Not Being a Trainer This Time

Hoenn Region, the place where dreams begin.

Naoki still remembers when he first got into Pokemon, it was during the Red, Blue, and Emerald era.

Red, Blue, Green respectively correspond to the Earth God Groudon, the Sea God Kyogre, and the Sky God Rayquaza.

”I wonder what time it is now, has the battle of the Three Gods of Hoenn happened?” Naoki murmured in his heart,

Paldea Region is far away from Hoenn Region, he rarely hears news from over there.

But with the destructiveness and impact of Groudon and Kyogre, if that event really happened, the whole world would know about it.

Besides Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza, Hoenn Region also has many Mythical Pokemon and Legendary Pokemon.

For instance, the Three Regis, Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, sleeping in Ancient Ruins.

However, the Pokemon that interests Naoki the most is Jirachi, known as the ”Seven-Night Wishing Star”.

Jirachi is a very special Pokemon.

It can only wake up once every thousand years, and the waking time lasts only a brief seven days. After seven days, the Pokemon will fall asleep again until the next thousand years.

Looking at the Heroic Expedition Team on the screen, Naoki couldn’t help but fall into deep thought.

If he remembers correctly, there’s a place called Forina in Hoenn Region.

It’s the setting for the movie ”Jirachi: Wish Maker”.

And a Jirachi is sleeping in that unique terrain.

Every time the Millennial Comet arrives, Jirachi will awaken, absorb cosmic energy from the comet, then nurture the land, maintaining Forina’s richness and beauty.

Naoki wants to see if that movie will happen in this world.

Thus, he issued a second commission to the Heroic Expedition Team.

”By the way Teddiursa, Mew.”

Across the screen, Teddiursa and Mew, along with Zapdos, looked over, waiting for Naoki’s next words.

”I heard that on the land you’re visiting now, there’s a Pokemon named Jirachi...”

Naoki detailed the rumors of Forina and Jirachi to the three Pokemon.

After listening, Teddiursa and Mew blinked, feeling a bit sympathetic towards the Pokemon.

Teddiursa: ”It’s so pitiful!”

Mew also nodded: ”Only able to wake for seven days, several sevens make a thousand years, Jirachi must be very lonely, right?”

All three Pokemon simultaneously looked up at Naoki.

”Naoki, can you help Jirachi?”

Naoki: ”...”

Is he some kind of wishing machine?

Judging by the depiction in the anime, waking every thousand years for seven days seems to be the ecological habit of this Pokemon, whether it’s the one in Forina or the one in Alola, they’re all like this.

Naoki couldn’t think of a good solution, unless he could develop a culinary dish useful to Jirachi, but the key is that he currently has no idea nor knows what kind of dish would have such an effect,

but looking at the three Pokemon’s expectant eyes, Naoki couldn’t say he couldn’t do it.

He swallowed the words and changed his tune: ”I will do my best to try.”

Hearing this, Mew and Teddiursa happily clapped.

Their words were translated by Rotom.

”Then we shall go find Forina and Jirachi!”

After hanging up the phone, Mew and Teddiursa looked at the Rotom Phone in front of them.

”One two one two!” (Rotom, please help us record Naoki’s commission!)

”Understood Roto!” The Rotom Phone responded.

It then opened the memo function and recorded down Naoki’s commission.

[Commission 2: Help Jirachi!

Commission content: Go to Forina to find the Mythical Pokemon Jirachi, which wakes every thousand years, then help it with Naoki together.

Completion status: Not yet completed]

Besides this commission, there is currently one more commission in the memo.

[Commission 1: Find expedition team member

Commission content: Find a Pokemon named Hoopa, and invite it to join the Heroic Expedition Team on the journey.

Completion status: Not yet completed]

This was the plan devised by the Phone Rotom after joining to help the Heroic Expedition Team.

To prevent them from forgetting, so they can view incomplete commissions at any time, the Phone Rotom has stored all commissions submitted to the Heroic Expedition Team and tasks into the memo.

Near noon, Naoki picked a basket of red apples from the Apple Garden and brought them home to make delicious apple pie and caramelized apples.

[Apple Pie (C): A delicacy made with apples, a traditional dessert from some places, Cooking Effect, increases friendliness of sweet-loving Pokemon.]

[Caramelized Apples (C+): A snack made with apples and sugar, Cooking Effect, Silk Thread enhancement lv1, enhances the toughness and resilience of thread-type moves, making them difficult to escape.]

The effect of apple pie is quite ordinary, and the effect of caramelized apples is only effective for Butterfree.

Naoki simply glanced at it and didn’t continue to pay attention to its effects, planning to eat them as regular snacks.

Besides these two desserts, Naoki also made some meat dishes.

After all, according to his understanding, Koraidon and Cyclizar are not too interested in such sweets.

Compared to apple pie, they prefer roasted meat that is golden brown, sizzling with oil, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of meat juice.
