Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 413: Chapter 257: The Commercialization of Pokemon Battles in the Galar Region (4k)

”Corviknight Flying Taxi General Company...”

Naoki walked down the streets of Wyndon City with Koraidon and Calyrex, following the road signs in the city center to head to their destination.

Passersby came and went, almost everyone accompanied by one or two Pokemon.

Some were simply shopping, while others were Pokemon Trainers visiting Wyndon City for the first time, eyes full of wonder.

In this world, shopping with Pokemon was a common thing, so even with Koraidon and Calyrex, it didn’t cause too much commotion.

The reason was simple: these two Pokemon were so rare that no one recognized them.

A few spirited young Trainers, after meeting Naoki’s eyes, ran over to block their way and challenged him to a battle.

Like right now.

A young Trainer wearing a red and white cap, followed by a Scorbunny, stood in front of them, looking at Koraidon and Calyrex excitedly.

”I’ve never seen these Pokemon before! You’re a Trainer, right? Let’s have a Pokemon battle!”

Naoki looked down at the cute little bunny and couldn’t help saying, ”You must have just become a Trainer recently, right?”

The young Trainer held up three fingers: ”It’s already been three months!”

Naoki showed a polite smile: ”This might be a bit unfair to you, perhaps you should come back to challenge me when you’re a bit older!”

The young Trainer persisted: ”No, we’ve already collected three Gym Badges!”

”Three?” Naoki was a bit surprised, but thinking about the strength of Koraidon and Calyrex, he still shook his head and said, ”Still not enough, well, I wish you a successful journey, see you around!”

After saying that, he bypassed this new Trainer.

He hadn’t walked a few steps before another Trainer ran over to invite him for a Pokemon battle.

Naoki: ”...”

As expected of a super metropolis where Trainer culture thrives!

He looked at the Sirfetch’d beside this young Trainer and thought it seemed much stronger than the previous one.

But he really wasn’t here for battles this time!

Facing the young Trainer’s invitation, Naoki shook his head and said: ”Sorry, I’m not a Pokemon Trainer, so I can’t accept your invitation.”

The young Trainer was taken aback, he seemed a bit older, about fifteen or sixteen.

”How is that? I can see you’re clearly a Trainer... this Pokemon is so strong, it must have been through many tough battles!”

Naoki continued to smile politely: ”But we’re really not!”

The young Trainer was quite perceptive to people’s expressions and, hearing this, finally stopped insisting on the battle.

Naoki then breathed a sigh of relief; he dared not leisurely stroll through the city anymore, so he directly mounted Koraidon and ran swiftly down the road.

After crossing several streets, they finally arrived at the headquarters of the Corviknight Flying Taxi Company.

The building was a skyscraper over thirty meters tall.

The first-floor lobby housed the ticket counter and a lounge area, and several staff members stood at the reception desk. As Naoki entered, some guests who were about to take a flying taxi had just bought their tickets.

”It will be 1500 League coins. Please keep your ticket safe. Take the elevator to the rooftop terrace to board. Our Corviknight Flying Taxis are parked there.”

The receptionist handed the ticket to the guest with a smile.

As the guest turned to leave, she turned her gaze to Naoki, who had stepped forward, and greeted him with a polite smile: ”Welcome! Hello, how can I assist you today?”

”Hello, I’m wondering if there are any Corviknight feathers for sale here?” Naoki inquired.

The receptionist was slightly taken aback: ”You want to purchase Corviknight feathers?”

Naoki nodded.

The receptionist looked a bit troubled: ”As far as I know, we’ve signed an agreement with a steel factory, where all the feathers that Corviknight shed while working here are sent for smelting to make various iron goods sold elsewhere. They’ve never been sold separately before...”

”Steel factory?” Naoki pondered for a moment and quickly realized that Corviknight feathers are also an important resource in this world.

Seeing his keen interest, the receptionist thought carefully, then said: ”Alright, I’ll check with our company’s boss.”

Naoki initially thought he wouldn’t be able to buy any, but hearing this, he realized there was still a chance and thanked, ”Sorry to trouble you.”

The receptionist smiled: ”No problem, I’m happy to be of assistance to you, Trainer sir.”

The Galar Region greatly values each Trainer; after Chairman Rose became a league official, he implemented a series of policies favoring Trainers.

He hopes that every Trainer visiting the Galar Region will have a pleasant experience.

Because of his influence, everyone in this region is willing to help Trainers passing by.

These Trainers traveling through the Galar Region can bring them tangible benefits, whether by spending or battling Pokemon.

After all, the Galar Region is known for attracting people with Pokemon battles.

Regarding this, Naoki wasn’t very clear.

The receptionist didn’t explain either; she picked up the phone at the front desk, dialed a number, and made a call.
