Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 401: Chapter 250: Not Becoming the King of Galar This Time

”Naoki, from now on, please take care of me.”

Hearing this, Naoki was slightly taken aback, unable to react for a moment.

Calyrex looked at him and said, ”This is my response. From this moment on, I am no longer the King of Galar.”

This was a decision Calyrex had reached after much deliberation.

The current Galar Region had undergone earth-shattering changes, no longer the Galar they once knew.

And the former King of Galar had already become a thing of the past.

In Calyrex’s mind, images of the place where the little believers were appeared, the humans there, the Pokemon there, the warm sunlight there.

This world is vast, with so many things that it had never experienced or understood.

Thinking of this, Calyrex’s dignified gaze gradually became determined.

”Really?”

Naoki finally realized what Calyrex was saying and was delighted, quickly asking.

Calyrex nodded slightly, ”I never deceive others. Naoki, take me to see the place where you live!”

Naoki solemnly agreed, ”Alright.”

At this moment, the stew in the pot was ready.

With the bubbling sound, an aroma mixed with the fragrance of potatoes and meat spread through the air.

Smelling this aroma, Koraidon and Cyclizar’s eyes lit up, looking expectantly at the pot nearby.

Even Calyrex was drawn to it, saying, ”I have never smelled such an aroma.”

Naoki smiled and asked, ”Would you like to try it?”

He thought Calyrex would agree, but to his surprise, Calyrex gently shook its head, ”Forget it, I don’t like... No, it’s not that I don’t like it, it’s just that meat is not part of my and my favorite horse’s diet.”

Naoki immediately understood.

So Calyrex and the two horses are vegetarian Pokemon!

He thought for a moment, then took out some bread made from flour from his backpack and handed it to Calyrex, ”Want to try this?”

Calyrex reached for it and took a bite.

”How is it?” Naoki asked eagerly.

Calyrex nodded slightly, ”Though it doesn’t taste as good as carrots, it’s quite a nice food, I like it very much.”

”That’s good.” As he spoke, Naoki fed two pieces of bread to Spectrier and Glastrier before lifting the lid to check the hot stew.

[Potato Stew (B+): A high-level dish made by boiling diced potatoes and meat together in a large pot. The broth perfectly blends with the tender potatoes, making it rich and after eating a serving, it keeps the body warm all day long.

Cooking Effect: Resistance to cold, recovery level 2. After eating, the body will become warm, and stamina will greatly recover, lasting for 6 hours.

Review: A delicious meal that fills the stomach and warms the body, very suitable for humans and Pokemon who are frail and afraid of the cold. ]

Looking at this information, Naoki was a bit surprised.

Resistance to cold recovery? Dual effects?

It can both keep you warm and restore stamina?

It seems like the hot noodle soup can retire now, Naoki thought.

Calculating the time, the effect of the hot noodle soup they had previously eaten was almost gone, just in time to use this pot of potato stew to replenish.

Naoki divided the potato stew for Cyclizar and Koraidon.

The two Pokemon immediately buried their faces in the bowls and ate heartily.

While eating, Calyrex suddenly asked, ”When do you plan to return to the Paldea Region?”

Naoki thought carefully and replied, ”In a few days! I still have some things to do here, and I’ll return once I’m done.”

After finishing the work here in Crown Tundra, he still needs to go to other big cities to acquire some steel feathers from Corviknight to bring back to the ranch for Tinkatink to forge hammers.

Besides, there are a few other things in Crown Tundra to consider.

That is the white carrots and black carrots that Spectrier and Glastrier love most.

They certainly need to go with Calyrex to the ranch, but black and white carrots cannot grow outside of Crown Tundra, making them a unique specialty here.

After returning to the ranch, this means the two horses can no longer eat their favorite carrots.

Naoki thought it would be great if he could find out why black and white carrots only grow here.

Then he could create a dedicated land at the ranch to grow white and black carrots for Glastrier and Spectrier.

Thinking of this, Naoki shared his thoughts with Calyrex in front of him.

Upon hearing this, Calyrex also fell into contemplation, ”Indeed, if we can grow vegetables they like there, they will certainly be very happy.”

Naoki nodded, ”So, after dinner, I plan to go to Snowy Valley and Ancient Tomb to investigate.”

To see what makes the soil and environment of these two places unique.

Calyrex: ”I will accompany you.”

*

After lunch, Naoki packed his things, put on his backpack again, and climbed onto Koraidon’s back.

Calyrex also rode on Spectrier, followed by Glastrier, walking alongside Koraidon out of the Crown Shrine.

When they got outside, Calyrex stopped and looked back at the ancient shrine perched atop the vast snowy mountain.

It would be impossible to say that there was no emotion inside.

After all, it had lived there for such a long time, the weathered walls of the shrine witnessing their rise and fall.

From being revered as a king by humans to being forgotten by the world.

Snow began to fall in the sky again at some point.

Calyrex stood in the snow watching for a long, long time.

Until a deep sigh echoed between heaven and earth, Calyrex withdrew its gaze and said to Naoki, ”I... Never mind, I am no longer a king. Since that’s the case, let’s go!”

Naoki nodded, not saying a word, knowing that Calyrex must have made this decision with great determination.

On the way, Calyrex suddenly asked, ”Naoki, what does it feel like to be a farmer?”

Naoki was slightly stunned, thought carefully, and then answered:

”Perhaps it’s leisurely? Actually, everyone’s perspective is different. Some people enjoy a bustling and lively life, they travel around the world, while others prefer a peaceful life, staying in one place, living an undisturbed, leisurely life.”

Calyrex nodded lightly, ”In that case, let me also start learning how to be a farmer! Naoki, please teach me from now on!”

Naoki: ?

Are you serious?

Perhaps seeing his confused expression was too obvious, Calyrex took the initiative to explain:

”The world is no longer the world I knew, the king has become history, and now, I no longer wish to be a king.”

”I was wondering what I could do after not being a king, and seeing you, I thought of your ranch, I am very interested in it, perhaps I can start trying to be a farmer.”

Naoki: ”...”

This is amazing, if Calyrex’s former believers found out he’s letting Calyrex do farming, they might just explode with anger!

But thinking about it, with Calyrex’s abilities, it’s indeed quite suitable for being a farmer.

”I’m looking forward to it,” Naoki said.

The corners of Calyrex’s mouth lifted slightly into a smile, the same expectant smile on its face.

They rode Koraidon and Glastrier along the snow-covered mountain path, snowflakes falling gently onto their shoulders.

Naoki and Calyrex walked side by side in the snow, heading down the mountain toward a new life.
