Not Being a Trainer This Time

Charizard and Nidoking were already there with wooden barrels.

As the mill turned, flour ground from wheat fell into the barrels, quickly filling them to the brim.

Seeing this, Nidoking picked up the full flour barrel and moved it aside, then carried over a second empty barrel.

After several such rounds, a dozen barrels filled with flour were neatly arranged beside the mill.

Naoki: ”...”

Pokémon with Psychic type are really convenient, aren’t they?

But Naoki didn’t come today to watch Mewtwo perform magic, because Mewtwo can’t take care of them forever. Eventually, those Pokémon need to learn how to harvest by themselves and pass it on.

So, he called over the other Pokémon watching nearby, along with Koraidon and Cyclizar, to demonstrate how to harvest crops.

The Pokémon watched carefully, and one particularly clever Sandslash soon learned the skill.

Using its sharp claws, it began following Naoki to harvest crops.

Naoki glanced over and nodded, ”That’s right, just like that, keep it up!”

Seeing this, the other Pokémon joyfully joined in.

Mewtwo levitated nearby, puzzled as it watched everyone in the fields.

Naoki stopped, standing next to it, as if he had noticed Mewtwo’s confusion, and explained:

”They need to learn to harvest on their own, because you can’t take care of them forever. If one day you suddenly want to leave the World Tree and travel somewhere else, these Pokémon can live here relying on their own strength.”

Farming, watering, harvesting...

Different Pokémon working together, hand in hand, to build a farm that truly belongs to them.

Hearing this, Mewtwo looked thoughtfully at the fields.

Naoki didn’t say much more, just smiled and said, ”Let them try a lunch made from ingredients they grew themselves this afternoon!”

”Alright.” Mewtwo nodded.

From then on, Mewtwo didn’t interfere much. It simply stood and watched Naoki lead those Pokémon in their diligent labor.

Until the group of Pokémon collapsed tiredly on the ground, did it finally step in to harvest the remaining crops, using Teleport to move them to the granary.

Naoki watched and thought: manpower is still lacking!

If there were a few more Pokémon like Haxorus and Scyther, these fields wouldn’t need Mewtwo to intervene.

”Oh well, let’s wait for Mew and Teddiursa to slowly invite them!” Naoki thought.

As noon approached, they returned with their full harvest to the Explorer Team Guild.

Naoki personally cooked, using the fruits and vegetables they harvested today, to prepare a sumptuous lunch for the Pokémon.

The meal took place at the restaurant next to the Explorer Team Guild.

A large group of Pokémon crowded the tables in the restaurant, with each table covered with exquisite dishes and desserts.

Some Pokémon tasted the food and immediately showed expressions of shock.

So delicious!

Seeing its expression, the other Pokémon began to feast heartily.

Naoki stood aside smiling with Koraidon, asking: ”How does it feel to eat food made from crops you grew yourself?”

Meowth looked utterly content, as if drunk: ”Meow~” (Such a blissful feeling meow~)

Pikachu’s eyes also lit up: ”Pika Pika!” (This is the life I love!)

”Da na!”

”Awoo!”

”Ooh~”

The surrounding Pokémon echoed, and for a moment, the entire restaurant was filled with the taste of happiness.

Naoki looked at the scene with a smile.

”From now on, live life well in this place!”

*

After lunch, Naoki began to explore the life of Pokémon on the World Tree.

He found that these Pokémon did their jobs flawlessly.

After filling their bellies, the Pokémon gathered together gradually dispersed and went to do the things they enjoyed.

As owner of the sushi bar, Tatsugiri returned to the sushi restaurant with its three employees to continue running it.

But everyone had just eaten, and weren’t hungry, so no customers went in.

At that moment, chef Venusaur reported to Tatsugiri that ingredients ran out.

Upon hearing this news, Tatsugiri immediately set off to the next level in the Land of Dragons, where it found its buddy Dondozo, and together they went to the sea to search for salmon and seaweed growing on the seabed.

Naoki didn’t follow, as he wanted to see other Pokémon living in this place.

Hence, he went to the coffee shop beside the sushi bar.

When Naoki arrived, Buneary was at the bar brewing coffee adeptly.

It stirred the spoon in the cup, mixing the coffee grounds evenly.

Seeing Naoki come, Patrat immediately brought over three cups of coffee prepared by Buneary.

One for Naoki, one for Koraidon, one for Cyclizar.

Naoki took a sip and found the coffee was not as bitter as he expected, as if Buneary had improved its flavor.

”Great skill!” Naoki gave Buneary a thumbs up.

He noticed that Koraidon and Cyclizar, who didn’t normally drink coffee, were drinking a lot, showing this improved coffee suits the Pokémon’s taste.
