Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 427: Chapter 262: Return to the Ranch

He stayed by Calyrex’s side in service, while Zack went out to continue spreading the teachings, reviving the religion of Calyrex in this land.

However, to avoid misunderstanding innocent people, Naoki finally said:

”Actually, it wasn’t really the ordinary people of the Galar Region’s fault. It was all because the Galar Royal Family, to maintain their rule, took credit for Calyrex’s achievements and erased traces of His existence.”

”Sigh!” Zack sighed, then added with some emotion, ”It’s a relief that the kingdom has long become extinct; now it’s the era of the League.”

”Indeed!” Naoki agreed.

Once finished talking, the two turned around and walked back towards Calyrex, who was waiting nearby.

Zack looked at Calyrex with a gaze filled with both sympathy and respect.

But he had never spoken to such a Legendary Pokemon before. After hesitating for quite a while, he finally squeezed out a few words:

”Oh King of Bountiful Harvests, feel free to settle down in our town. We will join Naoki in... in worshiping you!”

Calyrex nodded with a smile.

Seeing Him smile, Zack also started to smile.

But soon, he remembered he still had work left unfinished. Slapping his forehead, he ran back to the large truck.

Through the window, Zack bid farewell to Naoki and Koraidon with Calyrex: ”Almost forgot! I still need to go to work. You should also head back to the ranch soon! Dragonite misses you all!”

Naoki nodded, watching the large truck disappear at the end of the road, then rode Koraidon in the direction of the ranch.

Soon, Naoki saw the sign of Naoki Ranch.

He rode Koraidon alongside Calyrex, while Glastrier followed with a sack of cargo.

”This is where we live,” Naoki said.

They passed through the ranch’s main gate, as Calyrex curiously surveyed the place.

Neat rows of crops, withered flower fields, sparse and yellowing grass...

The view wasn’t exactly impressive.

Naoki felt a bit embarrassed: ”Since winter is approaching, all these flowers have withered.”

”I am aware.” Calyrex nodded with a smile.

Looking at the orderly scene before Him, He could foresee the vibrant and fragrant sight that spring would bring.

In the ranch, a few Pokemon were listlessly lying on the grass, fiddling with weeds.

Those were Pawmo, Alcremie, Glaceon, and Naclstack among the Pokemon.

They sat with their backs to the ranch entrance, gazing idly at the blue sky.

Alcremie sighed: ”Ma-ma...” (So boring!)

Naclstack were equally downcast: ”Lei...” (Bored...)

Pawmo let out a gentle breath: ”Ba-mo, Ba-mo.” (Naoki has been gone for a long time, I wonder when he’ll be back.)

Beside them, Glaceon’s mood was just as low.

Before coming to the ranch, it used to love winter, the snow-covered world, enjoying the life of playing freely in the ice and snow.

But now, it feels that life is too monotonous.

Compared to ice and snow, it prefers the fragrant flowers, running and playing with everyone on the grassy fields under the warm sun.

Thinking of this, Glaceon sighed: ”Bui...” (Sigh.)

A few Pokemon looked up at the monotonous blue sky, and the next moment, they all sighed in unison.

”Sigh.”

The days without Naoki, even the sky seemed so repetitive.

”Aga...”

Seeing this scene, Koraidon was just about to say something, when Naoki suddenly covered its mouth.

It looked puzzled, and saw Naoki making a shushing gesture.

Though confused, Koraidon obediently closed its mouth.

Naoki smiled, patted its head, and then tiptoed towards the Pokemon sitting with their backs to him, gazing up at the sky.

When he got close enough, he covered Pawmo’s eyes with a hand: ”Guess who I am.”

Pawmo was startled by the sudden large hand, but upon hearing the voice, its face immediately lit up with excitement.

”Ba-mo!”

The last effect of the Translation Nuts Cake wore off, leaving Naoki unable to understand Pokemon speech.

But it didn’t matter, he could understand what his Pokemon meant, even without the Translation Nuts Cake.

Naoki chuckled, lifted Pawmo under its armpits and hugged it: ”I’m back!”

”Ba-mo~”

In Pawmo’s eyes, there was a bright glow of joy and excitement. It warmly pounced into Naoki’s arms and used Nuzzle on him.

The next second, Naoki felt a tingling sensation all over.

”Pawmo~”

Pawmot called out affectionately.

Naoki smiled and patted its fluffy head, ”Alright, alright, everything outside is settled, so now I can stay at the ranch with you all for the winter.”

Hearing this, the nearby Pokemon were all especially happy.

Naoki’s return made them feel the sky was no longer so monotonous, and the whole world seemed filled with color.

Alcremie opened its arms and jumped in place, ”Maa-Maa!”

Naoki understood what it meant, so he put Pawmot down and then picked up Alcremie, ”Alright, I’ll hug you too.”

”Maa-Maa~” Alcremie was overjoyed.

Naoki then looked toward Glaceon, whose eyes were filled with longing, but it stood there stubbornly, not reacting.

Naoki smiled slightly, put Alcremie down, and, ignoring Glaceon’s struggling, picked it up.

Fortunately, Glaceon only made a token resistance before settling down, feeling a bit embarrassed to be held in Naoki’s arms.

”Have you been well these days?” Naoki asked.

”Pawmo!”

”Maa-Maa!”

”Nacl!”

”Bui!”

The Pokemon all responded in unison.

Naoki held Glaceon for a while, then put it down.

Just as he was about to take them to meet Calyrex, he noticed five Naclstack gazing at him with longing eyes, as if they also wanted a hug.

Naoki: ”...”

He decided that he would try to develop some Huge Power cooking!

If Ash can lift Nebby weighing up to 999 kg, he can definitely lift Naclstack!

At this moment, a ”Baa” sound suddenly came from not far away.

Naoki turned his head and saw other Pokemon on the ranch excitedly running toward him.

Three Gogoat, Butterfree, Dolliv, Dragonite...

The sound of their running was so loud that it attracted the attention of the Indeedee Sibling in the room.

The siblings opened the door and saw Naoki returned to the ranch.

Their eyes lit up, and they happily came forward to greet him.

In the blink of an eye, Naoki was surrounded by this group of Pokemon.

He wasn’t the least bit flustered, reaching out to pet each of them.

”It’s indeed that familiar feeling! No wonder you’re my Dragonite! This is great!”

”Poor Gogoat, you’ve all gotten so thin, don’t worry, there’s grass from a harvest a few months ago in the warehouse, I’ll make you fresh Grassy Seed dumplings later.”

”Dolliv, it’s been a long time!”

”Butterfree, are you used to the environment in the Glass Greenhouse?”

The Pokemon responded one by one.

Dragonite hugged Naoki enthusiastically, ”Aoo~”

Gogoat nodded happily, ”Baa~”

Dolliv squinted with joy, ”Nyu~”

Butterfree also happily nodded, ”Fui~”

Finally, Naoki looked at the Indeedee brother and sister, smiling and thanking them, ”Thank you for your hard work during this time!”

The Indeedee brother stood seriously behind his sister, like a little adult.

The Indeedee sister happily nodded, ”Ai yi~”

After greeting them, Naoki turned around and led them to Calyrex, Spectrier, and Glastrier.

Meanwhile, he released Cyclizar, Sinistea, and Polteageist from the Poke Balls.

Naoki introduced them one by one, ”This Pokemon that looks like a cup is called Sinistea, and this somewhat morose-looking Pokemon is called Polteageist.”

”This totally white Pokemon here is called Glastrier, and this black one is called Spectrier, and this is Calyrex.”

”From now on, these Pokemon are our new companions; they will live with us at the ranch.”

The Pokemon on the ranch looked at Calyrex, blinking, and then collectively made welcoming cries.

Seeing this, a smile appeared on Calyrex’s face.

He looked at the group of Pokemon in front of him, eyes full of kindness.

”I am Calyrex, like Naoki, a farmer adept at cultivation. From now on, I ask for your guidance!”
