Not Being a Trainer This Time

If he remembered correctly, in the game, Geeta would regularly inspect those Gym Leaders to assess their strength.

Although he was not a Gym Leader, now he could probably be considered a semi-official Elite, right?

”Come on in and chat!” Naoki drove the car into the ranch.

Leon jumped out of the car.

Geeta raised an eyebrow, a hint of surprise showing on her face.

”Lord Leon? I didn’t expect to see you here.”

Leon looked at Geeta and shook hands with her, grinning: ”Yeah, long time no see, Chief. I’m here to visit Naoki and have a sparring match with him!”

”I see!” Geeta realized, clasping her hands together in excitement, ”It seems I also have a chance to witness a battle between two powerful Champion-level Trainers!”

”It’s just a simple sparring match, not an all-out battle!” Leon said with a grin.

Leon loved to smile, and when speaking with others, he always wore a bright, friendly smile, making him seem very approachable.

Geeta shook her head: ”Such matches are rare! Besides the World Championship and the Eight Great Masters, it’s hard to see two Champions battle elsewhere.”

Speaking of the World Championship and the Eight Great Masters, Leon remembered something.

He asked: ”By the way, Geeta, aren’t you participating this year?”

Geeta chuckled and shook her head: ”There are still a lot of things waiting for me at the Paldea League, I might not have the time.”

Leon was quite disappointed: ”I was hoping to battle you on that stage!”

Geeta shifted the topic to Naoki.

”Naoki, are you not considering participating in the World Championship and the Eight Great Masters?”

”Me?” Naoki was a bit surprised, shaking his head he said: ”I think I’ll pass. I’m not a teenager anymore, those stages are for the young to challenge!”

Geeta was in her mid-twenties, around twenty-six or twenty-seven, with Leon being the only one under twenty, still very young.

For a moment, Naoki and Geeta both looked at Leon, remarking, ”Ah, the youth!”

Leon: ”...You’re not much older than me anyway!”

”Enough talk, I’ll go make dinner, you two go inside and have some tea!” Naoki invited.

The three entered the living room, where the Indeedee sibling offered them tea.

Geeta and Leon noticed that many new Pokemon were at Naoki Ranch, and as Trainers, their eyes were naturally drawn to them.

Leon even took out his Rotom Phone to scan Ogerpon and Gholdengo.

”Unable to find relevant information; these are not yet recorded in the Pokédex!”

”Gholdengo, the Coin Entity Pokémon, is said to be composed of 1000 coins, and is friendly to everyone, instantly forming good relations!”

Geeta explained: ”That’s a unique Pokémon from the Paldea Region! It evolved from a Pokémon named Gimmighoul, and currently, there’s only this one in the entire Paldea Region.”

”So rare?!” Leon was slightly surprised.

”Yes!” Geeta nodded: ”Naoki put in a lot of effort to make this Pokémon evolve!”

”What about that Pokémon?” Leon looked at Ogerpon.

However, Geeta shook her head: ”That one I’m unsure of, it’s a Pokémon Naoki brought back from outside.”

Hearing them discussing it, Ogerpon bounced around, showing its starry eyes.

”Bonnie!”

Naoki raised his head from the kitchen to help with the introduction: ”That’s Ogerpon, a Pokémon from the Johto Region.”

”Ogerpon...” Leon repeated the Pokémon’s name, ”Looks so lively!”

”Bonnie~”

Leon greeted it with a smile: ”Hello, Ogerpon!”

Ogerpon happily responded: ”Bonnie~”

Then it ran off with Gholdengo.

Leon then pointed the phone at Koraidon, which was sleeping on the floor.

However, the Pokédex still lacked information on Koraidon.

This left Leon very surprised, how could this be?

Geeta had a clearer understanding of this matter.

The research at the Area Zero Research Institute was initially funded by the Paldea League.

As a result, they were well aware of the research and experiments conducted by the two Professors.

And this Pokémon was summoned from ancient times by Professor Sada through the Time Machine.

Its name, Koraidon, was also given by Professor Sada.

But so far, the research on Paradox Pokémon by the Area Zero Research Institute hasn’t entered the public eye.

Thus, neither Koraidon nor any other ancient or future Pokémon has been recorded in the Pokédex.

Naoki, after cooking a few simple dishes, left the rest of the meal preparation to the Indeedee sibling.

He returned to the living room to chat with the two guests.

However, seeing him, Geeta suddenly brought up the topic of traveling to Levincia City.

”That expense-paid trip opportunity is very precious, if you don’t go, someone else will grab the spot!”

Naoki thought for a moment, then said: ”Let’s leave it for someone else!”

Geeta: ”...”

Leon was quite surprised: ”Travel? Naoki, are you planning a trip?”

”I don’t have that plan for now.” Naoki shook his head.

”Alright then.” Leon offered: ”If you have time in the future, you can visit the Galar Region, I can take you to bathe in hot springs in Circhester, listen to metal music in Spikemuth Town, and visit the Battle Tower in Wyndon City!”

Naoki smiled and nodded: ”Sure!”

Speaking of which, he has never been to hot springs before!

It’s a pity as there seem to be none in the Paldea Region; otherwise, he would definitely take Koraidon and the others to experience it.

Leon nodded seriously: ”Yes, I’ll definitely entertain you well when the time comes.”

Geeta: ”!!!”

Geeta was internally shocked.

Sure enough, she guessed it right; Leon was here to invite Naoki to settle in Galar!

She quickly changed the topic; to hide her own purposes, she leisurely sipped some tea first.

After the two ended their conversation, she casually asked:

”Speaking of which, Naoki, aren’t you overwhelmed managing the ranch alone? Have you considered getting married, running the ranch with your wife, and taking care of these Pokémon?”

Naoki: ”It’s alright, the Pokémon on the ranch are well-behaved, and the Indeedee sibling helps out too, so it’s manageable.”

”As for marriage, Chief, it seems you’re not married either?”

Geeta: ”...”

She pretended to calmly take a sip of tea: ”There are still many things at the Paldea League that need my attention; work is a priority, so I’m not planning to marry for now.”

But Naoki’s situation was different.

If Naoki decided to get married now, and have a child in a couple of years, she could help raise them personally.

Once the child grows up and becomes an adult, it would coincide with her retirement, just in time to take over her role and lead Paldea to greatness.

The more Geeta thought about it, the more it seemed like a perfect plan.

Naoki couldn’t help but tease: ”Workaholic!”
