Not Being a Trainer This Time

After arranging matters on the Pokemon Forum, next will be waiting for the visit from Professor Oak.

As the number of netizens on the Pokemon Forum increased, the faith they provided to Calyrex also grew.

Although there didn’t seem to be any change on the surface, Naoki could feel the Power of Faith within Calyrex becoming increasingly vast.

Should Calyrex unleash its full force right now, Naoki has a premonition that even Giratina might fall beneath its Glacial Lance.

After all, that’s the faith of over a hundred thousand humans!

Currently, Calyrex’s power has far surpassed its peak, and combined with Spectrier and Glastrier, it likely has become the strongest Pokemon at Naoki Ranch.

Moreover, this sudden surge of faith directly replenished all the power Calyrex had expended when nurturing the World Tree last time.

So that afternoon, Naoki took the Pokemon at the ranch along with Calyrex to the base of the World Tree.

In the ancient and ruined void, the towering and majestic World Tree soared to the sky, its immense canopy lush and expansive, the glimmering leaves blocked out the sky continually.

The trunk of the World Tree below had grown almost as large as half the ranch, surrounded by the glow of Sunflowers; the river flowing from Sky Island continually irrigated the World Tree, making it thrive.

Looking at this brand new giant tree, if Naoki hadn’t personally witnessed it, he would find it hard to imagine it grew from such a tiny seed.

At this moment, standing beneath the World Tree, Naoki felt so insignificant.

Even the relatively large Koraidon seemed negligible in its presence.

No wonder it’s the legendary tree that supports the world!

Naoki gazed at the World Tree, and its information was fully revealed before him.

[World Tree (Mature Stage): A seedling that absorbed a large amount of Power of Grass, mutated during growth due to Gogoat’s influence, with boundless Life Force brewing within, eventually emerging from the ground, said to support a world and nurture all living things with Natural Energy, requiring 48054 years to fully mature.]

According to Calyrex’s original ability, it would take ten more months for this World Tree to fully mature, around the end of this year.

But now that Calyrex absorbed so much faith, Naoki believes this timeframe will definitely shorten further.

”Begin, Calyrex!” Naoki anticipated, curious to see what elevation the faith of one hundred thousand netizens would bring Calyrex.

”Alright.”

Calyrex nodded slightly.

In the next moment, watched by Koraidon, Alcremie, Gogoat, Pawmot, and other Pokemon, Calyrex slowly extended its hands.

A gentle blue light enveloped Calyrex’s entire body.

Then, the light transformed into a galaxy of pure energy, slowly flowing towards the World Tree, eventually becoming a tether connecting Calyrex and the World Tree.

As Calyrex injected power into the World Tree, a miraculous scene unfolded.

Energy ripples began spreading continuously on the trunk and canopy, resonating with a strange humming sound.

”Shaa shaa～!”

The tree’s shadow swayed, the leaves rustled gently, producing a soft sound.

In the eyes of Naoki and other Pokemon, a hole suddenly appeared on the gnarled trunk of the World Tree in front of them.

Moreover, Naoki noticed the original trunk began gradually transitioning into another form!

This form somewhat resembled rock layers and crystals, yet still maintained the appearance of a tree.

What’s going on?

After Calyrex’s nurturing ended, Naoki stepped forward, gently touching the enormous roots protruding from the ground.

”Ah gaa ss?”

Koraidon remarked in confusion, stepping forward similarly, lowering its head to inspect the roots, yet found nothing.

Naoki fell into contemplation.

He recalled information about another World Tree in this world.

The Tree of Beginning, located in the mountains of Aurandru City in the Kanto Region, appeared tree-like but consisted of rock layers, a crystal life form capable of relying on light to supplement energy and nutrients.

Could it be that the World Tree he grew might eventually transform into that form, relying on sunlight for energy?

That would be great!

This way, even if this World Tree flies up to the sky later, there would be no worry about it withering due to lack of nutrients from the soil.

Naoki also noticed that the description of this World Tree had changed.

[World Tree (Mature Stage): The thriving World Tree, nearing the end of its growth, transforming into another life form, constructing an internal environment, a miraculous tree, said to support a world and nurture all living things with Natural Energy, requiring 38198 years to fully mature.]

Seeing this information, Naoki thought internally, as expected.

He glanced at the hole on the trunk, not in a hurry to explore inside, but calculating how many years the maturation period of the World Tree had shortened this time.

48054-38198=9856

”9856 years?” Naoki murmured, ”Almost double the previous duration.”
