Not Being a Trainer This Time

Koraidon and Cyclizar stood on either side of Naoki, looking at everyone with him.

Calyrex slowly levitated nearby.

Naoki said to him, ”Once the World Tree is fully grown, you can come and live here. By then, I plan to transform this place into a paradise for Pokemon!”

While ascending earlier, Naoki noticed that the World Tree has many layers inside, each with a different environment.

Some are grasslands, some forests, some valleys and caves.

Grasslands and forests are suitable for Grass Type Pokemon to dwell in, while valleys and caves are suitable for Rock Type and Ground Type Pokemon.

Water Type Pokemon could live in lakes like these.

By then, he would choose a scenic environment to build the Explorer Team Guild, Item Shop, restaurant, tavern, dessert shop, and coffee shop.

And then bring in some Pokemon to work.

For example, Pawmot’s parents could serve as shop owners in the item shop; Tropius could provide food in the restaurant; Alcremie could make hot cream in the dessert shop; Rotom Phone could issue commissions at the guild.

Although this world doesn’t have mysterious dungeons, commissions could involve planting Berries, cultivating crops, harvesting fields, and so on.

Along with the secret base of the Heroic Expedition Team, all the basic facilities on the World Tree would be complete.

After that, it would be time to capture more types of Pokemon and invite them to live on the World Tree.

Compared to Professor Oak’s research lab, the World Tree would be the perfect backyard!

Naoki continuously talked to Calyrex about his plan.

Calyrex listened intently, occasionally murmuring, ”I very much look forward to that day.”

Nearby, Koraidon nodded his large head happily. Seeing Naoki like this made Koraidon’s mood lift as well.

”Aga-sii~”

Koraidon knew that Naoki’s plans would all come true in the future.

Suddenly, Koraidon remembered something.

As the World Tree fully grows, it also attracts a particularly powerful character.

That character ”forcibly” made Naoki work for him and opened a gateway to other worlds on this great tree, allowing expedition team Pokemon to enter and rescue those worlds and assist Pokemon in need there.

Koraidon didn’t want to leave Naoki at the time, so he never went to that world, but he heard from Farfetch’d and the others who ventured there that that world also had expedition teams.

At night, Naoki left the World Tree with his Pokemon and returned to the ranch.

Given Calyrex’s current power, the World Tree would take only about four more months to fully grow.

While Naoki was looking forward to it, he also had some worries.

Because he previously promised Giratina that when Arceus awakens from his slumber, he would give him a stern lesson.

Only then would Giratina help him lift the World Tree to the sky.

In the afternoon, he did some searching on his phone and, based on last year’s Silver Conference contestant list, ultimately pinpointed the current timeline.

This world has Ash, who traveled through the Johto Region last year and participated in the Johto League Silver Conference.

And this year, Ash would set out to travel in the Hoenn Region.

This means that next year, he would reach Sinnoh, and Arceus would awaken at that time and start exacting revenge on humanity.

Naoki had never seen the Pokemon referred to as God and wasn’t sure about his strength.

But judging from the movie depiction, even Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina combined weren’t a match for him, requiring Ash to time travel and change everything.

”The Plate, ultimately, it’s about the Plate that Arceus carries.” Naoki thought.

With the Plate, Arceus could be immune to attacks of the corresponding type.

Though Pawmot has already received the King’s Power from Calyrex, relying solely on him is still a bit risky!

So the question arises: could he target the Plate instead?

Naoki thought of Teddiursa’s ability and his innate luck, and the effect that guarantees escape.

Could he send Teddiursa to ”Pickup” the Plate off Arceus?

If he gets it, he could immediately flee, triggering the guaranteed escape effect, which might be able to limit Arceus.

Naoki began to devise a plan in his mind in case it was needed.

Tonight’s dinner was prepared with help from his sister Indeedee.

After eating, the Pokemon at the ranch returned to their nests, each entering their dreams one after another.

Naoki went back to his room and started playing on his phone.

However, as he played, he felt a gaze from beside him that was hard to ignore.

Naoki turned his head and saw Koraidon looking at him with plaintive eyes, seemingly feeling neglected and a bit resentful.

Naoki: ”...”

He patted the bed, gesturing for Koraidon to come over.

Koraidon obediently walked over.

Naoki petted his head and asked him, ”Are you sure you don’t want a Rotom Phone? With one, you could watch TV anytime.”

”Aga-sii!”

Koraidon shook his large head, indicating he didn’t need it; he just wanted to be by Naoki’s side.

Naoki was rather helpless: ”Alright then.”

He wanted to continue playing on his phone, but with Koraidon looking so pitifully beside him, he couldn’t focus on playing at all.

In the end, Naoki simply tossed the phone aside and compromised: ”Okay, okay, I won’t play anymore, let’s sleep together, alright?”

”Aga-sii!”

Koraidon immediately moved closer, happily licking with his large tongue.

Naoki let out a sigh of resignation.

His Pokemon were so clingy. If Professor Sada ever learned Koraidon could look so pitiful and resentful, she would surely be surprised.

Wiping off Koraidon’s drool from his face, Naoki closed his eyes, starting to sleep alongside him.
