the mill’s task was completed.

Naoki walked to the other side, took out the polished rice, and told the Pokemon who followed:

”This is rice; it can be used to make meals or sushi.”

”Mi?!” (Are we going to make sushi now?!)

The three Tatsugiri exclaimed excitedly.

Naoki gave a helpless smile: ”Don’t hurry, there’s still one more thing.”

He took out the bag of wheat and placed it into the other opening of the mill.

With the milling process, the wheat quickly turned into snow-white fine flour.

”This is the flour I mentioned before.” Naoki said: ”It can be used to steam buns or make bread. You just need to mix it with eggs and milk, then put it in the oven, and you can bake soft, sweet bread.”

”Pikachu...”

Pikachu imagined the scene and felt like it was already drooling just by thinking.

”Okay, the function of the mill has been introduced. Next, let’s go back to the guild!” Naoki said.

Upon hearing this, the three Tatsugiri immediately realized Naoki was going to teach them how to make sushi, and quickly hopped onto Naoki.

One jumped onto his head, while the other two ran left and right onto Naoki’s shoulders.

”Now let’s make sushi with you.” Naoki turned to Mewtwo: ”Mewtwo, would you like to come along too?”

Mewtwo nodded.

It could sense that this human named Naoki genuinely loved Pokemon.

After some detours, the group finally returned to the Explorer Team Guild.

Since there were no chickens near the World Tree, Naoki could only bring a few eggs from the ranch.

He placed the kitchenware, tableware, and electrical appliances in their respective positions and began demonstrating to the group of Pokemon.

Since the chef at the sushi restaurant was Venusaur, this demonstration was mainly for Venusaur to watch.

This cloned Venusaur had patterns different from regular Pokemon, resembling those who paint camouflage on their faces like savages...

Despite the wild look of this Venusaur, its personality was very attentive and gentle.

”To make sushi, you need several ingredients first.” Naoki laid out the required ingredients on the chopping board.

Venusaur and Tatsugiri, among other Pokemon, immediately turned to watch.

”Rice, seaweed, fish fillet, eggs, carrots.”

”First, we need to cook the rice using a rice cooker. If there’s no rice cooker, we’d have to rely on Fire Type Pokemon to ignite, but I brought a rice cooker this time, so Charizard and others won’t need to help.”

”Plug in the power, and the rice cooker will operate on its own. Then, we clean the rice thoroughly and put it in, finally adding the appropriate amount of water, cover, and start steaming.”

”Meanwhile, we can deal with other ingredients.”

Venusaur and Tatsugiri watched attentively.

Naoki started cutting the salmon fillet on the chopping board with a knife.

Looking at the orange-red fish fillet, Tatsugiri was startled and let out a shrill scream: ”Mi!”

Then it started trembling in fear.

Isn’t that Tatsugiri? How scary! Making sushi means using Tatsugiri as ingredients?

Naoki: ”...”

Naoki immediately got what Tatsugiri was thinking.

He explained speechlessly: ”No, that’s not Tatsugiri, it’s salmon, a food Dragonite love to eat.”

”Mi?” Tatsugiri was somewhat incredulous.

Naoki nodded to them: ”Why would I eat you?”

”Mi...” Tatsugiri thought carefully and realized it was indeed the case.

After seeing it was merely ordinary fish fillet, not Tatsugiri, a sigh of relief settled in its heart.
